Good burrito for where you’re at. Definitely not worth $ 8. Very greedy with the steak. I mean very. Could be a great place. I can’t see very many return customers. Best of luck

Superb Mexican food! I can’t say enough about how incredibly authentic and tasty this cuisine is. In my opinion, it’s the most authentic Mexican in town, which includes the more upscale sit-down restaurants around town. The only downside to this establishment is its building, an old Taco Bell. The location is on the south side which keeps some from experiencing it. Too bad. Get out and head to Taco Sol on South Madison — it’s a real gem of a restaurant in Muncie — food-wise, it beats the heck out of most of the ones up on McGalliard if you ask me. The tacos are out of this world, and so are the burritos. I particularly like the Mexican sausage which is unbelievable tasty — on tacos, on burritos, on whatever. They also have delectable desserts and Mexican drinks. Price is reasonable for the quality of food served. I haven’t nearly tried everything, but I intend to eventually. A friend who always knows where the best Muncie restaurants are told me about it. I’m glad he did! A++

Working my way through the menu. I’ve had several kinds of tacos, burritos, and quesadillas. Each is better than the last.

This place is a hidden treasure on the south side of Muncie. Having never been to Mexico, I can only assume that this is about as authentic as it gets. As others have noted it’s simply a repurposed Taco Bell building. So don’t expect much as far as seating and décor go. One of the first things I noticed was a large display of wide variety of pan dulce(Spanish sweet breads). Next thing that caught my eye was the wide array of soda pops sold in the original glass bottles. Something my generation can remember as a norm growing up. Both of these reminded me of the Mexican store in Anderson. Hmmm… The food was simple and amazing. I had 3 tacos, the steak, chicken, and seasoned pork. They were served as authentic Mexican street food. Wonderful soft corn tortillas, topped with red onion and cilantro. What really took me to the streets of Mexico was the lemons, radishes, and cucumbers served on the side. We finished with the pan dulce. Again probably from the store in Anderson, but was a fun delishious way to end a good meal. On a down note both of their house made sauces lacked any real flavor, and the hot sauce could of been hotter. Now, GOGETYOUSOMEREALTACOS.

Delicious, fresh guacamole; tangy, fragrant chorizo, tender, not rubbery lengue. Horchata creamy and sweet with just a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg. Get there, and get there soon.

The wait for the drive through was unnecessary so I went in. But the food… Ugh! So good, and worth the wait. Definitely coming back for more!

Amazing Mexican street food. The tortillas are fantastic and all the meat is incredible. My favorite is the al Pastor, but the lengua is worth a try. Don’t neglect to try the red and green sauces. My new favorite place in Muncie.

While nothing fancy, the food tastes fresh and has really good flavor. I had the veggie burrito with chips and guacamole. Service was great! Good to have a place on the south side with great flavor. I’ll be returning for sure.

Tacos Sol is a great addition to the south side of Muncie. This place has a small menu, but what it lacks in quantity is definitely made up for in quality. I had three tacos,(Asada, Carnitas and Chorizo), the tacos were not lacking on quantity of filling and all of the ingredients tasted very fresh and delicious. Oh, and the red and green sauce just makes it that much better. I will definitely be stopping in again and I really hope this place gets enough business to thrive in an otherwise lacking part of town.

Great stuff. Tripe, tongue, carnitas, al pastor, asada. Tacos, tortas, tamales! We had a bit of everything. The torta was loaded with beans, avo, mayo, lettuce, and delicious pork carnitas. Not the freshest roll, but still choice. All tacos were served with onion and cilantro. I’d have preferred a double tortilla and a bit more meat, but tasty nonetheless. The pork tamal was a tad on the old side, but nicely flavored. Red sauce had a nice chipotle kick and the green was maybe more lime based. That sauce needed more zing! Horchata was fantastic. Lots of mex sodas available too. Good stuff and I’ll go back, but $ 2 for tacos this small is a bit dear for the south end of Muncie. I’m glad they’re open for the time being. No tortilla chips! Kettle chips and pretzels = weird.

Tacos Sol has an abbreviated but decent menu of treats one would expect to find at any of the killer Mexican fast food joints of the Southwest. Burritos, corn tortilla soft tacos, tortas, flautas and quesadillas, topped/filled with a variety of your favorite Mexican beef, chicken or pork styles. Oh yes… they have very good chorizo ! My tab was a couple bucks more than I expected to grab a meal, but on balance I’m not disappointed. You can drive through or eat in. The building is a resurrected old-school Taco Bell so don’t expect fancy seating. Clean, but zero bling. What Tacos Sol lacks are dirt cheap prices combined with insane portion size across a sprawling mega-menu. If that’s what you’re after, stop now and head Downtown for the other House of Sol… that place is a different scene with massive portions, sit-down dining, and they’re quite good. Also, I would have liked to have seen a spicy tomatillo/serrano green salsa offered, along with a less fancy(and less costly) burrito/flauta or burrito/taco combo. Maybe down the road, especially for the salsa verde? Here’s to hoping. That said, Tacos Sol is definitely worth visiting because the other thing you won’t get is greasy bean & lard stuffed logs that’ll make you want to head to nearby Walmart for a new set of stretchy pants. The food– while fast and humble– is delightfully fresh, well prepared and a welcome balance of crispy colorful vegetables and grilled meats. That’s absolutely worth a couple extra bucks in my book. Fast, fresh, surprising healthy for typical Mexican fast food and WAY more flavor than boring-ass burgers. It’s worth a try and a nice addition to Muncie’s growing restaurant scene.
