Fantasy Bridal is located in Murray, UT, and for over 25 years we have been helping Utah brides find the perfect dress for their special day. We carry over 400 bridal gowns, including 300 different contemporary styles and 100 different modest styles. Our goal is to listen to every bride and provide a gown that meets their exact specifications.

We are your one-stop shop for head-to-toe dressing. We provide on-site alterations to ensure the perfect fit, as well as gown preservation services and coordinating ensembles. After your wedding, simply bring your gown, veil and headpiece back to us for preservation services. Appointments are required.

History

Established in 1983.

Annette Riccardi began Fantasy Bridal, about 25 years ago, migrating from a ready-to-wear consignment store into a full-service, new gowns only bridal store. The bridal manufacturers 25 years ago, offered very few, fully modest bridal gowns. She saw a need in the modest market, for a cohesive modest-fill, because the t-shirt drop ins offered during that time frame were a blemish to the beautiful gowns with intricate laces. As the sole proprietor, seamstress, consultant, etc., she designed beautiful custom modest fills that looked like the dress had never been altered. Fantasy Bridal moved to a new location in Murray, Utah in 2014 and we are excited about our new location with a runway!

Business Owner

Stacy Van Dusen began working in the family business, at the age of 16. During college and summer breaks, she spent her time working in the bridal store by pressing gowns, doing bookwork, handling inventory, or completing any other task as needed. In 1989, she completed her Bachelor’s degree at Westminster College in Accounting, and spent the next 10 years working in the banking industry; the last 7 years for Morgan Stanley.

Tiring of the corporate world, Stacy began working full time with her mom in 2002 at Fantasy Bridal. Together Stacy and Annette have taken Annette’s original vision for the business and have expanded it.

This place was a nightmare. My sister went today and had a horrible experience. She made an appt and was greeted by an very over zealous sales person. She brought 5 dresses. My sister tried them on and listened to the sales person try to sell her on all of them. She liked a couple a lot but ask to try on a few more. The sales person went to «look for more» and was gone for a long time. She came back and apologized for being gone so long and said there weren’t any more that she could find. We were so surprised. My sister said there are hundreds of dresses? There has to be some more I can try. By the way she is 5′ 9″ size 10. So you would think there would be a lot of options… So the girl tried to sell her more on the 5 dresses she had there. And when my sister asked again to try more dresses she was denied and told her time was up. The appt was supposed to be 90 min. It has been 65 min. So my sister ask her about that and the sales person said sorry we have more people coming in and do you’ll have to be done. We ask her why she didn’t get 90 min. She said sorry. We are short staffed and others are coming. By the way, at this point my sister, this worker and the manger and another worker at the counter are the only ones in the store. It was crazy. It was like they didn’t want to sell her a dress. She is the sweetest calmest person and this experience ruined dress shopping completely for her. It was bizarre. Don’t waste your time. You probably won’t get to try any on. My sister also asked if she could come back tomorrow and show one dress to me. They said they were too busy but we could come and see if maybe there was time to try it on. But there was no guarantee. Worst customer service ever. Especially when you are considering spending $ 900 plus on a dress. Do not waste your time. There are too many delightful boutiques that actually want your money. This place is more of a nightmare than a fantasy.

The people that work here are very rude. I was only asking a simple question about accommodations and what they do for a fitting and the manager emailed me with a snarky response about how «they» are different then other bridal shops and «they» are for a certain type of religious preference. i was blown away. what a rude lady

Fantasy Bridal is AMAZING! The staff are so helpful and it is the largest selection of dresses in Utah for both modest dresses and regular dresses. Jessalyn helped me and she was the most helpful and sweetest lady that I could have asked for! Definitely make a stop here because it’s the only place you need to go!

I wasn’t particularly impressed with the service at Fantasy. Instead of having the help of the consultant, we were given free reign to look around the store. All the dresses were in bags, which made it difficult to see and picture the look. It is already near impossible to get a good idea of what a wedding dress looks like for real when it is hanging on a hanger. They tend to look like lacey circus tents, all of them. It would have been very helpful to have the consultant interact more through this initial walk through.
Once trying on dresses, the bride I was helping was able to find some nice ones. There were a few that the bride considered, but these were considerably higher priced than the others. There were others, however, that did not look wedding appropriate at all. We referred to these as «Dancing with the Stars» dresses. They were more evening gown than wedding dress. They looked cheap, but were as expensive as others we had seen at smaller boutiques.
The last issue I had was the pushiness of the staff. Multiple consultants that had not been working with us came over to push the sale. This was smothering and caused us to just want to get out of there.

If I could give this place no stars I would… My consultant was the biggest asshole. She picked out dresses that fit my «body type» and wouldn’t let I or my mom pick out any dresses to try on. I made an appointment and ended up spending less than an hour there. If I told my consultant that I didn’t like something about a dress she would immediately say over and over again ’ well you don’t like the dress lets go get it off’. Not only that but she was rude to my mom. My mother kept pulling off dresses that she liked (which is what I asked her to do) and my mom would bring them over and the consultant would say something like «she said she didn’t like THAT style of dress» or «that dress won’t fit her body type» she was rude and disrespectful talk about me with another consultant. I didn’t even get asked when I was ready to be done, she just decided my appointment was over. Needless to say the experience was ruined, I ended up leaving in tears and I will not be going back there.

I had excellent experiences at Fantasy Bridal. I booked an appointment the week of Thanksgiving 2014 for my first look at wedding gowns. Since my family was in from out of town, I had a large group of people with me (Mom, sisters, niece). I let me attendant know of any concerns I had as well as my budget and what I was looking for. She did a great job picking out gowns for me to try on, being a support for me when family pushed/pressured and generally assisting me. I never felt rushed and we were there for at least 2 hours. It was somewhat difficult for me as my late Grandmother made my sisters’ wedding gowns and so I was a bit emotional due to that. The owner, also a seamstress, came out and spoke to me as I was trying to decide and offered me kind words and it seemed to be just what I needed to make my decision. I picked my gown out that day. I didn’t need to order it as I bought it on sale off the rack but it still needed some alterations.
I will say, I would have preferred someone call me to let me know when I should be scheduling alterations. I called 6 weeks out and found out that I would have to pay a rush fee to ensure it would be in time. Having not bought a wedding gown before, I didn’t have a clue about alterations & the timeline. I got in easily for my next appointment and again, those assisting me were very helpful. The dress was finished much faster than I expected, even faster than the date they gave. I went in for my final fitting and there were a few issues that they needed to fix. Luckily, they fixed them on the spot & I was able to take my dress home that day. I also bought my veil from them. The dress fit perfectly on my wedding day & I couldn’t have been happier with it!

I just got my wedding dress from here last month. I went to about 5 different stores — ALL had different vibes. I went to some stores that were super expensive and some moderately priced, so obviously you get what you pay for. I thought this was a great middle of the price range store. I went to some stores that were super cheap (and you could tell by their dresses) and I went to some stores that were super expensive (over $ 5,000 — didn’t care too much about the price — I just wanted to find my «perfect» dress.
I was recommended to this store by my sister in-law and her dress was gorgeous. anyway — I had to fix my dress to fit me. anyway, I went to this store first — found a dress I liked and then after going to about 5 different stores, (to make sure there wasn’t a better dress) I came back and found my perfect dress!
I live in California, and was getting married in Salt Lake and had a LOT of alterations — every time I flew back, I stopped in — I told them I wanted beige under the lace at the top — they did exactly what I told them, but I ended up not liking it — so they changed it. After coming back a few more times (which was hard since I was coming in from another state) they finished my drerss and I LOVEEEEED how my dress turned out.
I thought this place was amazing. awesome prices, great help — I do wish they had gave me suggestions on the alterations because I’m not a designer and know nothing about dresses — so the first time, I told them to put «skin color» under the sleeves and it looked like I had plopped random sleeves on a strapless dress (yuck) but i told them to do that — so it was my fault… and then when I wanted it fixed they did a greaaaaaaat job!
I would definitely recommend this place!

I bought my dress from Fantasy Bridal a few years ago, but I would not recommend them to anyone. However my first visit was great. When I went in to try on dresses the sales assistant was very pleasant and helped me find the perfect dress for me. In fact I loved it so much I didn’t even go anywhere else.
My next visit was for alterations. It went fine until the end. My parents were originally going to pay for the dress but we had a falling out so I was going to need to pay myself (which I was fine with) but I had very little money and decided not to get the poofy skirt thing (obviously I don’t know the real term) that I was originally going to purchase through them. At that point the girl who had been doing my fitting became very snarky and making me feel stupid. She told me that the dress may not fit as well if I got a different skirt. Which would have been great for her to tell me if she had been nice about it. I left the store bawling.
My 3^rd and final visit was to try on my dress and take it home. For some reason they scheduled me right at their lunch time and when I went to try on the dress the cover up I had gotten that attached to the dress looked ridiculous! It was hooked onto the dress in the wrong spot. It was an easy fix that I ended up doing myself at home, but the part that bothered me was that it obviously looked off and all the women just stood there saying how great it looked and rushing me out of the store.
I wish that I could look back at this experience with fond memories but unfortunately Fantasy Bridal made it less of a fantasy and more of a nightmare.

I went in with my daughter yesterday and was greeted by a snarky, rude assistant who gave me a disgusted look for not knowing the price range of the dresses or what I should be prepared to pay. She also made ignorant comments to my daughter while in the changing room. Another sales girl tried to recover the fiasco, but it was too late for us. We will take our business elsewhere.
I would NOT recommend this place to ANYONE, EVER!

I was very disappointed in the service I received at Fantasy Bridal. They were rude, and not customer oriented at all. They tried convincing me out of certain gowns I wanted to try on and then when I found something I liked they said they didn’t know if they could have it done in time for my bridals or possibly even my wedding day. Then when I had made the decision to not buy a dress from their store they said they would call alterations for me and make sure it could be done in time for me. They also did not seem to know what they were talking about when it came to custom alterations I wanted done.
I would not recommend this store.

Fantasy Bridal has the best selections for any type of dress you want and great prices! I have been rushing to find the perfect dress because I’m getting married really soon and I found exactly what I wanted let alone they were willing to work with me on payments since I had to pay bills this paycheck but they really went up and beyond for me! I’m really grateful for their professionalism and how they were really easy and fun to work with!
