Spinolas is great the chocolate chip cookies are what got me. From there we have bought cakes for birthdays and bread for holiday diners. It’s really nice to have a place that goes above and beyond for you.

It was good… I had biscotti and a hot vanilla latte. Hubby had a chocolate-chip cookie cupcake, and he said that it was amazing, so I guess I’ll try that next time. The atmosphere was okay… Plenty of places to sit, so that was nice. Only problem was that none of the places to sit were very comfortable. They do have wifi, so that’s always a plus.

Came here for breakfast on a Saturday morning and they were out of most of the breakfast foods. We had scones and they were soggy on the bottom but otherwise they tasted good. The coffee was terrible. They had a fully automated espresso machine that was one step up from a vending machine. Everything in the display case looked good. So I guess it’s «come here for baked goods, not breakfast.»

Mmmmm yummm chocolate chip cookie heaven! We just Love the chocolate chip cookies! The lady locks are absolutely delicious too: very sweet! There’s about 3 cases full of goodies: about 75cents per cookie. I’ve never had their cakes– I’ll update if I do! Super friendly staff. They also serve hot/cold drinks and there are some chairs and tables to sit down and relax!

Just wanna say i always give people a second chance. But they knew this was a special day. I was my husband birthday. So with that said why would you give a cake to someone that was previously frozen. It tasted horrible.

For a long time the only thing missing close to home was a great little bakery. This little family run shop fills that hole perfectly. I’m ashamed to admit how many of their fantastic chocolate chip cookies I have eaten since they opened. These aren’t flat wimpy cookies either, they’re very thick and the chocolate chips are spread liberally throughout the dough. There is nothing quite like coming home to a box of cookies and a gallon of milk. And you definitely won’t break the bank. If you’re on Unilocal you probably like good food and supporting small business and Spinola’s should be your next stop when you want a cookie, cupcake, specialty coffee, latte, or just anything sweet and delicious. You can often find buy 6 cookies/cupcakes get 2 free coupons in local places where you find coupons I always pick up the ones at Murrysville Sports Zone. With the coupon it costs about $ 0.50 per cookie and that is a bargain.

Yes, the cake at our wedding was spectacular! The gluten free cake was delicious. All of our guests raved about the cake and no one could taste anything different with the gluten free one. For our top cake and I had her make chocolate with chocolate filling(since chocolate freezes well). Then we used a food saver to vacuum seal it. A year later, after it thawed, the cake was still delicious. We ate the whole thing, it was that good one year later!

I ordered cut out cookies for my daughters first birthday. I called ahead and was told that they could make a cookie in the shape of a number 1. I requested that they decorate them with pink and purple icing. What I got was a cookie that didn’t even look like a number 1. It looked like something a child made. The decorating was also amateur and child like. The taste was ok but I was embarrassed to have these out at her party.

I recently found out about Spinola’s and was happy to hear of a bakery closer to my home. I went last week to try them out and have to say sorry, but I just wasn’t very impressed. I love cupcakes. When I read about the flavors they have on their website I was looking forward to trying some. I was surprised at how small the place was, only 2 cases, one filled with almost all cookies, and the other with cupcakes and a few other items. so I picked 4 different cupcakes. I was disappointed when I opened the bag later that day. They are really small. So my first try was a Boston cream… it had the usual Boston cream chocolate icing on top which was good, and a little spot of whipped cream in the center of the icing. I cut into the cupcake expecting that wonderful Boston cream filling I love, and there was nothing. I was really expecting a filling. Instead it was a very dry plain yellow cake. Almost tasted stale. The sweet n salty cupcake was also the same dry cake. It had white icing with a pool of caramel sauce in the middle of the white. I did not taste salt. I had two chocolate cake based cupcakes, which were also dry. One was turtle and one was chocolate overload. Again, filling wouldve been great. I like sweet sugary icing, which they have, but I noticed it was a little«gritty»…I could hear the sugar between my teeth while I was chewing… kind of like sand. In addition to the cupcakes I ordered a piece of tiramisu and a piece of salty Caramel cheesecake. The tiramisu had good texture, but was sweeter than any other I’ve tasted. Really too sweet for tiramisu in my opinion. Finally, the cheesecake was the best of everything. It was very good, but unfortunately it’s a bar pan cheesecake, not a traditional round cheesecake. Service was friendly, but i wish she wouldnt have shoved the tiramisu and the cheesecake into the same small container… the tiramisu was half smashed Glad i wasnt serving it to ompany Buckeyes looked good and the chocolate chip cookies looked great… wish I would have gotten one to try. Sorry, spinola’s, I wanted to love you since I live nearby, but you got nothing on Oakmont bakery… I love their cupcakes, and just about everything else about them… I will continue to make the drive there.

This is the second time we’ve ordered from Spinolas and we won’t return. We showed them the exact item we wanted in a Pinterest page and both times they made amateur looking substitutions — instead of fondant, they made icing look a likes. Instead of the design requested they did what they wanted and the end result looked like a preschooler made them. When emailed about our disappointment never even got the courtesy of a response. If you want professional looking cupcakes and cookies, don’t go here. Regret ever leaving Oakmont Bakery. Lesson learned.

I had a Living Social deal for Spinola’s and I was not disappointed. I’m a sucker for cupcakes, and there were many options — all of which were very good. I’ve tried several other cookies, Buckeyes, etc., and there was nothing that I did not like. I have gone back since, and I definitely see Spinola’s as an above-average bakery when it comes to what’s available in Monroeville or Murrysville(and outside of the city in general). There are a few other bakeries that I would place above Spinola’s in the Pittsburgh region, but I’m glad that I have this one so close to me!
