I love Scotty’s Brewhouse, and was happy to see this sister(brother?) restaurant open in the new Courtyard not far from my mom’s house. I live in San Francisco now, but this will be great for when I visit family. And the service I got here today was brief(I ordered carry out for my room after a long day of travel and late night check-in) but very good. Victoria took my order, which came quickly. I had briefly glimpsed the menu on my phone and ordered 7 Tidals, which is my favorite thing on Scotty’s menu. When the order came, I was surprised to see they were eggrolls — I didn’t read past the first two words in my excitement and thought it was the buffalo chicken dip. Victoria was very apologetic and offered to refund me — hey, it was my mistake, so no way was I going to do that. Got to my room and gave them a try… ZOMG, yum! Dunno who had the idea to make the dip into eggrolls, but they are quite tasty. I look forward to having a full meal in the restaurant next time I visit.

The pizza was way under cooked and the dough has no taste of its own. The“nachos” looked and tasted like a train wreck on a platter. Atmosphere was noisy and couldn’t talk with the people at your table.

Welcome to Downtown Muncie, Three Wisemen! I am all about the revitalize downtown project, as I think there are some true gems that are hidden in this community. The décor and aesthetic of Three Wisemen is great, laid back. Somewhere I definitely could spend an afternoon drinking. They have an amazing outdoor area that looks like it will be prime in the warmer months. The beer selection is not only their home brews! They have a variety of beers on tap as well as some homemade cocktails that seem pretty delicious. As for food, their specialties are pizza and calzone. This is my only complaint about this place… Where are the salads/non-bread options? I got a calzone and wasn’t blown away. The pork carnitas calzone has massive red onions in it that were still super crunchy– I think they should have been more wilty for this type of food. I love the popcorn while you wait idea– nice tide over until the food comes. Offer some carb-free options, and I may even bump it up to a Muncie 5 star.

I walked in and was excited to see that they had a decent spirits selection. When I asked for a Templeton Rye old fashioned I was looked at like i was crazy. A second bartender comes up to me asking about the cocktail saying, «I’m sorry I’ve just never heard of it.» The oldest cocktail in the book! I told them not to worry about it. After that he proceeded to ask me if he could try to make me one and eventually I said yes. Taking a chance on him getting a drink right for me that would cost at least 10 bucks… It wasn’t good. The carnitas nachos consisted of a pile of over seasoned chips smothered in nacho cheese, BBQ sauce, and topped with the tiniest sprinkle of carnitas(pork). After barely touching the nachos, I tried the carrot cake and asked for a scoop of ice cream which I was told would be a $ 1 add on. The small scoop came out 5 minutes before the cake and melted fast. I asked for a cup of coffee. The bartender came back shortly after apologizing and saying that they just dumped the coffee pot out. I asked if they were making more and she responded by telling me, «Maybe you shouldn’t order coffee this late.» It was 8pm. The bill came. Nachos were on there twice. The ice cream was $ 2.50 and my drink wasn’t on there. I thought maybe a manager comped my drink because, I clearly wasn’t feeling it. The bartender acted like he couldn’t take the bill to the manager to fix the mistakes and offered to pay for the dollar fifty difference, out of his pocket(guilt trip?) I had to explain to him to take the bill to his manager and ask them to please fix it. I got the bill back and it was more than before when it had the 2 nachos on there because they forgot to add my watered down 10 dollar Templeton old fashioned. All said. I really, truly wanted this place to be a nice addition to Muncie. I’ve tried several times since this occasion and was still quite let down.

Traveling all over, we find most eateries about the same. Sure, there is the occasional«BAD» restaurant, but rarely do we find an EXCELLENT restaurant. I moved to Muncie in 2015, & have checked out many local, & regional, eateries. With«Thr3e Wise Men» opening, recently, we decided to celebrate New Years Eve there. What a GREAT experience !!! Our wait person, LISETTE, introduced us to the extensive MENU, with quality ingredients, & made from scratch recipes. Lisette even brought a couple of samples of items that we were deciding between. The food was GREAT !!! In fact, on New Years Day we returned, to enjoy other items. The atmosphere is very enjoyable, with folks of all ages; families with children, older folks, and serious sports fan groups. Isn’t it great when owners care enough to «go the extra mile,» especially with food quality, and classy servers like we had.

Our office got Thr3e Wise Men for lunch and I felt that it wasn’t that great. I got the BBQ chicken sandwich, which had about five pieces of small, cut up chicken. Another one of my co-workers got the Buffalo chicken sandwich and it had large, breaded pieces on it. i wish that’s what the BBQ had. The house seasoned potato chips are bland, absolutely no salt and I could barely tell there was any«house seasoning» on them at all. This location just opened, so maybe they’re working out the kinks, but I felt the food was sub par for the price.
