History

Established in 1973.

In 1956, Marty Cooper moved to Mt. Shasta and opened a small sawmill named Cooper’s Mill. In 1973, Marty’s new attention became the motel business and in 1974 the Tree House Motor Inn and Restaurant became one of Mt. Shasta’s most modern and attractive establishments. Marty used many of the materials from his own mill in the construction of the Tree House. Throughout the hotel and restaurants you will still find his had crafted stairways, custom cabinets and hutches. The tables are custom cedar butcher block, quite unlike any other. Even though Marty is gone now, we welcome you to come enjoy this wonderful establishment with us and our great team at the Tree House.

New to Mt. Shasta, having moved up from Redding, CA in December 2013, to manage the Tree House, I am very excited to be a part of such a wonderful and historical establishment. The Tree House is an absolute dream to work for. I am truly privileged to be able to work along side such a dedicated staff, in such a beautiful environment. I never get tired of looking at the majestic Mount Shasta.

Definitely disappointed and would not recommend any of the beef. I ordered medium rare prime rib and they served me a well done pot roast. It wasn’t even the right cut of meat to be a prime rib. My husband ordered a rib eye steak medium rare and they served him a well done very thin price of meat of some sort. Vegetables were tasty and well as the baked potato, mashed potato, and dinner salad. Shrimp cocktail sauce was good, had a good bite to it and decent sized shrimp were served. Service was slow and dos not seem very knowledgable about the menu or how the items were prepared.

After 9 hours of road travel, this restaurant hit the spot!
New York Steak, steam veggies, and baked potato were on point!!!
But what really seal the deal was the crème brûlée (raspberry with chocolate)…
If you want a nice dinner after a long day of road travel, highly recommend this place.

My husband and I went for a dinner date night. Started off with a Chardonnay and Stella beer. Our server was friendly and fast. It being our date night, we wanted to enjoy the evening and we did just. We ordered the vegetable lasagna and fettucini alfredo. It was absolutely delicious. I can totally see us making this a weekly thing. Thank you Chef for delicious food. Thank you server for your great service.

Stopped here on the way back from the Marble Mountain Wilderness. After 3 days of backpacking food, most things taste pretty good, but the chicken sandwich with avocado, sauteed mushrooms, provolone, and garlic sweet potato fries was actually quite incredible. Topped it off with a «Tesla charge,» their signature mixed drink in honor of the supercharging stations in the parking lot. And, if you want a server with copious charm, pep, and humor, make sure to ask for Ms. Weed.

Dinner time.
This place will not seat you until exactly 5:00 p.m., gives time to browse the menu ugh.
Too bad the front desk agent were not running the restaurant, they were extremely helpful and recommended it.
The hostess is not friendly, just looks like she does not want to be there, hair unkept and wrinkled uniform, where is the manager???
The waitress, she too was not friendly.
When the man next to us was eating his salad, he said to her, «miss, my food will be Luke warm to cold when I get to it, can you take it back ?» The waitress stared at him, then walked away.
I Just simply felt that I was forcing her to do her job that she applied for.
I am not down with sloppy work appearances either.
I will not recommend not visit this place, when I return to the area.

CAME JADED, LEFT HAPPY!
Always weary of a place that’s connected to where you’re staying, but the Tree House restaurant isn’t bad, in fact we were pleasently surprised. The 10% coupon wasn’t the main incentive but given the options within walking distance (sandwich shop, pizza, and a chain restaurant that I only gave 2 stars) this seemed like a nice alternative.
Seated outside, our server Thomas was professional and attentive, but not hovering. He took our order, brought out our water and wine quickly. Not knowing the restaurant and the fact that it was fairly busy, we ordered safe items: hamberger and chicken burger. Food came out within 8 minutes. The burger must have been a half pound with lots of lettuce, tomato and red onion. The chicken burger had bacon and cheese along with the above garnish. I thought that this would be another standard burger experience but were wrong. The burger was actually very good, cooked to order. The chicken was also grilled and very moist. Had the sweet potato fries and cole slaw.
Since staying at the Best Western, we had the breakfast buffet the following morning. This was a full service breakfast with lots of everything. The variety was plentiful and the coffee was actually good. The wait staff was attentive and made sure you were taken care of.
Overall the experience, food, ambiance and service was fine. Given the other options around, this place is a hit. And yes, we did use the 10% coupon for dinner while staying at the Best Western.

I ordered the clam appetizer even though the sauce was good they didn’t wash and rinse them so they were gritty! I also had the wedge salad, the blue cheese dressing was good, however they poured it on like gravy which made it a bit overwhelming! Service was very good and effecient.
