Hudson’s Import Service

Cliff, Stephanie and staff are always courteous and thorough in handling maintenance or larger issues with my car. I feel like the pricing is always competitive and lower than dealer pricing. I also never feel like I’m being pressured into a service or part that is unnecessary. Also — gotta love the complimentary Americana car wash with each service! I would highly recommend having Hudson’s Imports service your vehicle.

Anyone with a foreign car should know about Hudson Import. They are without a doubt the most trusted car repair shop I’ve dealt with in my 17 years of driving. As a matter of fact, I just switch from a Dodge to a Nissan, and the fact that I could use Hudson’s again was a determining factor. They are very knowledgeable and extremely nice. I am not sure if it is a family run business but it does have that feel. I had my Dodge for 5 years, then came back to Hudson and they remembered me from past dealings. My only complaint/​request of Hudson is that they aren’t open on Saturdays. Beat mechanic in the low country.

Everytime I call I get transferred to a sales rep and he compares my car to other vehicles, which doesn’t help my situation one bit and really quite annoying. If you drive a Volvo, don’t bother, hell tell you how crappy your car is if it was made in the last two decades. I love my car. If i was buying a new car id be at the dealership. He always gives me the worst case scenarios as well. Never optimistic and quoted me a brand new cluster instrument at least $ 1,000 instead of offering an optimistic option of checking the connection or a fuse first. I took it to a friend and it was simply one bad fuse. The one fuse corrected my dash, air conditioning, and parts of my console along with my driver seat adjustment. Definitely got lucky, but if i had gone here I’m positive i would have been buying an entire new dash, etc. I also had a tiny area of my bumper that was coming loose and he told me id have to take it to a body shop and that they’ll have to replace my entire bumper. It was ONE screw that got replaced. Just very negative and way too sure of everything he says when he’s in fact not positive at all.

After a phone call asking about bringing my Subaru in for an estimate, they say bring it in, no problem. On arrival, Lady at the desk asks if we had an appointment. We explain the phone call. Nope we needed an appointment. And they don’t repair subarus. Great. So. After driving across town, i still have a sick Subaru. I was late to work. Huge inconvenience. Make sure when you call, you talk to the correct person because some people who answer the phones are oblivious.

As a female, I’ve always dreaded taking my car to get serviced or repaired. There have definitely been times where I’ve felt taken advantage of just because of my age and sex. From my first phone conversation with Cliff, I have always felt comfortable taking my car to Hudson’s. I had an older Volkswagen that I was planning on selling. Lowcountry VW had told me I needed to pump thousands into all these crucial repairs. I didn’t buy it and took it to Hudson’s. Since then, Cliff has always been honest about letting me know what things I should and shouldn’t spend time and money on getting fixed. They’re probably more expensive than others but I think it’s completely worth it. I’ve always been pleased with everyone from Hudson’s. They truly excel with customer service. I recently sold my VW and they definitely helped facilitate that whole process with doing a complete diagnostic, completing the essential repairs, and then even going over everything with the new owner. Highly recommend and I only wish I had found Hudson’s sooner.

I moved to Hanahan from Charlotte NC and went to several different mechanics. Everytime I would get something fixed, something else would break on my car. TOO COINCIDENTAL. A friend refered Hudson’s to me and I couldn’t be happier. I do have to drive to Mt. P, but its worth it.

Excellent customer service! I encountered some additional problems after getting my car serviced there, and they worked really hard to make me happy– I ended up getting a great deal from them and I’ll definitely be back.
