The Art Workshop is an award-winning fine art program that teaches the basic fundamentals fine art through drawing, painting and sculpting using various mediums and techniques.
History
Established in 1994.
«I am originally from the rural south and had to overcome an upbringing in a rural area with a huge deficit of fine art instruction in the public schools. Inspired by the need for local, affordable, ad professional art classes for children, I have developed a curriculum to help our youth to learn the secrets to success in drawing, before they lose interest due to frustration»
Ms. Schmalz received her formal art education from the prestigious New York School Of Visual Arts. She also studied at the highly respected Atlanta College of Art Now called the Savannah School of Art and Design.
Ms. Schmalz’s art career encompasses women and children clothing design, prop creation and illustration work for the PBS television series” Barney and Friends”. Her paintings have been exhibited in solo exhibitions in the prestigious Montserrat Gallery in New York City, the famed LA Artists Gallery in Los Angeles, and the Harrison Street Gallery sponsored by Seattle Center in Seattle, Washington
