Absolutely great service and speedy response when a problem occurs. We have used them for thirty years for weekly pool service. Tom, the owner, is terrific and so helpful as are the office staff. We highly recommend them.

My initial contact with Excel Pool & Spa was excellent. The lady on the phone couldn’t have been nicer in helping me set-​up our account and telling me what day the service occurs. However, it’s all been downhill from there. I happened to be home during one cleaning session and realized that the pool person doesn’t actually clean the pool unless we take the cover off for him. So, for three weeks in a row, the pool guy had been showing up and simply checking the chemicals. Interestingly, the maintenance charge is the same regardless of whether or not he cleans the pool. Nobody bothered to mention the cover situation to me when we set-​up the account and had I not been home to see this, the pool would’ve remained uncleaned. When I phoned Excel to discuss this, I had a much different experience on the phone. I spoke with a different lady this time who seemed pretty annoyed that I had bothered to call to understand what was included in our monthly service. When discussing the cover situation, she explained to me that it’s difficult for the pool person to remove the cover himself as it’s not on a reel (due to the unusual shape of our pool) so I needed to do that for him if I want the pool cleaned. Interestingly, it’s also difficult for me to remove the pool cover but I have managed to do this each week before his weekly visit. I guess he doesn’t have as much experience with pool covers as I do…
Aside from that, Excel has now moved to emailed billing statements, which is awesome. I hate paper bills. What’s not awesome is that to pay your bill, you need to call Excel (as luck would have it, I got to speak to Miss Unfriendly two times in a row!) and pay by credit card (no AmEx and no bank account linking). Excel will allow you to maintain a card on file though so they can charge you automatically. Convenient, huh? My final issue with Excel is that the pool person put in some extra strong chemicals last week (likely due to the lack of cleaning during the prior weeks when I «left» the cover on). It’s great that he added the needed chemicals. What’s not great is that he didn’t leave a note and Excel didn’t send an email, so my kids jumped right into the pool that afternoon and came right back out with burning eyes and skin. I only realized what had happened when I received my emailed invoice for the additional pool chemicals used. I called Excel to ask if they could notify me when this happens so that I can keep the kids out of the pool but as luck would have it, I caught Miss Unfriendly for a 3^rd time and she told me they never put chemicals strong enough to warrant a 24 hour waiting period from the pool. With all the competition in this space, I’d strongly suggest using a different company who is actually interested in customer service.

I have been a customer at Excel Pool & Spa for almost 20 years and have always been very satisfied. They are knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. I get my chemicals and equipment from Excel and whenever I have problems they have the expertise to solve them. It’s like a family — all very nice people. Tom, Suzie, Jim, Ben, Anna and Liz have helped me. Recently I brought my pool sweep in to be looked at as it wasn’t working quite properly — they found the problems and repaired it for the cost of a few minor parts (no labor charge) — couldn’t ask for better service than that — and so friendly and pleasant. Highly recommended.

I have used Excel Pool for supplies and advice for over 25 years. Excel Pool & Spa is excellent. They are knowledgeable and responsive to your needs. I recommend them highly. I use a pool sweep which they service and I have never had a problem. I am extremely happy with a new filter/​pump system they recommended and installed. When I had difficulties learning how to program the system, the tech was patient, knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend Excel, even for those who maintain their own swimming pools.

Excel has been servicing our pool for nearly 30 years. They are a family owned business and treat you like you are family. Our pool is always crystal clear and when a part goes bad, they alert us and recommend the most sensible, economical solution. They will do a quick fix (for free) until the problem can be fixed properly. If the tech is unsure about the solution, he will call the manager or owner and they will drop by that day to diagnose and fix the problem. They are simply the best!

This company is excellent! The tech who comes each week, never misses and keeps my pool crystal clear! My tech, Marco? alerts me if a small part is broken, the pool needs water or any small needs by leaving notes on my front door. I had a previous pool company and felt that they were inflating prices for minor fixes and always trying to get me to buy new products. Excel’s maintenance prices are competitive and I love that they contact me for my approval if they need to fix anything over $ 50. One time after I had a party the pool looked slightly cloudy due to 30 people swimming. Excel came out that day and added chemicals. The best part is that there is a live office receptionist who answers the phone. She is knowledegable and proactive. Usually she gets someone out that day to remedy any small concern. I love that I actually talk to someone and don’t leave a message. I recommend them with absolutely no reservations and wish every company operated as they do!

I have been using Excel Pool for a few years. The crew and the owner are very trustworthy and accommodating. They work with you and have a high standard of work. I have purchased a new pump & filter system and they installed them for me. I have also used them many times for regular maintenance work. Highly recommended. They get the job done with a great quality.

I’ve used Excel multiple times over the years to keep my hot tub in good working oder. They are responsive, reliable, cost effective and always able to come up with parts and fixes for something that is far from new. The office is also run very well and communication is excellent. I’ve no intention of going anywhere else than these guys.

I highly recommend Excel Pool. The service is excellent. The pool always looks great. Anytime something is not working, the service person takes the parts that need fixing and leaves a note. They always contact me for approval when the cost will be over $ 50. The fix is almost always installed on the next visit.

Excel has been servicing our pool for years and has repeatedly demonstrated their excellent support, expertise, and customer relations. Most recently, we decided to ask them to try to correct a longstanding problem we had with the jet action in the spa. They really worked hard to finally discover that the underground plumbing had been set up incorrectly by a leak detection company while doing repairs. This was very difficult to diagnose, and took a lot of work to fix. They handled the whole thing in a turnkey manner. We really appreciate Excel!

Excel has been servicing my pools at least 15 years. They are very reliable, capable and responsive. Anna in the office is always very polite and knowledgable. Tom & Jim both have helped me solve problems with the pool equipment. Our weekly maintenance guy, Jesus, is dependable and friendly.
I highly recommend their service.

We have used Excel for close 40 years, way back when they were in Los Altos Very fair and attentive to our needs. They work with you and have provided good referrals for things they don’t do, like resurfacing and upgrades. Wish they were closer, but they are close to Costco, and we are loyal customers.
