History

Established in 2001.

We opened in September 2001, with a 1000 square feet in downtown Mount Vernon with around 10,000 books. In In 2006, we bought the former City Bakery building with 4000 square feet and around 50,000 books. We have not stopped growing offering used books, new books, movies, cards by local artist, comic books, Paperblank journals, book lights, reading glasses and many other book related accessories. We offer on-​site book repair online ordering and book appraisals.

Such a cute little used book store in the middle of downtown Mount Vernon. I was drawn to the $ 1 and $ 0.50 kids book rack outside the store and found myself venturing in. There are so many books and the store is quite large that I don’t really know how to describe it. The staff is quite friendly and helpful. It all looks overwhelming and a little messy but I was able to find what I was looking for. It’s worth a stop and look around!

A cat wearing an afghan, an espresso bar and pretty much an entire room dedicated to romance novels… these are the things that make a great used bookstore. Not that I read romance novels, but I was impressed by the immense volume of them. They also have a nice selection of whatever else might tickle your fancy from Historical Fiction to Supernatural Romance and whatever is in between. I only gave them 4 stars because the espresso bar is sort of sad and my chai tea gave me diabetes.
