Artistic Stone Kitchen & Bath – Mountain View

They have great collections. We remodeled the entire kitchen and two bathrooms, entryway… We ordered every tile, backsplash, granite, quartzite from them.
They have no knowledge in suggesting the color variations between the samples and the ones they deliver. We had a very hard time with multiple orders of varying colors. Later when I visited another store in San Jose, the salespeople were very knowledgeable in explaining how and why the colors may vary and what is the range of shade I can expect my delivery… I think it is very important to know before we place the order.
The problem is once they deliver — you can’t return without a shipping, restocking fee.
And constructing your home and managing a huge project is very time sensitive and because they didn’t explain clearly (which other stores do) we ended up wasting time.

We used Artistic stone for new counter and backsplash installation in our kitchen remodel. We wanted Cambria countertops and so certified installers are limited — I thought their pricing was on par with other quotes. We had a simple white subway tile backsplash put in as well. The crew demolished the older counter, backsplash, and ceramic sink, measured, and prepped wood counter and wall etc. They also physically installed the undermount SS sink that we purchased online. The workmen were courteous and seemed commited to doing a good job. They were especially careful with moving around our appliances. We even took their suggesion of going with the quartz material for the windowsill. I think the office (getting quotes) and communication between the office and workshop (where they cut/​prep etc) could be a little better. But they stayed with their timeline and got the job done quite quickly both from a scheduling and #days work aspect. Overall we are very satisfied (3 months later) with the workmanship. It looks wonderful. The Cambria quartz is a marvelous product.

Maria was very knowledgeable but we encountered two problems:
1. The actual quote we received turned out to be more than DOUBLE the estimate. When we politely expressed surprise, Maria responded defensively, in an angry tone, by saying that the quote was «only» an estimate. Well, yes, but a 100% margin of error is a bit much. Wouldn’t it have been more professional to simply admit that you goofed?
2. With a rather high cost on the labor portion (not entirely competitive, relative to some other quality providers), we politely inquired about purchasing the materials only. Our query was ignored. In general, a polite customer query should not be ignored. This, too, is unprofessional and not good business practice. Beyond that, we were originally told that purchasing materials only was an option, which made our question entirely legitimate.
Rating: 1.5 stars off for each of the above issues.

My husband and are are renovating the entire inside of our home and it has been a big undertaking. We decided to try All Natural Stone and have been very pleased with our experience there. At the last minute we reached out to one of their designers Rosanna Marks. She is nothing short of amazing. Rosanna knows her tiles and granites, and has an excellent design sense. I am an expert in my field snd can say without a doubt that she is an expert in hers! We have been extremely pleased and appreciate someone with Rosanna’s professionalism and attention to detail. All Natural Stone is awesome and so is Rosanna!

The kitchen upgrades for us were both financial and emotional investment and for that we visited many shops and vendors until we finalized Artistic for this job. I would say Maria was one of the biggest factor we decided to go with them. She instilled a sense of confidence and trust. And overall they did good job in fabrication and installation. The transaction was clear and transparent. There had been few hiccups and delays during the project but I thinks that’s normal in construction. But the final outcome was very good and it was a value for the money. Definitely recommended.

Great service and competitive prices. We were about to start a master bathroom remodel and but only needed a ½ slab stone for our vanity top. After checking out the full granite/​quartz slab pricing elsewhere we decided to purchase a prefab ½ slab here. Maria was helpful, gave us samples of quartzite, and held a similar ½ quartzite slab for us at their warehouse across the Bay. She was great with all our questions and arranged for installation. Highly recommend their business.

My experience with this company began in June 14 via email. Without commitment, Maria spent the time to look at my emailed drawings and come up with a preliminary cost based on the colors that I was looking for. She explained my slab and prefab options for quartz, and was always willing to answer my question after question. One day I spent 8 hours visiting stone and cabinet places, including this store’s warehouse in the East Bay. Though small, I really liked their selection of prefab quartz. They even have pieces that you can take home with you. A month later I came in to put down my deposit at the Mountain View location. The staff were busy, but attentive. They were careful to make sure that enough material was purchased and that they had it all in stock. Fast forward 2 months, after flooring setbacks, and they were able to install my counter tops on a Saturday. ** The cutting process produces a lot of dust***. Sebastian, our installer, arrived within his window and installed the material. Although my sink could not be installed the way I wanted (specific challenges with my sink and not anything to do with the installation process or installer), he explained what he would do and things turned out fine. Yes, we did have dust in the house, but he was careful and even held a vacuum against the drill while cutting out my faucet holes. I was concerned about how and where the seams would be, but you can’t even where they are (a lot to do with the pattern that I chose). The corners and seams were cut and worked in as though that counter was made for my kitchen. Before they left, both he and his helper hosed down my garage doors, driveway, and even my jasmine and fruit trees that were coated in the dust. They cleaned up the counter-​top and left with it shining! We looked at probably 8 stone places and happy that we chose Artistic Stone. I have no regrets about using them and recommend them without any reservation. Good luck with your money pits!

This is a review of pricing only. I came to Artistic Stone & Tile because I was unhappy with my contractor’s pricing for countertop installation. I got a quote from Artistic Stone & Tile to install prefab countertops and it came out to be about $ 4k — which was better than my contractor’s pricing. BUT — Artistic Stone & Tile charges a boat load if you need to finish an edge (I needed 66″ finished to get an island to the appropriate depth), which is where they get you.
I ultimately went elsewhere, and got slabs custom cut and installed for the same price as Artistic Stone & Tile quoted me to install prefab.

Outstanding service! Both Maria and Michael offered their expertise and fantastic design eye to help me select for my kitchen remodel a lovely caesarstone quartz countertop, gorgeous tile for the backsplash, and flooring tile that I fell in love with– all paired beautifully together. They are generous with their time and have great attention to detail.

We just completed a major kitchen and laundry room remodel. Maria Herrier did a terrific job helping us through counter & backsplash choices. So, 3 counters and 3 different backsplash treatments later, we have a gorgeous kitchen and laundry. We chose Artistic Stone after not getting much help in a higher-​end stone store. Maria (& others at Artistic Stone) were always willing to help us think thru design decisions without overwhelming us with choices. They communicate effectively over e-​mail, too.

We’ve purchased materials for two bathroom renovations and our experience was great both times. Maria is very helpful. The installers were on-​time, friendly and professional. The quality of the work was great.

There are hundreds of businesses in bay area providing services for home remodel and another couple of hundred good contractors that can do work at your home. You get only one chance with a customer, but sorry you blew it away, with your attitude. learn a thing or two from maria.

I met with Sakiko in the Mt. View store. I knew what I wanted ahead of time and she located the slab of honed granite for me. I went out and looked at it, approved it, they fabricated it and installed it along with the subway tile back splash. Their crews were professional and were very accommodating when I made a change on the back splash installation. I was really pleased with their service and highly recommend.

For most of my clients projects I select the stone, and I had used Artistic once before for a small simple job. It’s convenient that they have the granite countertop material in stock and edged. For my own small kitchen I selected Kashmir White.
The kitchen looks great, and some incidental damage was repaired cheerfully and professionally by a woodworker.
Unfortunately the stone is very porous, with visible fissures throughout after 3 coats of sealer; it fogs or stains readily; the sample I ordered from had almost no fissures. Good to be aware that pre-​finished products vary — for a client I would inspect the actual slabs at the yard but of course, the cobblers children go w/​o shoes.

I bought ceramic tiles to replace my bathroom floors, shower and jacuzzi walls, and granite counters. I wanted modern, elegant, subtle dark tiles with light colored granite counters. Sakiko Ueno recommended the perfect tiles. The dark jacuzzi and shower tiles are striking, with a dark bamboo feel. The 12″ x 24″ dark floor tiles have the exact effect. The light granite counters provide the exact effect. I could not be more pleased. The overall result far exceeds my expectations. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and aesthetics of the tiles and granite.

For years I’ve wanted to remodel our kitchen. I especially disliked our outdated tile countertop. We finally decided the time was right. After a lot of research and obtaining a few quotes, we decided to go with Artistic Stone. Maria was very easy and pleasant to work with. She helped guide me in picking out the correct stone. I chose delicatus medium, and it’s just gorgeous. The color and natural stone patterns and crystals are so beautiful, and compiment my brown cabinets perfectly. Marcos and a helper were the installers, their workmanship was excellent, and I liked how they cleaned up before they left (they even swept behind the refrigerator!). My kitchen is now more beautiful than I ever imagined it could be. So if you are looking for beautiful granite counters, good workmanship, at a reasonable price, I recommend Artistic Stone!

After my experience here, this is the absolute last time I rely on Unilocal reviews to make a decision regarding anything that involves a large monetary investment. If you want details about my experience with these «professionals», I’ll be glad to share via email. For sake of this review, I would suggest you do your homework and get a contractors license yourself in order to be able to ensure your order and installation is correct; they may as well sell and fit shoes for all the ‘expertise’ available.
My suspicions should have been triggered the minute I saw the review ratings. FIVE STARS for every single rating, 20 reviews in a row? –really-​??? If that doesn’t seem a bit pre-​meditated and unauthentic I don’t know what does.
Don’t think that spending more money is going to get you a quality job. I could have paid half as much elsewhere and received double the satisfaction and quality.

For many years we had dreamed of replacing our kitchen counter tops and back splash. Every couple of years we would start taking the steps to making our kitchen dreams come true and then find ourselves completely overwhelmed with the actual process and give up!
Not this time… we searched Unilocal and found Artistic Stone Kitchen & Bath. We were so fortunate to walk into their Mountain View location one evening when Maria Herrier was working. Maria was so kind to us when we walked in that we knew we needed to stay a while and talk with her about our kitchen. Maria is an experienced designer and was able to listen to what we wanted and then make suggestions that guided us to create the kitchen we had always wanted! With her assistance we chose granite (African Bordeaux) and complimentary tile for the back splash. Maria suggested lovely accent tiles to add to our back splash and the result is a beautiful design that compliments the granite counter tops. In addition we purchased our kitchen sink through Artistic Stone Kitchen & Bath… this further simplified the process for us and we LOVE it!
In the weeks leading up to our installation everyone we worked with at Artistic Stone Kitchen & Bath was fantastic. Helen helped us select our pieces of granite at the San Leandro warehouse — her patience was so appreciated!
Julian and Daniel were our demolition and installation team for both the counter tops and the back splash. They did a great job and were detail oriented.
We’re looking forward to working with Artistic Stone Kitchen & Bath again… next up… the bathrooms!

I especially like the fact that we were allowed to change color up to a few days before our scheduled install. Sebastian and the workers did an excellent job with the installation. They were very clean and professional and always showed up on time. Highly recommended.

We purchased our granite from and had it installed by Artistic Stone in Mountain View/​San Leandro. A friend of ours had highly recommended it and we now highly recommend it to everyone else. We went with prefab which made the granite affordable and we felt that there was an excellent selection from Artistic Stone. We love the granite that we purchased. It has a lot of depth, color and charm.
Besides being very competitive with their pricing, what we loved most about Artistic Stone was the service that they provided. We worked most with Maria Herrier but everyone that we spoke with or worked with was amazing and supportive and helpful. We couldn’t have asked for a better team. They were willing to give us advice even if it wasn’t going to help them financially. For instance, they gave us some tips on the current trend for backsplashes and we ended up using less granite than we were going to initially. This didn’t necessarily benefit Artistic Stone but they wanted us to be happy with our end result. I thought that was a strong indicator of their integrity.
Julian and Daniel did the actual installation and they did a phenomenal job. They had to do two seams and both were flawless. Our house is an old Victorian and our walls are not square but the granite is perfectly fitted to our slightly misshapped kitchen.

While we ended up only buying a small amount of tile with Artistic, I have to say that working with Mike was one of the best experiences we’ve had while looking for tile. Mike is extremely helpful and goes the extra mile to get you what you are looking for.
Pricing wise, they are about middle of the road, which is why we ended up only buying a small amount of tile. Selection is also middle of the road. Go here for the service though. They will also do installations for you if you need it.
