Since we are first time home buyers, we were recommended Legacy Inspection Group by our real estate agent. Sal and Carlos helped us out during our home inspection. Sal focused on the structure and foundation, while Carlos inspection applications, rooms, outlets, etc.
They were very professional and made us feel comfortable throughout this inspection process.

My wife and I were so impressed with both Bob and Duane’s attention to detail during our home inspection. I’m a realtor and attend all my buyers home inspections. When my clients are looking for a referral, Bob at Legacy is on the top of my list. I’m very careful about which business partners I refer my clients to. They’re all a reflection of me, and I want my clients repeat business. I know if important items are missed during the inspection, MY client referrals will be in jeopardy. What I like about the group at Legacy: 1. They never make the process feel rushed. They take their time and are more than willing to stop and explain items in further detail if they can see the prospective home buyer may be confused or have further questions. 2. They’re honest, have their eyes open and are thorough. 3. If something is uncovered that’s a big deal, they’ll be sure the home buyer understands that. They’ll give it the weight it deserves. 4. Bob is great at not only pointing out what’s wrong with the home, but how things work. Incredibly valuable, especially to first time home buyers. He’ll be sure to tell /​show you how to shut off the water, electricity etc. in case of emergency. Also terrific, Legacy has an extremely quick turn around time in getting the inspection report to the buyer and their attorney. It’s usually in everyone’s inbox before even leaving the property. I hired Legacy to do a home inspection on my first home purchase. As luck would have it, our offer was accepted the day we left for vacation so I had to hire them remotely and have a family member be there for the inspection. Suffice it to say I couldn’t have been happier with the inspection report Legacy sent. It was incredibly thorough and gave me the confidence I needed to know what issues needed to be addressed with the house. I would highly recommend them to anyone under contract to buy a home.

We used Legacy Inspection Group at the suggestion of our realtor when buying our new home in Chicago. Sal and Bob did the inspection. We have lived in condos before, but this was our first home. It was a great experience. Sal and Bob were very thorough and explained everything to me. I highly recommend them.

I chose Legacy Inspection Group based on the reviews I got off of Unilocal.The woman on the phone was extremely nice, and assigned us «Sal», who I assume to be the owner.
I was running about 10 minutes late to the inspection appointment and Sal was nice enough to start without me. He fixed the fluctuating water pressure due to the sellers removing a water softener and plugging the pipes. He seemed knowledgeable about many common household items and features.
Gave expectancy of life estimates of the roof and showed me where gas valves, water shut-​offs, ect were (first time home buyer, I know nothing about this stuff).
However, there were some blatantly obvious things that were missed…
When he asked me to look up in the attic to notice the small amount of ventilation, he failed to notice the wide open Gables that did not have screening and had unobstructed access to the outside for animals insects etc. (there were bees regularly flying in and out). These gables are the size of vented bay windows, not easy to miss.
He also missed a not so obvious issue with the electrical where when you turned on more than one light in the circuit, all of the lights dimmed (problem with the wiring).
Even after I pointed this out I had to ask two times for him to actually add it to the inspection report.
At the end, while going over the inspection report before he left, he was very impatient and condescending towards the females in the group, namely my mother and to a lesser extent my fiancé when they were asking questions about the report.
After thinking about it for a short while, I had my realtor call Legacy Inspection group to request a different inspector and to make it known about Sals lack of respect and demeanor.
My realtor received a call back a half hour later from Sal himself saying (paraphrased) «I’m not going to send anyone out, I’ll rip up the check if you want to use somebody else, otherwise deal with it.»
It was a pretty decent experience up until the inspection was over… If you use this group I would recommend requesting somebody other than Sal.

We recently used Legacy for two home inspections (we bailed on the first home we had a contract on — hence, the two inspections). They were all very knowledgeable and thorough and they checked EVERYTHING. They explained everything to us and walked us through every issue. For the second inspection, they even came back a few days later to look at the electrical panel for free when they couldn’t get into it the first time around. All-​around nice people with extraordinary service. I highly recommend them!

We’ve used Legacy twice and have been super impressed both times. The guys are always so nice and incredibly helpful. They are comprehensive without being reactionary. They explain everything in as much detail as I need. They helped us avoid buying a house that had a lot of hidden problems and made us feel great about the house we eventually bought. Paul and Dave on the first inspection and Dave and Bob on the second were early to the appointment, efficient and thorough during the inspection, and answered all of our questions. I will recommend them and use them again.
