Service is phenomenal, ton of beer choices, although we stuck to food. Fries were crispy and perfectly seasoned. Riblettes were slightly sweet, not overly so, and really had the perfect amount of sauce(enough to coat and flavor, but not over powering), with a little bit of crisp around the edges. Elk burger was a bit lack luster… even for elk it was a bit dryer than I’m used to, and very dearly needed some seasoning. Fun, mixed crowd here, feels like a great place to meet up with friends.

Went for dinner. Food was good as well as service. It was seat your self, appeared to have a laid back atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.

It happened to be Happy Hour(s) when we went there. They had great taps(Farmhand Nitro Porter was excellent), the food was very good, especially the vegetarian sandwich offered. The happy hour foods were also good. Our Server, Tyler, was excellent. Looking forward to going there again soon!

we came here after trying the thai place next door(see my tip for that), this was a great alternate dining options food pork rib tips-too chewy, but seasoned well salad with wasabi sauce and shrimp was delicious! salmon fillet with asparagus and potatoes– good ! service a bit slow, but it was busy, our waitress was nice ambiance nice, it looked like a converted garage, our original table was close to the restroom which smelled like pee, so we moved, they need to work on their cleanliness the bathrooms were reasonably clean, they just wreaked of urine parking street and it was free overall, we came after visiting the tulip festival and it was a good experience, i would recommend to anyone in the area

Went to the porterhouse while we were checking out mt. vernon. Really decent beer selection, and the food was awesome too. We started with an appetizer but it was so good that we decided to order a sandwich just because we wanted to eat more. I try not to give 5 stars too often, but between the excellent beer selection and delectable food, it’s completely warranted. Not sure if I need to go to mt. vernon again, but I would definitely check this place out again, and I’d basically live here if I were a local!

The wild boar burger was amazing. The atmosphere and drinks were standard pub fare. A little on the pricey side.

This has got to be one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. If you like Brie and garlic, definitely get this burger. The atmosphere at this place was pretty cool. My husband and I are from out of town and we had been traveling all day… We just wanted a nice relaxed place to get something to eat and we stumbled across this. I would highly recommend!

Good atmosphere. The nitro red was amazing. Food was timed and cooked perfectly. Michael gave great beer suggestions and let us taste before we committed. Bill was actually less than we expected considering we had 3 beers each, shared an appetizer and two burgers-$ 66!!! Parking is easy to find and free. Beer and wine only but has a great selection. Other patrons were very friendly as well

This was my second time there, I joined a couple friends of mine that where already there. when I came in I pass thru the waitress/bartender only employee serving 3 tables she was too busy talking to someone she knew at the bar to acknowledge anyone. I sat down waited about 15 minutes before she even checked our table, I ordered she brought it back no napkins for food she disappeared to the back after about 10 minutes she came out tried to get her attention and it didn’t work. Awful customer service loved the beer everything else was horrible would not come back or recommend it to anyone.

Great burgers. Friendly service. Prices were just a little high but not unreasonable. We had an enjoyable time! And they had ciders on draft

Man I was so disappointed… this has been our go to date night place when we are in town for about 2+ yrs. its time out without kids and since no minors policy perfect date night place. Its been awhile since we travel alot. The waitress was very sweet and didnt have to really wait for her or drinks. Apparently the menu changed recently… the nachos we always get… omg no flavor reduced portion… the whole reason I chose this is for the crunchy spicy veggies on it that are no longer there… it sux… plz plz bring back the flavor and spice and crunchy yummy nachos… waitress comped it but I really want the old style nachos… havent found them any where else like that… boooo… for the love of gods and all things powerful rethink your PORTERHOUSESTEAK seriously I dont really know how you managed to dry out a rare stk… how? 35 bux 16oz porterhouse stk and its thin med rare and dry… med rare perfect but thin and dry… Hey do you realize its in your name? Mashed potatoes cold not warm at all. The food use to be amazing and the wait was horrible and rude staff… we overlooked all of that just for great food and nice place. now food isnt par… drinks great and wait staff great!

GREAT place for Mt. Vernon. Beer and wine only. Good food. Big top tables and darts on the lower level. Closes at 11, otherwise I’d rate 5 stars. If you come too late, just suck it up and go play pool at Draft Pic’s.

My wife and i stopped in for a quick lunch and cold brew. Free parking can be found on the street as well in the community parking lot. Discover is an accepted form of payment. There was nothing quick about our lunch here. Severely understaffed with only one waitperson working the bar as well as the restaurant. We seated ourselves and waited 10 minutes for the table to be cleaned off. We waited another 10 minutes just for our brews to be served. We were seated for an hour before our lunch was finally set down in front of us. We each had a couple of local pints of brew for $ 5 each. Fair pricing. We shared the Porterhouse Cheeseburger for $ 12: cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and french fries. We had to cut our own burger to avoid having a split plate charge of $ 2. Overall the one waitperson was friendly, the brews tasty and the food decent. Hopefully the next time we stop in here, staffing will be sufficient.

I’m here all the time. And for good reason. The staff gets to know you. The beer selection never gets old. The food is artisan pub food. This is my third place: home, work, porterhouse.

This is the pub we come back to over and over as our regular«go to» spot. The atmosphere of the place is just so ‘pub”. Old wood beams and tables, the cozy fireplace, the garage door wall, we love it all. The staff is always very friendly even when the place is packed(which is often). We feel like they are family and they treat us just the same. We’ve never waited a long time for our food. The menu has something for everyone but my favorite is the prosciutto sandwich on artisan bread or the changing nightly specials. It’s all excellent. Of course I have to mention the incredible selection of beer on tap. Easily the best pub in Mount Vernon and we’ve tried them all.

I stopped in here on a whim for a beer and appy’s and was very impressed. First, their tap list is extraordinary — everything from craft pilsners to IPA’s to the darker stuff. And of course anyplace that has *two* brown ales on tap is a winner with me! The service was prompt and super friendly, and we enjoyed the $ 6 calamari which is part of their«all day Monday» happy hour, though I thought the portion was pretty small. I’ve been told to try their clam chowder, but at $ 13 for a bowl it will have to wait for another time. The place was super busy, too, always a good sign. A+ for beer and service… will try it again for food!

I love this place and come far too often. Michael is amazing, as is everyone who works here is(sans the older surly blonde who usually works in the day). Food is good, I recommend always getting one of the specials. And wasabi ranch! Beer is very good. Atmosphere is perfect for hanging out and catching up with friends.
