Awful system for booking appointments. You have to leave a message and wait to be called back. I have never called an office like this. I feel it should be more child oriented and come up with a new system.

Totally agree with above reviews. Never get a live person when you call. IF they call back its many many hours later. Several woman behind front desk, why are they not calling people back? How do you get a same day sick visit? Almost impossible. The wait times are at least 30 min or more if you do get through to get a person. Yes, they should be ashamed of themselves and it is surprising they are allowed to carry the CHOP name. I have NEVER been called back right away. sit around for hours hoping someone will call and wondering if we should just go to ER while my child is sitting there crying. Overall poorly run and hope some poor child doesn’t suffer because of it.

I too thought that this would be a great doc since they have the CHOP name, and also are the preferred doctor for all deliveries at Virtua. Each time I have had an appt I have been disappointed. The waiting rooms are folding chairs and they are always packed. I am pretty sure they double/triple book appts and its like a conveyor belt of patients in there. Everyone is rushed in and out like cattle. When I do call, I get a call back right away, and I can always get an appt the same day which is nice, but I dont think that any of the docs really care about anything other than billing. I have always found the office staff to be nice, its just terrible that of the 10+ docs we cannot seem to find one that cares. Currently trying to switch to another practice.

I have a son with multiple disabilities. From day 1, we have done everything through Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia(CHOP) and their network. I have had amazing experiences with anything associated with CHOP, except for this office. The service here is so below-par, I can’t believe they are allowed to don the CHOP name… When you walk to the front office, occasionally you are greeted with a smile. Most of the time, I feel like I’ve interrupted an important conversation amongst the office staff, and am an inconvenience. I was once told, that, since I was 15 minutes late to an appointment, they would need to reschedule us. It’s pretty ironic, because, when on time or even early, I wait no less than 30 minutes for any appointment. The first pediatrician my son saw here, Dr. Hummel, was often rushed and distracted. The final straw was when he walked out of an appointment with my son to take a personal call. Our new Dr. is part-time, but does take the time to get all of the information necessary to treat my child. I had recently dropped off paperwork for my child’s doctor to fill out. One week went by, I called, it wasn’t ready. One week later I call(don’t EVER hit extension 0, you will almost NEVER get through). The paperwork is ready. I ask, why didn’t someone tell me it was ready? The response?: We don’t call when paperwork is ready. REALLY? So I should call daily? Oh wait, that’s right, nobody ever answers the phone. Leave a message, and wait, wait and hope for a return call. There are no less than 4 women sitting in that office at any given time. Can someone please explain why you can almost NEVER get a live person on the phone? Oh that’s right, they’re too busy with personal conversations to talk to YOU! I can only laugh, it seems like it’s been this way for years, and won’t change anytime soon. I will try the other CHOP Pediatric office near me(Sunset Rd), and hope for the best. Whoever is running that Mt. Laurel office should be ashamed of themselves. If it wasn’t for the(mostly) amazing doctors, there would be NO reason for any parent to take their child to this office.
