Shear Paradise Pet Salon & Spa

I’ve been taking my dog here for 7 years. The price has always been pretty reasonable. It went up 2x since the last 2 visits. Just today I took my dog in for his normal trim (short trim with any matting gets cut off). They finished him earlier than the normal time (instead of 4hrs, done in 2) As I’m about to pay the lady tells me «it’s gonna be $ 55». Keep in mind the normal $ 48 that I remember paying. I tell the lady «wow every time I bring him in the price goes up.» She goes to ask another lady (I think is the owner/​mgr) why it went up. The lady then says «it’s because of the matting, he had a lot of matting and it takes time to brush it out and that’s the regular haircut we do for your dog.» I then tell her that «the normal hair cut is to cut any matting off and why charge me extra money without even telling me a head of time?» All she could say was the same thing.
My point is this is not good business when I’m expecting to pay what I’ve been paying and NO ONE had the decency to tell me why or ask a head of time it it’s ok to charge extra for something I wasn’t aware of.
If she (owner/​mgr) went to a hair stylist and they usually charge $ 47 hair cut… then I tell her ok it’s gonna be $ 55 (AFTER the trim). I’m sure she would ask why didnt you tell me it would be more and wouldn’t want to pay that. Or go shop at Target and they charge an extra $ 7 at check out as a «service fee» for pushing buttons.
In the end… there was no sorry nor was there no accommodations said as far as I’ll credit you the next time and sorry for the mixup.
Well sorry you’ve lost a long time customer from not being a decent person in taking responsibility for charging extra that I wasnt aware of nor approved of.

We’ve been going to shear paradise for a little over 5 hrs. Claudia and her team are awesome! Right as we walk in the door, they know who our dog is and treat her like one of their own!
Quality — we’re always satisfied with our dog’s cut! And they’re always honest with us too!

Remarkably nice people who seemed to really like and care for my dogs. I loved the non-​cage environment, so much less stressful for my older dogs. Very reasonably priced. The best part was how beautiful my dogs look. I never look that good coming out of a salon.

This is a few weeks over due, but I just wanted to say how glad I am that we found shear paradise. Our family moved to the ‘burbs several months ago and had tried out several groomers for our pup– none of which measured up to the groomer we used in the city until now– and I have to say Shear Paradise surpasses all of my expectations, and is even better than our previous groomer. My pup looks great, smells great, and is super happy from getting to play with all the other dogs. I picked her up I’m pretty sure she was actually smiling! Also, the prices are very reasonable and the staff is friendly and sweet to the dogs. I highly recommend!

This is a great groomer. They fit me pretty quickly. The owner Claudia was really nice and helpful. They did a great job grooming my dog and really seemed to care. The price was fair. They also had some quality food and treats in front. I wouldn’t go anywhere else in the area.

My two standard poodles have been going to Claudia for many years. They adore her and her staff. They are gorgeous when they are groomed, I can’t imagine taking them anywhere else. Claudia and her entire staff are friendly, professional and love having the dogs around. In addition, they work hard for different rescues in the area.

I’ve been taking my two poodle mix dogs here for over 6 years and I have never been dissatisfied. Claudia and her crew are VERY skilled and are not your average grooming shop. Dogs are allowed to roam and play while they wait for their turn. Their cuts are always consistent but sometimes I let them be creative and have given my dog a Mohawk, dye their tail, or add a cute feather to their ear. In every case they have come home smelling amazing and super soft. Claudia also understands each dog’s needs and will recommend a visit to the vet if I slack in cleaning my dogs ears which are prone to infection. They have a boutique (howley street) inside that carries hand selected products chosen for quality which end up being cheaper than big box stores. And setting up an appointment is super easy, I just send a text and they reply with the next availability! Highly recommend!

Claudia and her staff are the best. Been taking my furry friends there for probably over 15 years. Wouldn’t take them anywhere else. My dogs have to sleep it off for a couple days after because they are so tired for how much fun they have there.

Very happy with Shear Paradise. I have a difficult to groom goldendoodle and I’ve been so happy with our last few appointments. I love that they don’t cage the dogs so they get to play while they aren’t being groomed. My dog loves going and that’s certainly a sign that they give him lots of love during his visit. He smells fantastic when he comes home. I started coming to this salon on a recommendation and I’m so glad I found it. I have to drive a ways to get there but it’s worth it!

I’ve been a client of Shear Paradise for 6 years. The last 5 years were great. Not sure what has happened to Claudia in the last year but she’s become very rude to me. She never smiles anymore and constantly acts like I’m annoying her. Not sure why I deserve that, especially since I’ve been supporting her business for 6 years and she gained several clients through me highly recommending her. Her salon does a great grooming job but if you’re looking for friendly service then I don’t recommend going here. Maybe her salon is too big and she’s overwhelmed. I’m trying to give the benefit of the doubt, but it’s very hard. I just want the old Claudia back!

Shear Paradise is amazing. The staff is friendly and very skilled with dealing with pets who suffer from anxiety when being groomed. The owner is kind and caring. I am so happy I finally found a groomer in the suburbs that is just as good as the ones I’ve used in the city. When I move back to Chicago, I will still come here because they are so great!

we have been taking our dogs to claudia ever since she opened. one of our dogs, at the time, had a problem at another place. she hated getting groomed. after one visit with claudia and the girls she was hooked. our dog jumps out of the car and runs in for her day of beauty. there are no cages, unless you ask for one, and my dog comes home looking and smelling awesome. they do a great job with the cut, even though i won’t let them put her in a lion cut. she is exhausted and has a good all around experience. i recommend shear paradise to anyone that has a dog or cat.

Claudia does an amazing job with both of my dogs. One in particular is extremely difficult to deal with, but she never gave up on him, even after he bit her. I love that my dogs are not caged while they wait their turn and after they’re done. Most importantly, they look great when she’s done with them! To top it all off, she is quite reasonable. I drive all the way out from the city just to go there and it’s worth it!

Claudia owns this fabulous pet salon in Mundelein! You can tell she cares for all of the pets at her shop just as much as she does your own. Both of my family’s Shih Tzus and my Yorkie visit Claudia once a month for their «spa» day. Our dogs have even visited Claudia’s house for a «vacation» while we have been out of town.
Our dogs always come home exhausted from all the fun they have, smelling great and looking fabulous. The thing I like most about her salon is that the dogs are not caged, so you don’t have to worry that your pooch is all sad and lonely, and they get a play date out of their experience!
Each dog always comes home with a bow or bandanna (gender/​breed appropriate) representing whatever the upcoming holiday is. The Salon also offers a bunch of additional treatments and services to pamper your dog as much as you desire. I never have to worry about our dogs when we bring them in!
