This is the finest espresso joint in MLT. The coffee is rich and tasty. But first and foremost the Grand Perez is a French bakery with excellent croissants. I’ve been coming here since the very beginning and a following is growing. Sit in peace now and enjoy the space which has a fireplace for the winter

I love their double chocolate and almond croissants. Well made, delicious, and reasonably priced baked goods in my neighborhood. This place is a winner.

Yes you can get European quality croissants and morning pastries in the Puget Sound without paying six dollars a pop. Friendly customer service and great food and coffee that stands up to any downtown coffee shop. Kind of a random location but that allows them to have a lot of space to hang out. Definitely good for my kids Who can run around like humans and experience a real almond croissant at once.

For a location and building that seems desolate and unrefined, the pastries are quite good! I had their almond croissant with a cup of hot chai and was impressed with the size and texture and the wonderful flavor that rivals those of Bakery Nouveau. A quaint little café just north of Seattle

I originally visited Grand Pere when it first opened… didn’t even have signage. At the time, I wasn’t overly bowled over but checked it out from a relative’s tip. I stopped in on a late Saturday afternoon and surprisingly the tiny lot was full. Friendly counter person/barista. Clearly product is cleaned out, but bought a 12 ounce mocha($ 3.75) and blueberry danish($ 3.65) for here. Decent mocha with excellent balance of coffee, chocolate and milk… plus for me perfect temperature. The Danish was appropriately sized. Aesthetics would helped with just a brush of light glaze or melted apricot jam. However, it was tasty. Others items I bought to go was a monstrous sized chocolate chip cookie… bigger than a saucer. Plus an equally ginormous twice baked almond croissant($ 3.85). Recently, was given one from Bakery Nouveau, and yesterday gave a co-worker one from the Vienna Coffee Company. I sense a trend here… I am happy to report they have become more established as an indie, neighborhood bakery/café. It made for a better second visit, a complete polar opposite from my initial impression.

These guys have the BEST croissants I have ever had and while the owner and help are very sweet, they have absolutely no clue how to serve people in even a moderately efficient manner. Please, please, please separate your pastry from coffee live. You have one person doing both, so if I ever come in just to get a croissant to go, it can take ten plus minutes for a 15 sec transaction. Take the coffee orders and get to them later. I will change the rating and update the review if you just please figure this out. Still the same. Even with lines out the door. How sad! Just because you can make a great croissant doesn’t mean you know how to sell it!

This is such a great little spot. The pastries are delectable, coffee is fresh and made well, and the staff/owners are friendly. My mom and I come here for coffee often, and we appreciate the cozy and inviting atmosphere. Definitely make a trip to this great little bakery!

I went here yesterday and took some pastries to go for work. Oh yum! We had one of everything and everything that we tried was so good! The Tasse de Crème was unique and delicious. Almond croissants and chocolate croissants were perfect. Today I can’t stop thinking about how good it was and I am really craving more! One note of caution: on the way out you will be looking at your yummy box of pastries and the couple of steps down are a little shallow and slanted. Be careful.

Parking/location: It’s sort of in a strange place, looks like a converted house, small parking lot Ambiance: Once you go in, it’s a cute little café with lots of small tables. Great for groups 2 – 3, but once you get more than that the seating doesn’t work very well, except for at the couch. Food: They have this amazing Tasse de Crème that oozes caramel-y goodness. You MUST try it. I’ve heard the almond croissant is amazing as well, but have yet to try it, they run out of these quickly. My son had chocolate croissant he says«it’s awesome». Service: Good, I mean, you order the food/drinks and you pick it up, but there’s no waitress refilling your water or anything I’d give it 5 stars, but it is a little pricy. Recommendation: I’ll be back for the Tasse de Crème.

Cute little place very close to home. They have a nice selection of freshly made items. We ordered an almond croissant and chocolate croissant and both were huge! The almond croissant was great! It was soft and flaky and the filling was not overwhelming. The chocolate croissant was okay but all of the chocolate was at one end so it’s best that you heat it up enough to melt the chocolate. We also ordered cappuccino and hot chocolate. The cappuccino was good, very strong and a little bitter. The hot chocolate had a different taste, we didn’t really like it. This is definitely a good place to visit on a Saturday morning. There are comfy seats to sit in or tables. It’s very clean. Service is very friendly.

Okay so this is probably the best French Bakery I have been to and I have tasted a lot of bakeries. My father was a French Master Pastry Chef and that was one of his hobbies, traveling around and tasting the goods at other bake shops. The Almond Croissant is very decadent and very hard to finish, unless you have a good cup of coffee to wash it down.

Twice Baked Almond Croissant. I’ve heard of them. I’m really not huge on croissants, not particularly in love with almonds either. I’d ask who would ever even want an almond croissant? The answer is pretty simple, EVERYBODYONTHEPLANET. If you’re vegan, change your ways, if you have food allergies, I’m sure there’s an epi pen that you could use… Bomb dot com. Bomb spliffity. Bomb diggity. It’s life changing. Really. Also super delicious is the double chocolate croissant. They also have these croissant like sticks that are yummy too. Last weekend I tried their quiche. So good, my only complaint is it wasn’t the size of a whole pie so I could eat it all then hate myself later. The place is great — don’t let the rather unremarkable outside fool you. It’s worth a stop.

Spotted the sign on Saturday morning and hoped! Had a delicious, flakey, warm, melty chocolatine croissant, and(heaven) an Americano with real crema.(I like it strong, and got the water on the side, just in case.) Clearly most of the patrons were regulars who appreciated good food and drink, so I asked for a nearby burger alternative to the now-defunct, beloved Red Onion. I was gifted with friendliness and two options, including a hand-drawn map and even a phone call to check a name. What a happy find, it made my day.

Just got here, it is peaceful, quiet, spacious, free wifi, and I love it. I don’t know when this place will be over crowded but right now it is the perfect place to study and the baked goods have more then the sugary american baked goods, it has asian baked goods which are harder to find. Having just come from three different cafes because of over crowding this place is so nice. Also it has parking.

Great bakery we found exploring our new neighborhood. Their croissants are huge. I ate half that morning and the other half the next, warmed up in a toaster oven and still very delicious. I was hoping their chocolate croissants were twice baked like their almond croissants, as those are my favorite and I can only find them at Bakery Nouveau in West Seattle. Although their double chocolate croissants satisfied my crave. Their Vietnamese beef pastry was yummy and filled with lots of beef. Their Tasse de Crème was a nice treat but got a bit too sweet once I got to the salted caramel. We also got their butter croissant, cinnamon stick and mini quiche. All were good as well! They had a great special for $ 5 of a 12oz mocha and a huge chocolate chip walnut cookie or chocolate croissant. I chose the cookie and the kids loved it. We will be back for sure!

2.1 miles from our house… le sigh… that’s just too darn far to eat here everyday… well okay maybe not… Okay, in my head, I have to say it is because if I didn’t I would be here every AM to start my day off at this place. Two words… Le YUM… okay so it’s not French, but my head was swimming after we found this little treasure in Mountlake Terrance, build it and YESOMG, YES, they will come! I had read about the almond croissants, so I hoarded… I mean ordered 6 to go, Gramps was drooling over my shoulder and suggested we order a few items to taste test first, first brilliant idea the man has had in many a year. We opted for a couple of almond sticks, almond croissant, Tasse de Crème, double chocolate croissant, and 3 cups of their drip coffee. We sat down at one of the little tables and each took a bite… pause as my stomach now pines for another bite, while I type this some 14hrs later… I really should get to sleep so I can be sitting on their doorstep bright and early, waiting for them to open tomorrow… Sorry I got side tracked… Gramps had the almond croissant, I will say this, if you are not a fan of the sweeten almond paste that has ground almonds in it, you’ll find these a bit on the too sweet side. Gramps prefers the smooth marzipan filled style, but must have enjoyed it, because there wasn’t much left on his plate. Grams and I had the almond sticks, they were solid, a bit too chewy for her, but mustn’t have been too bad, since she inhaled it. We split the double chocolate croissant, I found it to be «amazeballs» in my opinion, crisp, flaky and chocolate in both the dough and a nice light touch of chocolate inside, WOW, just WOW. But the earth stood still for all 3 of us when we tore into the Tasse de crème, this is truly heaven sent. In fact when I bit into it, I did hear angels singing… or was that the music in the café, either way, it was worth walking over broken glass. They are now open 6 days a week, closed Mondays, take credit cards, and have plenty of parking. Don’t judge the place by the mustard yellow painted outside of the place, the secret garden of delights is on the inside and that’s all that matters…

My mom took me here twice while I was visiting the family. She was raving about the twice-baked almond croissant. She purposely didn’t cook breakfast so we could go here. It is across our street so that was another personal plus. Inside was simple, not overly decorated. It does not promote a certain subculture or fashion. It’s a bakery shop with an espresso machine, tables, and chairs, like Paris(before hipsters started popping everywhere and decided to decorate coffee shops). It has a sofa, where we sat, and wifi available. I had the twice-baked croissant and chai latte. The croissant was amazing! If I could only eat that everyday, without getting wide or broke, I would. For it’s price, it is large and really good(see TIPS). Their chai latte was not as sweet as I usually prefer, however, I have the croissant to add the sweetness this time and it was perfect. I’ve also had the almond stick, second fave on most days. Unfortunately, even if my mom buys different pastries to give to relatives, I’ve only had the twice-baked almond croissant, mostly due to guilt. By the end of the day, I would have eaten two pieces and would have to stop myself from eating sweets, period. Maybe when I come back I’ll add more than the two above.
