Regency at Mountain View

They have started sending out mass emails when they are closing early! It has been great that they have started informing us more. Really makes a huge difference! :)

I would like to give 0 star but Unilocal doesn’t allow me. My sister scheduled an appointment. When we reached there, the leasing agent told us that they don’t have apartments available to show us. What the hell! If you don’t have any then why did you confirm the appointment? Or you guys should have call us and cancel. Wasted my whole afternoon as we went to visit far from Mt. View

They gave my wife an appointment. After going there they told that they don’t have the apartment available anymore to show us! They could at least call us and let us know the information ahead of time.

I have been living here for past 6 months now. If you like a good night sleep and expect your home to be a tiny bit of peaceful place to live with your family and kids, please avoid this community. This place has very thin side walls and ceiling. I hear regular stomping, tv sounds from the neighbors above me. Some time they have verbal fight right above my room. Today I suspect they had a physical fight right above my room. I have talked with management several times now but absolute 0% results.

Michael Martin is an amazing guy that helps us at Regency Apartments! We’ve spent 1 year here, and we want to renew our lease because of we really feel ourselves at home. And he is the one of our reason to stay more here. Mike is the one who very friendly, helpful and such a problem solver maintenance we have ever met!

Lived here for 4 years and Since Essex took over it’s been great living here. Staff are very helpful, on-​time, SUPER NICE, and very accommodating. It’s a great complex with great amenities. Parking is also nice. Check it out for yourself!

This apartment was not bad at all for the time I spent here. Jacky and Francisco (he left) were WONDERFUL managers who were always there for anything. But of course, not everything was great.
PROS:
–Not once did I have a problem with my packages because they keep packages locked up and stored in their cupboards till the person of that apartment comes down to pick it up
–Decent facilities (gym, snooker, swimming pool, laundry)
–20 min. walk to castro, 10 min. walk to buses if you don’t have a car
–lots of garage space. Although they only gave 1 parking spot to our 2bd2ba apt, there were still extra spots at the back
–Never saw any cockroaches, and they are my worst fear.
–Had a nice balcony overlooking the pool
–Great maintenance. There was a problem with our bathtub (the water wouldn’t go down the drain), so we called management. They came promptly (next day) and fixed the problem in 20 mins.
CONS:
–Yea the walls are thin so I could always hear my neighbors, but they didn’t make so much noise that I couldn’t sleep. HOWEVER, the ceiling was very thin, I could practically HEAR my neighbors walking above me. I don’t know if they just stomp when they walk, but it got really irritating.
–No microwave in my unit
–Not enough sunlight entering the rooms, so it looks really gloomy if you don’t buy your own lamps.
–They would not give me my deposit back for my garage remote even though they said my deposit would be returned when I return the garage remote

My review is only based on the rental office and specifically Jacquelyn. She was so helpful and responsive. I was trying to relocate and this was a positive experience during that stressful process.

I honestly don’t know how people could give this place anything below 3 stars, except maybe they just looove to complain. My partner and I have lived here for 9 months (since September 2013), and our experience has been vastly positive. Jacquie and Francisco are extremely nice and helpful. They are down to earth people and we have enjoyed getting to know them. They also do their job very well and respond to our requests in a timely manner. The new management seems to do their best to limit rent prices for their tenants, although the entire Silicon Valley area is ridiculously expensive. This place was by far the best bang for our buck in the Mountain View area. The only reason we would move out is to get away from the craziness of all the socially awkward money grubbers that seem to be overtaking the area. I digress…
Anywho, the apartment was remodeled and Regency seems to be putting a lot money into updating all of the facilities. The gym has been remodeled, they have a nice common room where we hosted family Thanksgiving and a Halloween party. They are dog friendly, and have an excellent pool/​hot-​tub/​deck area; they plan on heating the pool with solar energy soon. The building is old and has a weird layout, but they are repainting and putting in their best effort to make it feel like home.
I give them 4.5 stars because we have truly enjoyed living here. There’s always room for improvement, but I have been nothing but pleasantly surprised by this complex and the people who work here. Highly Recommended!

Do NOT rent apartment here… trust me…

— very Old building, just painted walls from outside to renovate.
— Bad cables so internet does not work properly
— can hear people from 4 apts away walking upstairs
— A new management Essex bought it and those guys are horrible (Specially Francisco and Jacquelyn). They just want to find reasons to not renew lease for people so that can get a new lease owner for new price…
— previous management Brynda and Cyd used to be great… they are not here anymore… new management just want to make money .
— No rent control. its all about rent here …
— Carpet stinks… no elevator to move stuff…

The worst apartment you can live for a very very high price. I would have given 0 rating if Unilocal allows it…

This is the worst apartment living experience ever!!! I lived here from Jan to June, 2013. My apartment was remodeled, but for a long time, the whole apartment still had this poisonous smell coming from nowhere. I had one of the landlord coming to take a look, but she blamed my IKEA furniture for producing the smell (I mean, c’mon) and insisting that it’s not from the paint they used or anywhere from the apartment.
I’m glad to finally move out and they changed the management company. Hopefully future tenants will receive better service.

I am living in this building for over 2 years now. There are some cons and pros:
Pros:
Brenda and Cyd are really friendly, they took care of us. But this condition no long exists. The apartment is bought by another company in June 1^st 2013, and the new management staff doesn’t care about the people live here. They are very rude!
Cons:
Noise. You can hear people upstairs very clearly. I got wake up everyday by my neighbors alarm at 7:45 AM.:-(
No rent control:
Since Mountain View doesn’t have a rent control, so expect to raise your rent $ 200 every 6 months. lots of people moved out because of this.
Water quality.
They water here is red/​pink if you go away for a weekend.
So sick of this place. Looking actively to move out.

I lived here from July 2011 through May 2013. During that time, the maintenance and office staff (Brenda and Cyd) took fantastic care of me. For example, they were always willing to put packages in my apartment when I couldn’t get to the office during office hours, and they met me a couple of times after hours to give me spare keys when I’d locked myself out.
My apartment was bright and freshly remodeled, and everything worked well. The pool/​hot tub area is gorgeous (the pool’s unheated though). The location is superb– it’s close to shopping, dining, entertainment, and my office. After 20+ years of living in a single-​family house, I did have to adjust to living in apartments– some neighbors are noisy or inconsiderate bu that’s true of every apartment complex everywhere. I didn’t have problems with the soundproofing or overall noise level.
Having said all that as of 5÷31÷13 the properly is now managed by Essex vice Spieker. I don’t know if this is good or bad, but I mention it because it might have an effect on their further quality.

Moved in here a year ago and was very worried due to all of the negative reviews on Unilocal. My experience with the Regency has been nothing but good. Brenda and Cyd are always around, which is awesome if I need to pick up packages or have a maintenance issue.
Gorgeous pool area! Nice remodeled apts.
The only negative is during the summer the pool area can get a little noisy, but there is a curfew of 10 PM that most people follow.
All in all I would live here again.

The best pool in Mountain View! We really enjoyed our time here. We had to relocate for several months due to renovations in the rental home we are living in. The Regency was our preference due to its lovely facilities and gorgeous courtyard. Everything has been fully renovated, inside and out, so our apartment had all new paint, carpet, flooring, tile, appliances, etc. Our house has four bedrooms, so we were surprised to find that the two-​bedroom apartment was more than adequate for our family, even with guests. The management was awesome, and the neighbors were always pleasant, even helpful. Our girls learned to swim in the amazing pool, and I often saw people enjoying the sun deck and rec room. Tons of large washer/​dryers. Plenty of parking, gated and locked property. Not sure what more we could have wanted.

I made the huge mistake to move into this complex. In only 4 months, my car got stolen, keyed and my mountain bike got stolen. In addition, this complex is really noisy and you can hear all the people around you. I would never think I will write such a negative review, but if you are considering moving there, please don’t. You will save you a ton of money. The upper management is also totally unresponsive (although the staff working there is fairly nice). I will give negative stars if I could.

NEVER EVER COME HERE!!! Terrible apartment and very unfriendly and unprofessional managers!!! Walls and floors are so thin that you can hear people talking, playing musics, watching movies every single second. Don’t even mention the annoying walking sound. The outside of the apartment looks nice because they raise our rent every month. But yet, it’s just a fog covering the same old building with thin walls and floors. The managers here never treat complains seriously. In fact, they don’t even accept complains! I once complained that my neighbor played music with strong bass at 7 in the morning. The reaction from her is the worst I’ve ever seen. She refused to handle the issue because she claimed people are free to make whatever noise they want from 7am to 9pm. They even blamed us for walking to washrooms at night because our walking sound borders people who lives downstairs. Hello? It’s not my fault that you’ve got shitty floors and I don’t think she has got any control over my bladder!

I will give 0 review if possible but Unilocal doesnt allow it. It’s horrible. They have increase our rent from 1450 to 1695. Plus too thin wall. You can hear everything of your neighbors. We are not allowed to watch TV with the high volume as well. very poor quality. Up floor neighbors walks and we can feel earthquakes.
