History

Established in 1962.

2012 marks a very special anniversary for Mount Vernon Towing — our golden anniversary! That’s right, this year we give homage to Les Faber who founded our company in 1962 — 50 years ago. The company initially formed as a towing operation, but over the last 50 years, has expanded to become Skagit Valley’s premier auto repair shop, towing operator and crane service, also serving Bellingham, Everett, Snohomish and Seattle.

«Dad would hardly recognize our facility today,» said Doug Faber, owner and son of Les Faber. «What would be familiar to him though, is the exceptional service we deliver to our customers each and every day. Our customers know they can trust our service technicians to take their family’s safety to heart. What’s been especially rewarding over the years, is to welcome our customer’s children and their children into the Mount Vernon Auto Repair family of customers,» reflected Doug.

I grew up in the Auto Repair business with my dad, Les, founding and owning Mount Vernon Auto repair. In 1979, I founded my own businesses, Mount Vernon Towing and Faber crane. I took over Mount Vernon Auto Repair in 1992 and have striven to keep dad’s dream alive while growing it into its current formation.
