NEW Location !! 547 Long Point Rd Suite 111– Charleston Ballet Theatre Center for Dance Education) — is directed by Don & Patricia Cantwell and Jill Eathorne Bahr and is s the longest continually running ballet school in the Low country. It was founded by Don Cantwell over 45 years ago.

The comprehensive and challenging curriculum is designed to inspire future dancers of all types, whether aspiring to have a professional career or those who simply desire the benefits of quality dance training. There are two spacious, fully equipped studios including state-​of-​the-​art dance flooring. This facility allows the school to limit class size and offer a varied and expanded curriculum of both classical and contemporary dance styles.

Business Owner

Patricia Cantwell oversees all aspects of the artistic program, including building the entire dance curriculum, assigning teachers, and planning performances. As an alumni of the School of American Ballet, she is the primary teacher in the Intermediate and Advanced levels of the school. Her affiliation with SAB afforded the professional company the opportunity to obtain six of the «Balanchine» ballets through the George Balanchine Trust.

In her role as Executive Artistic Director of South Carolina’s World Class Professional Ballet Company she has recruited many outstanding dancers, expanded the repertoire to include the finest in classical and contemporary ballet, and created a number of remarkable productions that have garnered fantastic acclaim. Mrs. Cantwell has been called one of the most articulate voices in the dance world and often is a consultant to other ballet companies.
