Bargains Galore Thrift Store takes pride in keeping our store, as well as items for sale, clean and well displayed. Unique items, one of a kind, retro, vintage and collectibles can all be found at Bargains Galore Thrift Store in Mount Vernon. We are a local charity that is given wonderful donations from the community. The donations are sorted, cleaned and priced before being carefully displayed on Bargains sales floor. We are proud to say all proceeds stay in Skagit Valley.

History

Established in 1994.

How are stores born?

Our store began with a small group of grandparents talking about how to raise funds to help defray the cost of school tuition so more families could afford to send their children to christian school.

They then formed a board of directors and from that point on Bargains Galore Thrift Store was born. We are a 501 non profit organization who donates all our proceedes to Mount Vernon Christian School for tuition assistance.

We started with a volunteer base and have had to hire some folks as our store has grown, but we still have a large volunteer base and are thankful to those who give and have given so freely of their time to make the store vision a succes.

Business Owner

Bargains is a non profit under the administration of a Board of Directors. The board president and sitting members are a mix of men and women who volunteer their time doing the business of board. They are members from our local community who support the mission of BGTS. Besides the normal board position tasks, they each volunteer many hours every month volunteering in the thrift store or helping in bookkeeping, office work, administrative assist work, or tasks that support the daily running of the thrift store.
