This company is not a real company! It is fraud! My friend was just charged twice close to $ 1000 to have locks changed. Customer, beware! My friend is filing a police report against them.
She was charge twice for large amounts, then she tried calling the guy who did the work. The phone number was disconnected. If you call all the phone numbers listed on their website, a recording comes on and says that messages are full and hangs up. She called the 800 number and asked the lady if she had a record of the work that they did. The women said «no» and hung up!
I did not want to click on a star, but I had to in order to post this. Again, do not use this place!

The people who work here and the technician they work with (someone called SHAI) are rude, lack morals and steal!
I hired them (without reading Unilocal’s reviews, dumb) and they gave me a quote of $ 25 over the phone and ended up charging me $ 174. Now, that’s not the most surprising or the worst thing. I paid them with a credit card. Two days later they charged my credit card again!
I called to ask them to return my money (fix the duplicate charge) and they said they would talk to the technician and fix it. 10 days passed and I had to call them again because nothing happened. This time the person who answered the phone was so rude and kept interrupting me that I had to ask repeatedly to let me explain. He raised his voice over mine, so I raised my voice too and he hang up. I was fuming!
Finally, I called the credit card to file a claim and I am currently waiting for a permanent credit back in my account.
STAY AWAY!

I personally didn’t request the service, but I was with a person who did. I lent them my phone to look on Unilocal for locksmiths.
This locksmith quoted $ 65 total, then came in an unmarked car and had the nerve to say that he charged $ 90. Ummm… What happened to $ 65… So the other party decided that was too much, and told them that another technician was on the way charging $ 60. The technician got angry and said no one charges less than $ 120 and acted like he was doing us a favor. Interesting, because apparently last time this happened, the other person called a different locksmith and got it for $ 90… Anyways, the technician got very angry, and said that he was going to sit there and wait to see the other technician do it for $ 60, and if that person couldn’t do it, «make you pay $ 100 for the job». Wow. Then he went to his car, and after a while, came back to tell the other party that he was going to send them a service bill. The other party refused, saying that they never agreed to pay a service bill (most reputable locksmiths do not do it if they don’t do the job). The technician then told the other party that they were disrespectful for «shopping around» and getting different price quotes from different locksmiths. He then threatened to call the police, and threatened people who weren’t involved (me, who just let the person use the phone), and when the other party still refused to pay the service fee (because it was not disclosed that the fee would have to be paid regardless of completion) even took off his jacket and threatened to physically assault the other party, and told him that he records all his phone conversations (apparently this also was not disclosed to the other party that the call would be recorded). He also made racial slurs, saying things like «where do you live… China?» because he was dealing with Asians.
I don’t remember what company he is affiliated with, nor his credentials (I think he claimed that he is affiliated and is certified with FBI and the police?), but seeing his conduct and his lack of knowledge of basic business laws, along with the commonplace occurrence of locksmith fraud, I personally wouldn’t take his word for anything, especially including quotes.
Tl;dr
I think the Technician is a liar and a bully. Quotes low, then when he comes he charges quite high. From what I have seen, if you don’t pay, he will threaten you through through legal action, and potentially physically attack you if you know your rights and refuse to pay the extra.
I wasn’t even part of this whole thing, just there because of my phone, and he was very hostile and unprofessional even with a third party present. Also isn’t afraid to bust out the racial slurs and apparently thinks customers are stupid enough not to know basic business laws. Stay far far away. What a nightmare.
He says he feeds his family from his locksmith job? If he was trying to gain sympathy points, fail, because that was all negated as soon as he showed aggression and became extremely rude and used intimidation tactics to get his money.
Man. Even though I wasn’t the one receiving the service, the experience of seeing this was so bad, I had to say something. I’m not sure how well he did the job, but seeing that there are several other locksmiths with good customer service skills, are honest, and don’t bully their customers at their most vulnerable, I would say skip this locksmith and find someone else. You don’t want a person who is like this to be alone with you. Not trustworthy at all.
I wish I was exaggerating the story, but no. Seriously. This is the stuff nightmares are made of.
I am looking up their license, as well as the license for the technician they sent us and lodging a complaint as soon as I find it.

When I called for service after locking myself out of my apartment, they quoted $ 29 for the service call and $ 35 and up for the lock labor. When the technician showed up, he had me sign a bill, then after unlocking the door, added the prices to the invoice — now, $ 49 for the service call and $ 110 to open the lock! I refused to pay, and he called the police and refused to let me speak to the police. I held out, happy to talk to law enforcement, but their dispatch called back and finally relented to my offer of $ 80 cash to be done with it. Stay away. Absolutely slimey.
