History

Established in 2011.

Elite Dance International Studio and Apparel in Mount Pleasant opened its doors on January 2, 2011 with a grand ceremony featuring performances by professional dancers, raffle tickets, and an art auction! Over 200 people came out to enjoy the festivities and check out the new venue. Several large dance ballrooms are complete with a full wall of mirrors, an area for music setup, and neatly arranged rows tables and chairs for observers and students.

Classes include Tango, Swing, Shag, Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Cha-​cha, Rumba, Hip Hop, Wedding dance programs, as well as social dancing nights and performances.

Marina Fridmanovich, owner and professional dancer at Elite Dance Studio, says that her main goal for the studio is to expand social and competitive ballroom, Latin and swing dancing throughout the LowCountry.

Business Owner

Marina grew up in her father’s dance studio in the Siberian town of Krasnoyarsk. At the age of four she began intensively studying, training and competing in the top Ballroom Dance arenas. Her passion, discipline and drive for dance have continued throughout her life and became the source of inspiration to open Elite Dance International Studio and Apparel. A champion in many ballroom dance national events, she has a love for competition and a commitment to Dancesport, a competitive ballroom category that demands top athletic and mental focus. Wanting to share her passion and knowing that basics are the key to success, Marina is excited to instill the technique and form taught throughout her Russian training with students at Elite!
