Voice Lessons by Tracy Cortopassi

Tracy is exceptional in so many ways that it’s difficult to convey them all in a single review. My voice has changed drastically since I began with her about a year ago, but the best part is that she gives you the knowledge to think, self-​correct, and understand *why* something is or isn’t working. When you’re having a trouble spot, Tracy has multiple tools, metaphors, exercises, and ideas in her teacher’s «bag» to help you understand and break through the issue. She also encourages an aspect of being a singer that I never expected before… self-​care to be strong and healthy through a conscientious lifestyle. She’s totally amazing, one of the best teachers in any discipline I’ve come across… and she’s an awesome person to boot. Highly recommend!

We took our daughter to Tracy after much research and she was wonderful! After a few months of weekly voice lessons our 13 year old daughter not only greatly improved on her beautiful voice but also grew in confidence. Tracy brings a lot of talent and experience to the classes, I would most certainly recommend her to anyone at any level. When our daughter decides to get up on stage or participate in an activity where she can use her voice we will definitely go back to get support and more lessons from Tracy.

Tracy is extremely knowledgeable and really believes the mission to teach musicality and technique to her students. My voice has evolved and I’ve begun to better understand my instrument. Tracy is attentive and thoughtful in her teaching technique. She helps me to understand everything the best way I can by speaking my own/​personal vocal language. She has a caring and insightful approach, and also goes beyond just vocal technique with her approach and brings out the «you» in you. She is somehow able to balance the technical aspects of the voice and singing with a holistic view of what it truly means to be a singer and express yourself. No matter what your background or skill level is, I am positive Tracy will be able to help you find your voice. I cannot recommend her enough.

Tracy has been a great voice teacher for our daughter. She has helped her increase her confidence, understand and be comfortable with her voice, and prepare for school performances. She is encouraging and makes the whole process fun. Our daughter always looks forward to voice lessons and walks away energized even when she is tired walking in! As a parent, I also appreciate Tracy’s flexibility. She is willing to work with you when you have scheduling challenges, changing lesson times if needed. Tracy has made a big — and positive — impact on our daughter. I have recommended her to three other people and would not hesitate to do it again!

Tracy is a wonderful voice instructor. My daughter loves her weekly lessons, and she is so proud of the progress she has made. We love the fact that Tracy is truly dedicated to her students. She encourages additional communication through emails if students are stuck or need help with their music during the week. She always gets back to us promptly. She has a very positive and encouraging attitude, which is motivating and inspirational.

Tracy is a great vocal coach and is very good about giving you feedback that you can apply to your practice/​performances. She helps me work on my general technique, and also helps me on my range for specific songs. Her studio is easy to get to in downtown Mountain View.

She uses easy exercises and practical application to help you get the results you’re looking for. She tailors your lesson to your specific skill level, needs and goals.
In the last year or so, I’ve made a lot of strides as a singer. And although I had no idea what that would look like, I was definitely ready for that next step. Tracy helped me find that next step. And it’s so exciting because she’s helping me to accomplish something I thought I’d never be able to do: sing Since U Been Gone in the original key. I thought it was too high for me. Tracy is an amazing voice coach. I had been singing for a long time and came to her a little frustrated. My voice was sort of staying the same and I needed a push to get to the next level. Tracy gave me confidence and excellent feedback. I always leave Tracy feeling so good about my voice. She is inspiring, positive and really knows her stuff. Tracy is the best voice teacher i have ever had. She’s great. Before i met her i didn’t sing very well abd now im singing on stage as much as i can. She’s the best you can get. I’d definately recommend her to everyone.
