The clerks at the Murfreesboro store need a personality transplant. I’ve shopped at the Marti and Liz in Tullahoma for years when visiting family. That store has friendly clerks that have always been a joy to shop with. The Murfreesboro store is exactly the opposite. The well-lit, spacious store cannot make up for such rudeness. And it started before I even entered the store. I had driven up and down the road in the pouring rain looking for the place, and finally had to call for directions. I mentioned that I was from out of town and was having a hard time finding the store. She immediately put me on hold. I pulled off to wait for her to come back on the line. When she did, she was condescending because I did not know the area. I explained that my GPS had taken me to the wrong spot. She asked if I knew where the Walmart was, and when I answered that I didn’t, she objected that Walmart was a BIGSTORE. Really??? Once I found the store from a better landmark, I found a couple of pairs of shoes I wanted to buy. But when I took them to the counter and asked if they could hold them for a minute, the other clerk said«No.» I explained that I had arthritis in my hands and couldn’t carry the shoes around with me while I shopped, but she still objected. Finally I figured out she thought for some reason that I was planning to leave the store and shop at other stores while they held the shoes. When I explained I was going to shop INTHESTORE, she agreed to hold my other selections at the counter, but was still very begrudging about it. I found another pair of shoes, and when I tried to check out my credit card wouldn’t work due to a fraud alert that kicks in sometimes when I’m shopping out of state. In the face of my embarrassment, the first clerk treated me like I was trying to pull something over on her. Both clerks’ faces would have cracked if they’d tried to smile, I think. They were unpleasant, unfriendly, and wholly unsuited to working with the public. The experience was so different than any of the wonderful businesses I’ve dealt with since I’ve been in Murfreesboro. I will never set foot in that store again, and plan to relate my experience to all my many friends and family who live around here.

Marti & Liz has saved my behind every time I need shoes for an event on the fly, and I am poor. I get fantastic, high-quality shoes and usually don’t spend more than $ 20. My only complaint is the radio station choice in the Murfreesboro location.

I say dear sir, discount gently used shoes at ridic prices… sign me up. I love the Marti and Liz out in the Boro because it doesn’t have as much traffic as some of the other stores. I got some good deals on some great flats and heels. Perfect for updating my Spring Wardrobe. Most shoes are around $ 10 to $ 30 a pop, so if you are a Gal on a Barely there Budget, you can be walking around in style — no bones about it! Also, if you have GIANTFEET(for a girl) the size 9 and up in this store is ample. I was able to try on a variety of shoes and not gaze upon the size 6 shoes with, «These Dreams» playing in my head. I was able to «be cute» my toes, no problem. This is a must see of the Boro. Not too bad, not too bad I say!
