Dr. Wesley Kong performed surgery on me for enlarged prostate and bladder stones. The surgery went well and the results have been quite good.

Dr Kong is not only a nice man but he is one of the most thorough specialists I have ever met. He genuinely cares about his patients and will not give up until the issue has been resolved. I find Lisa W’s review«funny» because she is so far off base with her review of Dr. Kong that I would like to tell her that possibly her pregnancy caused her incontinence. This is a pretty common side effect from childbirth. Will she blame her child?

This review is for Dr. Kong. My wife had an emergency room visit but couldn’t get appointments from the two doctors recommended by the ER doctor. They didn’t care if the referring ER physician said to get to a urologist in two days time. On the other hand, Dr. Kong’s office understood the urgency and squeezed my wife in as soon as they could. That’s a huge worry off my mind. It’s terrible watching someone you care about suffer. Very grateful for taking care of my wife along with the friendly office staff that actually understood our situation.

This review is for Dr. Wesley Kong. I have been under the care of another Urologist for interstitial cystitis. The treatments weren’t helping so he referred me to Dr. Kong since he specializes in female urology and IC. I called his office on a Thursday and they were able to get me in the very next day. First I went into the exam room and Dr. Kong’s nurse did a few tests and took down me concerns. Next I went into Dr. Kong’s office and met with him. He is very direct and a no BS kind of doctor which I loved about him. He was very interested in my past and getting to know me. He wanted to help me and said if he couldn’t he would send me to someone that could. Rather refreshing for a doctor to say if they can’t help you they’ll help find someone that can. We went back into the exam room and he performed a cystoscopy and saw my that my interstitial cystitis was flared up. He explained how he planned on treating me and instilled a cocktail of steroids, lidocaine and some other medications into my bladder. It actually started feeling better while I was still in the exam room. We decided I would have regular installations until my IC was under control and he also referred me to a physical therapist to help build my pelvic muscles. Which he said will help tremendously with my IC. I have been suffering from IC for 24 years and have seen a dozen different Urologists from all over and I must say«I have never met one that I felt totally understands how this disease affects your way of life» until Dr. Kong. He is straight forward and doesn’t beat-around-the-bush. I am VERY thankful I finally have a doctor that I feel will help me with something that’s plagued me most of my life. Please don’t let the 1 star review from Lisa W. deter you from going to Dr. Kong. Take it from someone that has 24 years of experience with Urologists, «this guy knows his business!»

I am giving 1 star for the friendly office staff, and also because zero stars are not an option. I was originally referred to another dr., but ended up seeing Dr. Wesley Kong because he had open appointments. I was urinating blood with no other symptoms, and was referred for a ct, but couldn’t have it done because I am currently breastfeeding. I got an ultrasound instead, and went to the office for the cystoscopy. I was VERY hesitant to have it done and shared my concerns with the nurse BEFORE signing the consent form. I was concerned about the side effects, particularly losing control of my bladder. She assured me that NEVER happens, and the only side effect was slight burning with urination. The dr. agreed. After the cystoscopy, the pain while urinating was nearly unbearable. I now have trouble controlling my bladder, and emptying it, which were never problems before. When I called the office the next day, the nurse said she was sorry, and Dr. Wesley Kong said that she and he didn’t lie, but it rarely happens. He said, «When a car salesman sells you a car, he doesn’t tell you it might blow up!» I now hold used car salesmen in higher esteem than Dr. Wesley Kong. So if you’re having a cystoscopy, you may be left with pain, burning, and a loss of bladder function, but they won’t tell you that. While his website says he studied urinary incontinence, it should also be noted that he causes it. I am only 35 years old, and asked the necessary questions before having this procedure. If I had been informed of the risks involved, I never would have had it done. Dr. Wesley Kong has told me he has no idea how long I will have to live like this, but he is sorry. An apology seems very thin for the pain, embarrassment, and inconvenience of living with urinary incontinence, which I never had before he and his nurse lied to me.
