Matt, the owner…“was” a nice guy! Sold him a few coins where he found me on a coin forum I created a few years ago on FB. Matt text me dozens of times and we talked on the phone then consummated a few deals. Matt purchased a 1798 silver dollar from me for his«own personal collection!», later complaining to me he could not sell it for what he paid for it! Buying coins from me was Matt’s choice as a coin dealer and alleged professional, not mine! Matt referred to me as «*Buddy» and«Pal» a bunch of times in communicating with me –frown!, both in written and oral communication I have saved. His condescending but cool guy way of talking. Matt is probably 20+ years younger than I. Matt then asked if I would sell him an 1840 half dime for a discount! I did… and actually did so only to be nice to him. Result-when we discussed the possible purchasing by Matt for a few very rare high end US coins i had Matt didn’t enjoy the simple fact that i wasn’t going to sell them for 20% less than i paid for them regardless of a) the current coin market or B) Matt’s research he alone decided was the only and proper guide to determining value! Net result-Matt goes into a tiraid and curses and swears at me! I guess this is professional and how Matt does business with other coin professionals he refers to often as «Buddy» or «Pal».I have pity on Matt and hope he does not talk to his wife or children either like this or in front of them like this. I was never rude or disrespectful to Matt and sadly… this is how he conducts his coin business! AT the end of dealing with Matt his character and mouth are pretty sad!
