Delicious chewy bagels! It seems like they’ve tweaked their bagel recipe recently, as the texture of the bagels seems more authentic than it used to be. Sometimes, service can be slow/disorganized, so keep that in mind if you’re grabbing breakfast before work.

I am always happy when I come here. The breakfast sandwiches are great. I just discovered their cupcakes, way better than the other cupcake place in the same plaza! Their gluten free cupcakes are very good, even for a place where their specialty is bagels!

Delicious! One of my favorite Bagel places. The lox is delicious I highly recommend it along with any of their bagel sandwiches, my favorite is turkey and cheddar.

My first visit was today. I had an everything bagel, with two eggs cheddar cheese and pastrami. It was by far the best breakfast sandwich I have had in years. The boars head pastrami was out of this world. We have just moved to town and I am sold. First five star rating I’ve ever given. Thank you thank you thank you

The Charleston Bagel Company is a terrific choice for a no-fuss breakfast(or lunch) if you live in, work in/near, or, are shopping in Belle Hall Station, as I was, a few weeks ago. It was late morning. I spotted CBC as I was walking to my car after leaving Petsmart … and with ‘food’ on my mind … I decided to check it out. I immediately liked its curb appeal … convenient location at the end of a strip, ample parking … and lots of umbrella’d outdoor seating. After taking a few moments to review the well priced Breakfast menu selections, including, but not limited to, scrambles, breakfast sandwiches, omelettes and specials I opted for a Western Omelette($ 5.49), a double toasted everything bagel with a shmear of veggie cream cheese($ 2.42) and a cup of the locally roasted King Bean coffee, medium roast. As my visit was during an ‘off hour’ my order was taken quickly at the point of sale by a very friendly cashier and ‘up’ at the counter, ready for my pickup, in minutes. I had my choice of seating. As a former New Yorker, I’ve come to terms that no bagel outside the Big Apple measures up to a ‘real’ New York bagel(sure, I’ve had few that have come close) but since the ‘bagel’ portion of CBC’s menu does not make reference to that great city, I was OK with its everything-topped product and satisfied with the texture and amount of cream cheese, served on the side.(Note: The menu selection comes with an order of toast; however, I chose to up-charge for the bagel and the cream cheese.) My coffee was piping hot and fresh tasting. My omelette was nicely filled with diced ham, peppers, tomatoes, onions and American cheese and topped with an extra helping of these ingredients. Frankly, It was not remarkable; however, it was tasty. I’ve been back several times since my first visit and pleased that the customer service and quality of my selection(s) has been consistent … and, that’s a good thing.

I’ve been coming here for years. Used to be good back in the days of the old owner, David. You cannot strictly employ teenagers and think your customers are not noticing that the horrible service reflects managements preference for cheap labor. Additionally, and this must be new, a dude in dreads strumming a guitar right inside the front door. Yup. Kill me. In the confined chaos that is this place on a Saturday, they’re wasting precious seating by bringing this in. Not relaxing, not entertaining, not anything. Would rather see them pay an adult to ensure my order was correct than pay him to make noise. My order? One toasted plain bagel with vege cream cheese to-go. Estimated wait time, 19 minutes. Got home and unwrapped a toasted everything bagel with butter. Every time it’s like this anymore. Not worth my time or my effort.

I picked up a dozen bagels here recently. Good selection of flavors, but the bagels are too bready for my tastes. Needs a better crust. Is this just the South’s idea of a bagel?

I love this place! The staff is always friendly and accommodating. They have a great selection of breakfast items and a lot more than just bagels. The best part is I can walk there from my apartment community!

Not a bad place to get a bagel sandwich, just get here early to beat the crowd because the kitchen gets pretty backed up. They also have a nice selection of coffee.

Been going here ever since I was a little kid. Always great service and great food. Coffee is local and brewed fresh. Bagels are made locally and taste fresh! Love the book exchange they have in the front. Best place to sit with friends or family and share a nice breakfast(vegan options) and coffee.

Had the biscuit and gravy platter. Atmosphere of restaurant is nice. Coffee was great. The eggs, bacon, and biscuits not so much. Just typical food I could have done at home. Kind of bland, not a lot of seasoning. Bagels are the pride of this place so stick with those. Wouldn’t recommend anything of the breakfast platters.

When Laura and I first moved to our apartment in Mt. P Charleston Bagel was a regular for us to kick start the morning. I like that it’s a casual, come as you are place. The order counter makes it easy to get in and out. Breakfast selections are pretty good as well. What sets them apart for me is the stellar coffee. It really does taste great, and that’s saying a lot since I have several thousands of dollars invested in Starbucks. But the major securing pint that will bring me back is location, location, location! I can walk from my apartment and that makes you perfect in my book. I highly suggest the Western Omelet. It’s got the right mix of vegies and cheese without anyone thing over powering it. They make everything there in the kitchen so your egg dishes are sure to be made to order and hot!

I really wanted to like this place, as good bagels are very few and far between here in Charleston. Arrived here around 10 on a Saturday morning, it was busy as expected. The staff seems to be mostly high school students, which is great because I think you should work in high school, but is also a detriment, because they don’t seem to care about working too hard or getting your order right. My sandwich came out a sloppy mess. Bacon only on one side, some mystery meat in there. Come on guys, have some pride in what you do. It took about 10 minutes after ordering to get our sandwiches, which is a bit too long if you ask me. I’m not sure if we will be back.

My husband and I adore this place. We always come for brunch on Sundays. Very fresh selection of bagel sandwiches and breakfast burritos. I get the Maybank every time I go, which has turkey, grilled onions, bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado, and cream cheese. I get it on a wheat everything bagel. It’s my favorite so far. I’m dying to try the Fisherman, which is their version of lox. We love the fruit salad, which is extra and part of the side + drink combo that you can add on to any entrée. Service has been great the four times we’ve been here and we have yet to be disappointed in the food — it’s always great. Just a tip… they sell one day-old bagels for half the price, so check for those before you go and buy the full-priced ones. We’re loyal customers through and through.

Love bagels? This is the place to go! They have a great variety of delicious breakfast and sandwich options as well as some tasty sweet treats. Limited seating but they do have outdoor dog friendly seating as well. Also, I recommend going early when the bagels are fresh baked, they are the best right out of the oven :)

Agree with the fella from NJ. Not the authority on authentic bagels, but Ive had slammin bagels up and down the east coast, and appreciate an oh so good bagel. What I do know, is that these bagels are not good. Today was my first visit; lunch around 1:30. Ordered the Wild Turkey; roasted turkey with smoked gouda, onions, lettuce and tomato. Sounds good, but the sandwich barely had any turkey on it, and the everything bagel was tough and stale tasting. For $ 6? WIth no sides? Ehhh… Wont be making a second visit. Pity. The fellas behind the counter were cool, and there was nice seating inside and out, but there are definitely better bagels in Mount P., albeit still overpriced(imo), but definitely better.

I am baffled by all the glowing reviews of the bagels here. These are not authentic bagels but an approximation. Good enough, I guess, since there don’t seem to be any real bagel places around the Charleston area. Let me say, I really want to like this place. Have been coming here over *years* hoping that their service would one day become less surly(not yet!), and that their food would improve(sadly no). Today I tried a «cheese» omelet(was that American cheese? if so, memo: that’s not real cheese!) it was supergreasy, and a lukewarm coffee, with a side of grumpiness at the counter. My question is this: is there nobody in the Charleston area who knows how to make a properly boiled, crusty, bagel? If some transplant would just do that, they would make a killing.

I’ve been to Charleston Bagel Company a few times now, and each time I’ve left satisfied. I’m from New Jersey, so of course, my standards are pretty high when it comes to a good bagel. When I first walked through the front doors, I have to say that I was a little taken aback by how pricey the items on the menu are. I’m used to my bagels being 90 cents each, but here the prices are significantly higher(not to mention — these are much smaller than the average New Jersey/New York bagel). But I’ll be fair, as I’ve had my share of lackluster bagels, and these definitely aren’t. Charleston Bagel Company is always well stocked with a variety of flavors, ranging from the traditional everything or poppy seed to the more adventurous, such as the sundried tomato or asiago-jalapeño. There are so many options, and never enough time left in Charleston to try them all! Nestled in Mount Pleasant’s bustling shopping center on Long Point Road, I’ve never found this place empty. Whether that’s a product of its ideal location, or its delicious bagels, I’m not sure. However, I do know that I’ll definitely be back next time I find myself in this quaint Charleston neighborhood.

Decent bagels, but nothing I’m writing home about. It’s their service that is really lacking. Last two experiences have been a let down. You would think a toasted bagel with a smear would not be that difficult. Last week, they gave me the wrong bagel(I get my bagels to go so I got this nice surprises once I get to work). This week, I got the correct bagel but it wasn’t toasted. On top of that, you really need to see how much cream cheese they put on this thing. I’d have to call it «heavy» cream cheese. It really is a ridiculously large amount. I scraped off enough to cover almost two additional bagels. I get in there pretty early. Definitely before the morning rush. So there’s really no good excuse. For a restaurant that specializes in bagels, these guys are seemed to be challenged to deliver a decent product with good service. They need a good manager in there to run this place and monitor service and quality.
