I have been to Cookout several times. Always very tasty selections, up to taste and far exceeding the«Specialty» (read, OVERPRICED”) new eateries in the ‘Boro. My only objection is the VOLUME of the announcement to pick up you order when it’s ready. Yes, I know, I’m being picky). Great people, they LISTEN when the fountain drink station needs attention at all times. The building is ALWAYS clean, restrooms are always clean and serviced. Thank you for being in our fair city!

This was my first visit and was in a mood for a good burger. I was very disappointed in my food. The burger was mediocre at best. It was thrown together very sloppily and about like the dollar menu burger at McDonald’s. I asked the cashier a question about aarp or other discounts and she said she didn’t know, she made no effort to ask. Normally if you don’t know, you ask someone with a brain.

Best fast food restaurant in Murfreesboro! They have never gotten one of my orders wrong and they are fast and friendly! Cook Out is the«go to» restaurant!

Asked for a new corn dog because the one they gave me was burnt and black on the ends. They either didn’t replace it or gave me another burnt corn dog because it looked exactly the same. Who likes burnt corn dogs? Also, the staff wasn’t friendly and welcoming. They seemed annoyed instead of appreciative of their customers. I get that its a fast food joint, but customers are the reason they are getting paid.

Quite disappointed after reading the reviews, not sure what the hype is about. I would say expect nothing more than an average fast food experience. I had the cookout tray with a regular burger, coleslaw and fries as my two sides, and a shake. The meat was okay but the bun lacked taste, the fries were bland and the finely cut slaw a tiny white styrofoam cup wasn’t that good. On the bright side, the shake was good, there are many flavors to choose from. Unfortunately the shake won’t bring me back a second time.

We tried Cook Out for the first time Friday then got it for a second time on Saturday(and we aren’t big fast food eaters)! The burgers remind us of Five Guys, yet at much more reasonable prices. A regular burger is on the small side, but in combination with a tray that comes with two sides, it provides plenty of food. It tastes like a burger you’d make in your backyard grill. Same great smoked flavor for the hot dogs. I ordered one plain and did not add a thing to it as nothing else was needed. For the sides, I love their fries with cajun seasoning and their slaw. I’m pretty picky about slaw, but theirs is great. The cabbage is diced into small pieces and the flavor is very mild — not overly vinegar tasting or too heavy with the mayonnaise. The highlight of the meal, though, was the milkshake. I ordered a peanut butter one, and it tasted just like one from a local franchise where I grew up and have never been able to replicate from restaurants in the mid-state. It was thick with real peanut butter and the only bad thing about it was when it was gone! Cook Out offers great food that tastes homemade for very reasonable prices.

Now, I like this place. All my friends love this place. Their shakes are pretty good, and I’ve only heard positive things about it. That’s why I was disappointed when I ordered a burger and it had a small patty and only 1 leaf of lettuce. Why are they being so stingy with the lettuce? One thin, limp little sheet of green. Come on, man.

Usually like the food however the people that takes the orders always cuts tobogganing during the order rude and speak 90 mph. They interrupt you during the order and that is very annoying to no avail

We came by when on I-24 for other business because my husband had read a good review. Oh well. His burger order messed up twice. Hushpuppies burnt. Very neutral vinegar slaw. I thought my burger was dry but he got cheese and didn’t think so. Kinda reminiscent of frozen bulk burgers. The menu had more than we expected but we won’t be exploring it. Soda mixes were off too. Positive: meal for $ 11 for two, and fries weren’t bad, and it was the fastest messed up order we ever had filled.

We went here on opening weekend and were not impressed. In fact, my wife and I agreed that we would never come back. Well, we did try it again a few months later and it was like a completely different restaurant. Great burgers, spicy chicken sandwich is good. We like all the options for sides because you don’t have to always get French fries. And the peanut butter milkshake is the best. We have lunch there about once a week now and are never disappointed. Still giving 5 stars because I figure the opening weekend is not the best time to judge a place on.

When you factor in the price and the quantity of price it comes to a rating of 5 stars. I’m not telling you this is the best food you’ll get in Murfreesboro… I’m just saying it’s the most you’ll get for such a low price meal that still upholds decent quality. My favorite thing about Cookout is the burgers actually taste like they came from a back yard cookout and not a fast food chain. I get the burger every time.

I was pleasantly surprised about how tasty their burgers were!!! My first time there, the menu and the ordering process felt slightly overwhelming but the girl taking my order was very helpful and patient. This is possibly my newest, favorite burger joint. Go to this place especially if you are with a group because there is something for everyone.

Fast, super cheap, and greasy goodness! The cookout is definitely the best fast food deal in town. Where else can you get a quesadilla or hot dog as a SIDE?! It is not the healthiest place by any means, but if you want a fast $ 5 meal then this is your place. Try a cheer wine float with your meal. You won’t regret it.

Okay, so I don’t write a lot of reviews. I have to feel really strongly for something or against it in order for me to be compelled to write a review. I am very much a fan of The Cook Out in Murfreesboro. First of all, it’s clean, very economical and the food is good… that’s 3 out of 3. Secondly, I can’t believe the amount of food you get for the price and it’s GOOD. Did I mention it’s good? The service was quick and everyone was very nice. I was there during lunch and witnessed a steady stream of people coming in and they moving at a fast pace. You don’t wait long in the joint!!! Way to go The Cook Out. I think we have one downtown Nashville but I’d like to see more of these places pop up.

I rate it a 5 because it exceeds all expectations. I have it a 4 because the fries looked good but not amazing. I got a «huge» burger steak-style with cheese, onion rings and a fudge-caramel shake. The burger comes out piping hot, juicy and at least 2 inches thick. The onion rings are crunchy, thick, and plentiful. The shake is premium, very thick and has real vanilla. and VERY reasonably-priced. Beats every chain hands-down. You can easily have a GREAT meal for $ 6. Kids and grandparents and in-between will like it. Spacious and clean and nice décor.

Food is as good(if not better) than what you’d find at a large fast food chain. You also get a TON of food for the price you pay. Service is always good and the food comes out quick. The ambiance of crosses on the wall and christian music playing over the speaker can be a off-putting but a good Cheerwine float serves as a nice distraction.

I didn’t realize it was a chain until someone who lives in another state was familiar with the brand from a Facebook picture. Still chain doesn’t mean it’s bad! It may not be In-N-Out, but they certainly have choice going for them. The shake I had, Peanut Butter, was delicious. It’s quite a drive for me, but I’d be happy to come back if I’m in the area.

Opening night of a new restaurant. How glamorous! Really though, the place is fairly good, especially considering the price. The selections are what one might call standard American«summertime» fare; burgers, hotdogs, assorted chicken items, and pulled bbq plates. They have a pretty impressive milkshake list as well. The restaurant bills itself as «cooked outdoors style», and I’d have to agree based on what I tried. My burger tasted like something that would game off a grill at a park, or perhaps from the concession shack of a little league game. The veggies on the burger were of higher quality than I expected for the price. There are quite a few side items to choose from, and you’re able to pick two for a combo. I also opted for a shake, and it was definitely better than most shakes from fast food joints. The prices are very low as well; with most of the sandwich items being a couple bucks and nearly all of the sides only costing 99 cents. Their combos are slightly over 4 dollars. All in all, it seems a decent alternative to typical nationwide burger chains, especially if you’re wanting to spend very little. Opening up right next to several student apartment complexes was probably a brilliant decision on their part, as this is exactly the sort of place I would have loved to have next door during my broke college days.
