Super fun. The Middle Earth theme makes for a great venue for a pint or two and a fun supper. Kitchen is dinky, but what they do, they do well. 15 taps cover interesting local options, excellent regional, and a great selection of international and further afield domestic micros. Bring the spouse, special friend, kids, or just yourself, but get ye to The Green Dragon.

This place is fantastic! First, it’s family owned, so you feel right at home! All of the food is fantastic and the portions are large for the price. The place is smaller, but it’s so good! I cannot say enough good things! An older gentleman at the bar told us to sit wherever we’d like, and our service was very prompt. We did not have to wait for refills. When I was taking pictures the ladies joked with me and I thought it was nice for them to WANT you to take pictures and have fun! We were asked 2 times how our meal was, and it was AMAZING! I ordered the fig preserve and pear sandwich, and even my husband liked all the flavors. We will definitely be back! And we will bring our daughter next time!

Came for lunch on a Saturday, and was pleased with the interior and small feel of the place. Not many tables, so get there early! I got the ploughman’s lunch, which was perfect for my low-​carb diet. My girlfriend got a pint and pastrami sandwich, which she loved. The feel of the place is great, and the food tasted fresh and was very filling.
The servers were all decked out in attire fitting to the setting, and were all very jovial and polite. There were about 6 people working (one for every table it seemed) but they were all tending to the bar and it was hard to get noticed for a refill or a check. Had to flag someone down each time, but they were always really nice about it and apologized. Parking seemed sufficient in the back lot, and it was easy to get into and out of.

First visit was a pleasant one.
Yes, this place is small, so you may not find a seat. But it’s definitely achieved the cozy hobbit-​hole vibe.
I agree with one Unilocaler that the décor isn’t particularly professional or accurate – the maps hanging on the walls can be bought in stores and aren’t made to look very genuinely old/​weathered. Nevertheless, I appreciate the effort and really enjoyed my stay.
The food was tasty and they serve many interesting choices. Not just plain white-​bread and cheese, they put effort into their food preparation for sure.
I can see how people have had issues with getting refills/​attention, as we were served by the entire staff it seemed. We didn’t have one dedicated server it felt like. But I didn’t feel neglected, and we were offered refills, etc.
I would really love to come back here to relax and enjoy a drink and sandwich. It really did feel like a cozy pub, the atmosphere was quite jovial. I wish I lived closer, I would definitely come back. There were several menu options I debated ordering, so that’s always a good thing!

Brought my wife here for a drink on Friday night. I’m a fan of craft and import beers and a fan of LotR.
The LotR theme that this place sports is not really what I expected. It was mildly disappointing, since it isn’t done professionally. Imagine something similar to what you would expect for a kid’s LotR themed birthday party.
The menu was small, but the food was pretty good for soups and sandwiches. The beer selection was better than I expected, and the saving grace for this place.
There was an awkward moment with the owner when he was tending the bar and my wife and I mentioned that it was our first visit and the response was «Oh, ok.» then he just walk away. Needless to say, we were a bit surprised by that response. The younger service staff that we dealt with were much friendlier.
The service staff all disappeared at one point. We wanted to get drink refills and hang around for a while, but we eventually gave up on waiting for someone to offer service (we were never offered a drink refill, not even once) and decided to get our check and leave. Once we made that decision, we still had to wait quite a while to get a check.

Truly a unique and magical experience. The staff is lovely and seems to truly care about the patrons. Great food and drinks! Lord of the Rings fan or not, The Green Dragon is definitely worth visiting. I recommend the French dip sandwich!

HARDEST REVIEW EVER!!! I want everyone to know how AWESOME this place is, but I DO NOT WANT YOU TO COME HERE!!! This place is TINY TINY TINY. They have like 6 tables. No joke. So if all you jerks come here, then I won’t be able to come here and enjoy a pint. Stay away from this marvelously magnificent place!!! I LOVE IT TOO MUCH TO SHARE IT!!!

I love this place. Quaint little pub with delicious food and great atmosphere. Playing cards and games around the community table strangers quickly become friends.

Took the family to dinner knowing the menu was not extensive. We were pleasantly surprised with the different flavor combinations of ingredients that are mostly acquired locally.
The beer selection is a bonus and the GDPH will soon begin to brew their own. I look forward to giving it a try.
Our server did a fine job of balancing when and when not to drop in and check on us and everyone was very pleasant.
We will return to give more plates a go, trying additional beers and look forward to seeing this family friendly restaurant/​pub grow.

Excellent small place with a great atmosphere right next to the Murfreesboro greenway. They have limited food but what they do is done very well. The beer selection is always on point and constantly rotating drafts keep it fresh. Also check out the bottle menu which has great options. This is definitely a spot for beer lovers. Make sure you get here early enough though, they aren’t open late.

Great place for a drink, excellent selection and flights are always different. Food was simple, but quality is high. Not many tables, so show up early for dinner. Good atmosphere for a couple friends or for the family with kids. The hobbit pub was a unique experience. Ask for Heather.

All I can say is great service and the best service I have had in a long time. The place is a small gem in Murfreesboro. We didn’t get a chance to eat the food but did have a brief couple of ciders. Cool spot and great theme!!!

The place is on the smaller side and is always packed, but the food is super fresh and local and the beer selection is insane.
They have a fruit and cheese platter that goes well with the wine sampler (or by itself).

We’ve been many many times. The food is excellent. The food is always fresh and the service is excellent.

This is a very small Lord of the Rings themed restaurant by the Greenway that serves craft beer and some sandwiches, although I think people come here to drink the craft beer. I bet you at night this place gets packed. There is a bar and a handful of tables and some people were drinking some beer and talking to the bartender.
Parking is beyond plentiful as it appears this place is in part of a warehouse. Maybe they make the beer here?
I feel bad but I do not get the big deal about this place, maybe for Murfreesboro it is amazing and I am so glad they have a craft beer place. If you like Lord of the Rings or whatever the theme here is, then you will be amused by the outfits the owners wear, the music and the cave like feeling. If you like craft beer, you will love this place. If you want food, they have food but not a lot and it is okay. The service was pretty terrible, but I am pretty sure its because we came in the middle of the day.
The cheese plate was great and she even wrote down what all the cheese were. I had tomato soup with a cheese sandwich which was okay, although presented in a beautiful bowl and that was nice. My friend had a salad which was small. I though it was pretty pricey for what we got. I wished they had some options like a burger, they would probably make mad money if they had some more bar food choices.
My main issue was that the service was bad but it changed as soon as shift change came. It looks like an elderly couple owns the place and they were chatty with each other and staring into space, at the expense of waiting on us. We came at 2 pm on a weekday and there was one other table and two people drinking at the bar. I wanted water half the time and she never noticed, even after I put it on the edge of the table. I even desperately looked in their direction for the longest and, the elderly man never even looked in our direction. Then I watched him drink a shot, of beer I am assuming, and continue to talk to the people around him. Then bam, the waiters came in and the service instantly became great so maybe the issue is that the owners dont normally wait on people.
Also, bonus points for the grandson (assuming thats who it was) sitting in a chair jamming out and looking at a book the whole time. The kid seemed like a mini Einstein with his facial expressions and demeanor. They even tried to coax him to play with some kids in a tiny corner of the room with legos but he was in the zone and wasnt having it.

I’d heard lots of good things about Green Dragon Public House and decided to check it out with some friends. Absolutely loved it!!!
What a unique restaurant for Murfreesboro!!! The menu is great and has some very unique offerings. I tried the apple Brie sandwich— delicious!!!
The beer and cider list is comprehensive and varied. Lots of offerings unique to Murfreesboro.
Lastly, the restaurant itself is cozy and inviting.
Will definitely return!

I cannot express how much we enjoyed our dinner. Hobbits, wizards, elves and humans alike were gathered for great ale, food, and conversation. I will definitely be back to the Green Dragon!

O.M.G. I’m dreaming of this place already!!! We started with the cheese plate. It comes with apples, apricots, bread, 3 cheeses, and a pepper jelly. Never thought I’d call that combo good, but wow! What an amazing pairing. After, I got the soup of the day which was split pea and ham (which sounds awful), and it was wonderful! I also got the Ploughman’s lunch, which comes with cheeses, roast beef and/​or turkey, chutney, and the best homemade Irish bread.
This place has community seating, so find a chair and get to know your neighbors! Super friendly, with light music.

Oddly enough I found this bar by Unilocaling the word «vegetarian.» It is by no means a vegetarian restaurant but that is a good thing (conservative coworkers be damned)! There: three more hits for the word vegetarian.
What it is, is the most random beer bar amidst a sea of chic fil a bojangles, focused on Imperials, casks, and waiters with pointy ear falsies. The servers and hosts were all very lovely as were the patrons that we shared a table with. I thoroughly enjoyed both of my draft stouts, served at perfect temperature.
Wish it was open later and had made more corned beef for st Patrick’s day. Last call at nine?! Would have stayed here forever.
I have to encourage a place like this in boring Murfreesboro, so four stars it is. It’s a little smelly though and does have an oddly placed kiddie corner reminiscent of a pediatrician’s waiting room. Just so you aren’t surprised.

First time visit. Small pub feeling. The «Middle Earth» theme is cute. Love the wooden tables. I tried a Hot Pastrami. Was delicious. Wish I had went with soup instead of the salad that comes with the sandwich. Little bland. Portion sizes are a good size.
Service was very polite and friendly.
