Good seafood, nice view and convenient for an afternoon or evening walk on the boardwalk; however, service is lacking! We’ve been several times hoping for better, but service remains slow, order was wrong and waitresses are either rushed or not friendly at all.

Had lunch outside with great service, even got to see a couple of dolphins. The shrimp and grits were great.

Fresh tasting seafood with large portions. Beautiful views. Fried flounder and shrimp were yummy. Fried sea bass was fresh and delicious. The coleslaw contains blue cheese, so it’s not for everyone. Overall, a good dinner. I’ll be back.

Best artichoke dip I’ve ever tasted. Also the shrimp and scallops was delicious. Would definitely recommend this place

I am a huge fan of the Vickery. Food is very good. Location is amazing for the views on Shem Creek. It has good crowds, but you can typically get a good table unless you are at the busiest time of a crazy weekend. Consistently see dolphins while sitting on the deck. Fantastic!

Great food, and awesome relaxing environment on the creek. I had the choose 2 seafood platter and a sweet tea. The flounder and scallops were great and the cocktail sauce made it even better and I usually only like crab legs for seafood. My family as a while loved it there and pricing was fairly reasonable for seafood. Only real issue we had was the waiter was slow on refills of our drinks but he was pretty busy when we were there. Still loved the place and hope to return again.

So far the best Shrimp and Grits I’ve had in Charleston, and there’s been a lot, is at Vickerys. Lucky enough for a group of 6 to get on the patio, albeit at a smaller table. Patio is much better than inside, weather dependent of course. Compared to the other restaurants on Shem Creek, great touristy but still local place for the price.

I had high hopes, but came away kinda blah. Great waitress. Decent menu. Nothing spectacular. Nothing terrible but nothing great either.

Went here for the reggae on the creek event. It was a ton of fun. They have a huge outdoor area. The drinks were great the view even better.

I wasn’t impressed by this place but it served its purpose. There’s not really much to say. The service was meh, the staff was meh and the atmosphere was also… meh. Nice view though. I wouldn’t go back.

Thank you Adam for the best service we’ve ever had tonight. We appreciate the complimentary dessert too. We pretty much handled it like gangsters from the mean streets of California. Thanks again!!! We will be back for sure.

Nice location with a great view for sipping a cocktail or beer. Service was great for a Friday happy hour, even with a large party from work. Drinks were tasty with a good happy hour special(3 $ house liquor). Managed to try a few appetizers as well, the artichoke dip was tasty but very rich… Glad it was being split between the party. I would go back to enjoy a lunch/dinner and enjoy the view.

What a great little place and right on the water, too. I had the southern fried chicken with mashed potatoes. Chicken was delicious and not greasy. The potatoes were REALLY mashed with lumps and bits of skin. I could have eaten a barrel of them. Watch out for the attack birds on the outside deck!

Been coming to Vickery’s since the mid 90s. The downtown location has long since closed, but so glad this one is still kicking. Love the crab cake sammy, the ranch burger, and the black bean cakes. Never had anything I didn’t like. Haven’t lived in Charleston in years, but this is a place I always return too.

Saturday and they were busy but service was crappola. Took forever at the bar for an Amstel and. Sprite. No reason it had to be that way. The pie we ordered was pretty good and I’d get it again. Just don’t think this place is anything but a room next to Shem with a view that is calming and mrn

What an awesome restaurant to visit! Beautiful views of Shem Creek. Outdoor seating available in restaurant and bar. If you sit outside, you can watch the wildlife for a truly enjoyable experience. Dolphins come up into the creek at times and it’s great to watch them. The food here is also awesome! Some of the best fried green tomatoes you will eat. The southern fried chicken is fried chicken tenders served with mashed potatoes and collards(we substituted vegetable medley). The tenders are hand breaded and absolutely fabulous. They are served with a little cup of pepper gravy. The fried grouper is excellent! The low country sauté is also very delicious. I really enjoyed our visit to Vickery’s. The food, service and view are all definitely worth a visit.

The main things that I love about Vickery’s are the great happy hour in the bar and the awesome views of Shem Creek. If you have a chance to sit outside, go for it. The bar is pretty standard, but the bartenders are friendly and helpful and the happy hour pricing is great. It’s a great spot to grab a drink, unwind from the day and take in the gorgeous view. The food is good, nothing extraordinary, but I do appreciate that they have more than one option for vegetarians. I’ve had their veggie burger and the portobello mushroom sandwich. No complaints on either one. On one visit home, my son had the fried shrimp and really enjoyed it.

Vickerys is the reliable favorite. Seafood, burgers, appetizers, desserts, drinks, and a great atmosphere. Can’t beat it on Shem creek. Wonderful staff to boot.

What do you do when you can’t get into Tavern & Table for two hours? You go to Vickery’s of course. Vickery’s offers a fantastic view and a fairly forgettable meal.(Actually I just noticed on their website that they’ve had a Vickery’s in Atlanta for 30+ years and I’ve never even heard of it. Case in point.) Fortunately they were also able to seat our party of 7 immediately on a Friday night. It’s a whole lot of fried seafood to choose from. Fried shrimp, calamari, oysters, and chicken wings were spread all around. You can’t mess fried seafood up, so these all passed the test. I had a shrimp and scallop pasta that our server swore was mind-blowing. I found it mediocre and majorly lacking in flavor. I think everyone enjoyed their meals, but it can more so be chalked up to the company, the view, and the shots of tequila. Will I go back to Vickery’s? Sure. Will I suggest going back to Vickery’s for dinner? Probably not. Honestly Vickery’s is a killer patio and I’ll probably be back next time for drinks and apps only. It’s not bad it’s just not memorable.
