History

Established in 1968.

The business Goodyear or Great River Tire has been here on the corner of 2^nd & Mulberry since 68′ but the Goodyear store was in several different locations for many years prior to that. Growing up in Muscatine in the 80’s it was always Don’s Great River Tire. In the late 90’s it changed hands several times & even names a few times in to the early 2000’s. In 2002 I was hired as the Manager, in 06 my wife Jennifer & I purchased 50% of the business & changed the name back to Great River Tire. In late 07 we purchased the second half & finally in 2010 we purchased the building. At that time we did a complete remodel to improve the appearance & efficiency of the building. As life long residents of Muscatine we wanted to invest in Downtown Muscatine’s appearance. We continue to evolve to keep up with ever changing vehicles & we hope to take care of all your vehicle service needs for many years to come. Our children hope to get involved with GRT’s future.

As the owner of Great River Tire & Service I look for Integrity in the employees I hire. With that Integrity I know they will tell you the truth about what we find right or wrong with your vehicle & build good relationships with our customers. Relationships are important because we will see you at school functions, local fund raisers, church, & the grocery store. We may not always tell you what you want to hear but we will explain to you what we’ve found & happily show you any issues on the vehicle so that you completely understand what we are referring to. If you ever have a question or want a second opinion please do not hesitate to ask the Service Manager to show you on the vehicle what he is talking about. With that knowledge you can be sure to validate any other inspections you may get. Two items from our Core Values in our Mission Statement are Integrity & Educate which we try to apply with every customer.
