Huff Elementary School

We’ve been at Huff now from Kinder through 5^th and I have a 2^nd who’s started Kinder. We’ve appreciated all the teachers that we’ve had so far. Some of them were a bit tough but always open to working together to help my daughter have the best experience possible. In the older grades, they expect a lot which they should as they are trying to prepare our kids for middle school and beyond. I’ve really enjoyed the community of parents and you do get out of it what you put into it. We didn’t participate much the first few years as new parents but once we started being involved — like attending the Auction and going to some of the parties etc. we made good friends whom we now enjoy hanging out with. Also the support and help from other parents — when we needed help with pick-​up or perhaps an afternoon playdate is what makes this a great community.

The school campus is very welcoming to both children and parents. They keep a very close eye on the kids while they are out in recess and lunch.
Education wise — they cater to every child’s needs individually and provide the extra care or challenge they need.

I’m review Huff Elementary School Park which is not open to the public during school hours. On my way through the school site headed toward the park area I couldn’t help but notice how messy the school grounds looked, which was quite a surprise because most Mountain View School are kept in nice condition. Who knows, maybe the custodian was out sick on Friday or something. There were a lot of children’s clothes scattered around the campus. I saw four bike helmets by the bike racks and lawn area. Boxes books by the front door to the school and a lost and found table loaded with all kinds of children’s stuff. Looked a mess. Anyway… Huff Elementary School/​Park is a great park to walk a large dog.

Huff Elementary School shines above the rest of the elementary schools in the district. My son attends, and we love it here. There is a strong sense of community and parental involvement.
Every year there has been a variety of events ranging from the Hawkfest carnival, Cultural Diversity Events, a Book Fair, Family Dinner Nights, Arts in Action, and many many more.
We have been very pleased with the teachers we have had so far, but the true litmus test is how much my son enjoys going to school. Yay Huff Hawks!
