HMR Weight Management Clinic

I began HMR weight program on 9÷15÷2015, it was recommended to me by my Dr. at the PAMF. I have been so happy with this program! The diet is easy to follow, I chose the medically supervised plan as I do have some health issues. The staff is courteous and easy to work with. I was on oxygen ²⁴⁄₇ when I began and now need it only when I am exercising. I have reduced some of the medications I take, my blood pressure is perfect and I am no longer pre-​diabetic. I have lost 41 lbs to date and am still going down.
I like this program because it was easier to follow for me, they have a wonderful maintenance program so I can get the help I will need to keep the weight off. I truly can’t say enough good about my experience at HMR. Try it! :)

I joined HMR in August 2008 and went from 244 pounds to 154 pounds in 34 weeks. I’ve remained in the program since then to help me cope with conditioned overeating. I’ve gained back some of the weight and lost it again a couple of times, but have been able to keep my weight below 180 the entire time. At age 61 I am now an active cyclist and have no restrictions on my mobility. My wife is grateful that I have stopped snoring. I remain in HMR because it works for me.

If you want a one to two week program try one of those DIETS, yes DIETS.
If you want a lifelong commitment to being a healthier person then try the HMR Program.
It’s not a DIET, it’s a way of life.
It’s not a way to lose weight quickly (oh wait they do have a program to do that) in a healthy way. :) with medical supervision if needed.
The HMR program will give you the tools on how to lose weight and incorporate it into your lifestyle.
This program will give you choices on options on how to create a healthy way to do this life long.
Here’s my tiny story without all the boring details.
October 2009 or 2010 my starting weight in the mid to high 230’s lbs.
In June I hit my goal of 159 and I maintained my weight in the 160’s.
My current healthy weight in the low 180’s, which I’m happy and okay with.
That was almost a 70 pound weight loss and maintained almost 5 years.
This program did change my life, no doubt about it.
All of the tests that doctors normally run dropped drastically.
My cholosterol went from High to normal.
My Lousy LDL went from High to Low a good thing.
My HDL numbers went in the right direction low to High.
All of the items to measure my health improved.
My attitude went from Horrible to Happy, no more back aches and squeezing into clothes.
I now exercise almost every day.
I bike ride all the time.
I go to the beach and can take my shirt off.
I look and feel younger than I did in my 20’s.
To summarize, the BEST decision I’ev ever made in my life.

I have received excellent care at HMR. The program works as advertised. But the staff is really what makes this place stand out. Rachel is an excellent coach and Megan really takes great care of you. All of the staff are great and they care about your success. Highly recommended.

I found our about HMR through a health checkup day at work about 2 years ago.
I kept off going to it because I have grown skeptical of such classes, but about 6 months ago I hit rock bottom with my weight and my health numbers were pretty bad so I decided to give it a shot.
The best and unique thing with HMR are the people — your classmates and your coach. They are your support system and their presence tells you that you are not alone in this struggle to lose weight and be healthier. They also serve to keep you accountable to make sure you are working toward your goals.
The other thing I like about HMR is that they look at your whole health, and weight is just one part of it. Their curriculum also talks about equally important things such as getting enough sleep, controlling stress, as well as getting enough daily physical activity.
Since joiining HMR about 5 months ago, I have seen my weight drop significantly, my health numbers have gone back to normal, and I have also met a few friends along the way who understand what I am going through.
I highly recommend HMR, and I plan to keep on going for a long time to keep my weight in check.

This weight management plan is terrific. I have lost over 125 pounds in the last year. Even more importantly now is that I am learning the tools to maintain this weight and keep it off. The staff at this clinic is totally committed and extremely helpful. This is a terrific opportunity for anyone that has fought unsuccessfully with diet plans for years and years as I did. I can’t say enough good things about the results I have seen with the support and help of the wonderful people at this clinic. This is not a fad diet or a trick to lose weight but a true life changing plan that is yet simple and straightforward. Don’t hesitate. This clinic has my highest recommendation. Go to an introductory class and start changing things for the better.

I had been with HMR in Mountain View for just a few months and lost 30 lbs. I have been overweight for more than 15 years, tried other plans that did not work, and about given up as I am older. Yet, HMR works! Have high blood pressure which my doctor cut in half with my loss of 30 lbs and it will continue to drop as weight loss continues. All my 2X and 1X clothes long since donated. In doing something for myself, and commitment to stay with it, the rest is easy with food plans, delicious shakes that taste like milkshakes, and weekly meetings with health instructors who are deeply committed to our losing weight. Meetings have much positive give and take. Surprised to find that others in my weekly class share ideas with each other as well as our weight loss experiences because we are all in this together to meet our personal weight loss goals. So glad I attended first class as has changed so much for me and my health. Will update as I continue to lose weight! Give it a try!

I joined HMR last February (2014). At that time I was the heaviest I had ever been and was miserable. When a regular checkup revealed that my glucose number was climbing along with my weight I decided I had had enough. I didn’t want to be a victim of my poor lifestyle choices. It is now a little over one year later and I have lost a total of 106 pounds. My blood glucose is low and I am healthier than I have been in a very long time. If you are ready to make the change you will find knowledgeable and compassionate professionals here who will be by your side on your weight loss journey, and after when you begin Maintenance.
Stop beating yourself up and decide that you are ready to be the person you want to be from now on. You won’t regret it, I promise.

I lost 60 lbs at HMR in about 6 months in 2013. Then I started attending their maintenance classes and maintained for about a year. Funny how I started gaining when my commitment to attending the classes waned. I’m about to head back for more classes now.
If you can keep your willpower strong (and it’s not hard when you can lose 3 lbs in a week!) you WILL lose a lot of weight doing this program. The classes are very motivating and your classmates very supportive of each other. The «start together» aspect makes this different from Weight Watchers where you don’t really know anyone’s story and that was very helpful to me.
The staff is excellent and they offer a free orientation. Worth checking out if you need to lose some weight.

Thought I’d provide one from 2013, and, even though I’ve JUST begun the program.
I’m looking to lose about 30 lbs or more in 13 weeks leading up to my birthday, and am on the *Healthy Solutions* option of the 2 – 3 options they offer.
Health reason for me joining? Tendency towards high cholesterol. Levels are above normal as of this writing.
I’m set to do 3 shakes and 2 main courses, plus as many vegees and fruits as I’d like.
Pros for me that inspired me to join with doing the HMR Program is:
They allow coffee
They allow d. soda (I will not be doing this, but good for those who enjoy soda)
Also, you will need to drink 64 oz of water a day (a good way to keep you busy and moving to the ladies rr) :)
Mandatory you attend one meeting a week (I joined for this piece esp. I want to be accountable and re-​learn good eating habits, etc)
The food is pre-​packaged and not frozen, so very mobile! And, tasty so far! I’m thrilled!
Fun that I don’t have to do any cooking for the next 13 weeks. Woot woot!
Activity: easy peasy, you’ll see, to start it or keep doing what you’re doing and adding a little bit more

The diet really does work!!!
I skip the shakes though. Also I skip the classes. They’re mostly a waste of time. Their food is pretty good for the most part. Each entrée is 270 calories or less.
My favorites include:
Mushroom Risotto
Lasagna with Meat Sauce
Chicken with Barbecue Sauce with Rice and Beans
Chicken Pasta Parmesan
Vegetable Stew with Beef
Five Bean Casserole
You’re supposed to eat no more than 3 entrees a day and as many fruits + veggies as you want.
If you stick to the diet it’s easy to stay under 1000 calories a day and the weight loss is rapid.

I joined the HMR program in March 2008 for their 13 week core program — 12 weeks into the program I have lost 40 pounds and plan to lose another 60. No other diet has ever worked for me — this one really did work. You have to be committed and stick to the program but you will get results. I loved Megan the nurse — she was so motivational and supportive! I highly recommend this program to anyone who really wants to finally lose weight.

Sunnyvale HMR is a program that is serious about helping people lose weight. The health educators practice what they preach and get to know each person. I was an employee here for nearly two years and I definitely enjoyed working here.
They offer a variety of diets and varying levels of medical supervision. After attending an orientation and deciding to join, a new patient will have an appointment with the program’s doctor and nurse. Based on these appointments a diet and level of medical supervision is chosen. Classes are held in the evening Monday-​Wednesday.
Weight loss classes are formed from groups of new people and run for 12 – 14 weeks. One of the really great things about this program is that after you are done with weight loss they continue to support you with their maintenance program.
Being on the HMR diet in the weight loss program means you have to eat their food. Once the weight loss class ends, participants are suddenly free to eat other foods. Maintenance teaches you to apply the concepts you’ve learned in weight loss to daily life.
