History

Established in 1915.

Mr. George A. Jenkins founded Jenkins Mortuary in 1915 with the phone number of 222, and was available to families 24 hours a day. Mr. Jenkins offered both horse-​drawn and automobile hearses in the early years. His son-​in-​law, Vaughn C. Soffe, joined the business in 1938; thus, the blended name of Jenkins-​Soffe. Mr. Soffe passed away in December 2004, but his strong committment to family service lives on with his sons and grandsons.

Now, with over 93 years of experience and service to the communities of Utah, coupled with five generations of family dedication, the name Jenkins-​Soffe represents tradition, committment to the community, and personalized service to individuals and families. Our Salt Lake central valley and south valley locations, combined with our comprehensive experience in all areas of funeral service, allow those we serve affordable options in arranging services for loved ones.
