History

Established in 2004.

Proprietors Michael and Melissa Ninos opened V Restaurant and Bar in 2004 as a welcome addition to the Murphys California dining scene.

Immensely popular since its inception, V offers the most upscale dining experience in Calaveras County. They have been able to entice outstanding chefs into their kitchen, including Bob Anderson of the Ahwhanee Hotel in Yosemite, Daniel Murray Executive Chef from the Den of Hollywood in West Hollywood and currently Chef Beverly Torrez-Petty. In 2011 the Ninos’ opened V Bistro and Bar to offer a casual European style eatery. Both are adjacent to the Victorian Inn, owned by the Ninos’ since 2001.

Michael has restaurateur in his blood; his parents opened The Collegiate in Alfred, NY more than 60 years ago and the Alfred Coffee Shop, still owned and operated by the family.

Meet the Business Owner

Melissa N.

Business Owner

Melissa was a corporate bar and service trainer for Friday’s and Longhorn Steakhouse Restaurant before moving to Murphys. She also opened Piazza Home Décor, another successful Murphys business.

The Ninos’ philosophy is to create an enjoyable atmosphere, a place they themselves would hang out. Melissa commented, «The best part of what we do here, is watching people have fun, and meeting new friends along the way.»
