The Bunganut Pig Pub & Eatery

Went here last night, and the service was horrendous. Walked in at 9pm and didn’t get a drink in my hand until 10pm. Stood at the bar for 20 minutes trying to order, but it was understaffed and the bartenders were bitter about it — was acknowledged with «just a sec» about six times while they served regulars instead. Finally convinced a waitress to take our order, then it was 40 minutes from there for our drinks to arrive (5 beer bottles, a Guinness, and two cocktails). We might not have even gotten them that «quickly» except we asked the waitress to close our tab which reminded her that our order was still out… We watched her pour our drinks herself since the bartenders couldn’t be bothered. We left immediately after getting our tab back, even though we each had to pay a $ 7 cover for the privilege of standing around not drinking. Band was good though at least.

Just pour the beer damn it… At 5pm, with just a handful of people at the bar, it was hard to tell who was working and who was a customer. Finally, a server said we could sit anywhere. We sat and waited. Finally, they took our order. Two beers, please. And 10 mins later = no beers. (You just pour a beer in a glass, right?). At 5:20pm, I had been in a basically empty bar for 20 mins (for real!) and still had no beer. We were about to just leave, but I spotted our beers across the room. We went to another place for our second beer.

Been coming to Murfreesboro for over a year now for work and I’m sad to say I was just introduced to this place. One of the best hamburgers in town, great relaxed atmosphere making me feel very welcomed to the point I had to come back the very next night and enjoy it again. Shannon was bartending and made me feel like I was a regular from the get go. Definately recommend you give them a visit!

Went today had a awesome time. Met up with some old friends. Service was great. Shanon the manager was very attentive even off duty. Fun staff. Dean was a great bartetnder. Music was nice volume for conversation. Thanks guys

What can I say… it’s The Pig! Love The Pig! Great bands, great food, great service and atmosphere. Patio seating that is fantastic especially on these fall nights. Most people in The Boro already know and love The Pig. If you haven’t stopped in there yet, you should.

First and the last time I’ll go there. The service was bad, the place was empty. she kept walking past us never asking if we needed anything else, never got a refill. The food including the starter took an hour to get to our table and it was only the two of us. The food was overcooked and bland. I did like my drink but never got a chance to get another one. Sorry but no thanks

We visited last night for our first time in a while. We were looking for somewhere different with decent food and a cool atmosphere .We choose wrong !!. I usually don’t like to leave bad reviews and give benefit of the doubt but not this time. It was not our first time here but it had been awhile. When we walked in the place was empty except 1 table and a few people at the bar. The bartender told us to have a seat anywhere. We took a high top 1 table over from the other party. The waitress came out talked to the other table and walked away without acknowledging us. This happened 2 – 3 times before she took their order and left. We tried to get her attention but couldn’t. More people started coming in and getting waited on and after 15 minutes I had to go to the bar and ask for a server. When we finally got a waitress she was very friendly, but she was one of only 2 in the place that was now getting packed. This place has a lot of steak dishes and I knew I wanted the steak and rolls but of they were out of steak. I never understand when an independent restaurant runs out of something, especially when they are next to Kroger. So I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and fries. My boyfriend ordered shepherds Pie. It took an unusually long time for our food to arrive and when it did I got a fried chicken sandwich and burnt fries. I asked the food runner to see about new fries but figured I’d be fine with the fried chicken. Wrong. It was soaking in grease that tasted rancid. When the server came back I explained about the chicken and that I was going to just eat it even though it was wrong (we had already been there
long enough and usually aren’t complainers) and told her just to bring me the quickest thing on the menu. She said that was the grilled chicken. Then she brought out my reorder of fries which were again burnt — and btw not steak fries as stated but wedges .We are not picky People and an overcooked fry I can handle but both orders were black inside and out. You couldn’t even break them .When my chicken finally arrived it was tough and crunchy on the outside and had cheese on it which wasn’t on the menu .I was never offered another side after 2 baskets of Fries were taken back to the kitchen, the first by a woman who appeared to be a manager. But we were still charged full price. My boyfriends shepards pie was made with hunks of chopped up burnt potato wedges mixed with mashed potatoes. And of course when we went to reorder beer the mayday tap was empty. We don’t hold that against them as you can’t control how much beer you’ll sell and can’t just run next door and grab that. On top of it all they attempted to charge us a cover since we stayed past the start of the band! (yeah not our fault — a 2 hour bad dinner wasn’t our plan) Conclusion — staff was friendly. Poor management not staffing more help on a Saturday night or keeping food inventory .Band seemed like they could be good but instruments drowned out the singer. Won’t go back or advise friends to do so

Great local place to grab a drink, a bite to eat or both. Super nice and attentive staff.
Have never had a negative experience here.
Great live music venue too. It’s just big enough to accommodate mid size groups, yet small enough where you won’t be overlooked.
The meals have always been top notch, and the chefs don’t mind accommodating simple special requests.

Great neighborhood bar. Good food. Great wait staff. Friendly atmosphere. Live music most nights.
Restaurants come and go, but the Pig has been around a long time. They’ve done this by changing with the times and improving over the years. In the past, the Pig was one of the last restaurants in the Boro that allowed smoking, but that’s all changed-it’s been smoke free inside for some time now which makes a huge difference.
I haven’t gone through the new menu yet, but I’ve really liked what I’ve tried so far. Most bars do a satisfactory job on the burgers/​fries/​wraps thing and the Pig is better than most on your basic pub food. But I’ve been eating healthier lately so I ordered a grilled chicken entrée with veggies on the side. Bars known for pub grub usually have mediocre healthier food. Much to my surprise the chicken was really good and the roasted veggies were well cooked and full of flavor-​prob the best I’ve had at this kind of restaurant.
Best of all, they have Guinness on tap. Now that’s a proper pub!
Love the patio as well. And the Pig is one of the only local bars that not only tries to have good live music most nights, but they actually take good care of the musicians.
If you haven’t been to the Mboro Bunganut Pig in a while-​check em out. It’s not the same old Pig.

Good service. Very personable bartender, can tell there’s lots of pride here. Super clean operation as well. I didn’t order food but the beer was cold and the bartender (Reyna, Raina?) was excellent.
Am in the area for work and will definitely be back. Recommend as a clean, comfortable local spot.

I went here yesterday with my husband and a friend. We had a couple beers and decided to order some food to split. We chose the curly fries with cheese and jalapeños instead of bacon. There was really nothing special about them. Kind of typical bar food. Our server was friendly and checked in with us often. Otherwise, nothing about this bar really stood out enough for me to want to go back again.

My wife and I had a terrible experience on many levels here at New Year’s Eve 2013. This was my first and last visit.
The highlight of the evening was meeting a table full of other people; we met some nice customers that night.
It turned out that both I and this other group had called ahead to see what the cover was. We both were told $ 10 if you walk up to the door or $ 20 ahead to reserve a table. Oops. For $ 10, you could stand up all night and grab a seat if it came open; if you wanted to sit down all night, you had to pay $ 20.
After we had been sitting a while, the staff told us the cover was $ 20. We pointed out what they said on the phone. The waitress argued. We asked for the manager; the waitress said she was outside on a smoke break (not professional to say so). The manager came and finally conceded we could pay $ 10, making it sound like a great concession. My wife said the atmosphere was like a used car lot.
Then, the kitchen lost the orders for everyone at the table.
As a farewell slap, when I paid the bill, the waitress went off with my card but came back and said, sorry, but they told her to add an 18 percent tip since it was a holiday and she would have to redo the bill. I had planned to pay her well anyway since servers live off their tips. But it would have been nice to have known this up front instead of having it added as a surprise after we had already eaten.

The same people that own the Bunganut Pig in Franklin bought this location a couple of years ago. I have been several times since. I have enjoyed the food I have eaten.

Lunched there today, Food was served hot and service was good. Not very busy for noon time.

I’m giving this place a star because the burger was good.
My husband and I chose Bunganut for our date tonight. We were seated, then the little waitress asked «Can I have a credit/​debit card?» My husband asked, «Why?» Her explaination was that people walk out a lot and she was covering herself. This kid had the nerve to say «What if YOU guys walk out without paying?» She was too stupid to realize she then made it very personal. I told her I’ve never heard of such a thing, but my husband gave his card (a card he hasn’t used in years — no money on it). My eyes told her I was LIVID. Whateverhernamewas (I didnt care to make anymore eye contact) knew she screwed up and tried to clean it up by saying, «If it offends you, you can take it back.» Thats when I knew it was not Bunganut policy! She had decided that the African American couple had better pay up front-​just in case. ??? I don’t even play that race card bull crap, but she pissed me off! She has no idea who she was dealing with. I am known to give amazing tips around the word! Then she made lame attempts to come back and see how we were. When we finished our meal, she had the nerve to ask if we wanted dessert. Right! We asked for our bill. Yes — you guessd it… she received no tip! Only written advice on the bill, «Never ask me to give a credit card up front when I’m having dinner.» I can see if it was just the bar, to run a tab. but dinner? NO.
I have dined in high end and even lesser restaurants around the world and this was a first.
I will never return!

Went here because my girlfriend’s Best friend has a band and they were playing there. So, the place is in a strip mall, it is as storefront kinda joint. We had a large group 15+ which took most of the wall area sitting. The drinks were good and the shots were good size. Our waitress was way to slow though. To her defense, it looked like she had half of the restaurant. So we decided to close our tab and just walk over to the bar and get our drinks.
The sound was ok. They had some issues with the sound system and there was no one there to help the band work it, since it is Bunganuts’ system.
Anyway, the food is bar food, but good the wings ahd a good taste. I tasted the club and it was huge, the fries were good too. No complaints there.
All in all, it was cool joint.

Cold Beer. Great fish and chips.
