Astrid Gaiser Design is exclusively working on residential projects and specializes in designs that allow extensive outdoor living for our clients, treating the garden as an extension of the house with outdoor rooms for lounging, dining, cooking, playing, meditating, and relaxing.

Our gardens show sustainable, unique designs with drought tolerant plants and custom, functional, and beautiful outdoor living solutions for the small urban townhouse lot as well as the large estate in the hills. They always reflect our clients’ personality and life style and they make their owners relax, smile, and enjoy.

We specialize in water-​wise gardens that only ask for a low level of maintenance in a CA Native, Mediterranean, Modern, or our very own «Northern California Tropical» style.

History

Established in 2005.

Astrid, founder of Astrid Gaiser Design, has been designing gardens in the Bay Area since 2000. First as a counterpoint to her career in high tech, and since 2005 as her main business.

Her primary goal is to design outdoor spaces that allow their owners to relax and find serenity — even if the only interaction with their garden on a given day is just looking out a window.

The use of water, a balance of sun & shade in a garden, several different places to sit down and relax even within small gardens, and luxurious layers of plants are Astrid’s trademarks.

Astrid’s background in the business-​to-​business market as a director of product management profits her customers today: Clients of Astrid Gaiser Design are heard. Their dreams, wishes, and ideas are very important and they are skillfully translated into detailed requirements a contractor can build from. The results are beautiful landscapes and happy customers.
