Welcome to Temecula Valley Neurosurgery. Our neurosurgeons, Dr. Bret B. Abshire and Dr. Daniel L. Friedlich, provide state of the art and comprehensive spinal and cranial care.

Both surgeons are Board Certified in Neurosurgery with a combined surgical experience of over 23 years.

Our neurosurgery clinic is located in Murrieta, and we are committed to performing the highest of quality surgical treatment for disorders of the spine and brain in the Temecula Valley and surrounding areas.

Our mission is to provide excellence in the treatment of complex spine and brain disorders with an emphasis on patient care, patient privacy and wellness.

Bret B. Abshire, M. D.

Business Owner

Dr. Abshire was raised in Fallbrook and moved to Temecula after completing his Neurosurgical Training at the Cleveland Clinic and a Fellowship in Complex Spinal Surgery in Tampa, Florida in 2000.

His neurosurgical interests involve revision spinal surgery, minimally invasive surgery, and scoliosis surgery.

Dr. Abshire obtained his undergraduate degree from U.C. San Diego in 1990, and went on to obtain a Master of Science degree and Medical Degree from the Chicago Medical School in 1994.

Dr. Abshire is certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons and is a member of the AOA Honor Medical Society, Congress of Neurosurgeons, American Association of Neurological Surgeons, and the Western Neurosurgical Society. Additionally, he serves on the Scientific Advisory Board at Alphatec Spine.

His hobbies include following Formula 1 racing, race car driving, golf, skiing, and spending time with his family.
