Always dead on with fresh made foods. Folks are friendly, food is great, Italian Specialties are always tasty. Great rolls too. The comment from OTTIS B. is not true; maybe it was him, as he said«after paying» he went back. Owners aim to please…

Been coming here since i was a kid and i love it. Sandwiches, Stromboli, meats, bread, all amazing! I love getting a sandwich with mozzarella, tomato, basil and balsamic vinaigrette. Dont even get me started on the potato salad either, definitely the best ive ever had. –1 star because the hours can be inconvenient.

People are rude. They act like they are doing you a favor by just being there. After paying for my sandwich I went to the front counter to buy some pasta to make for diner. It was like I was invisible. The woman behind the counter kept walking back and forth and completely ignored me. Last time I go back there. I can get a sandwich and a smile at WaWa and for a bunch less money.

Today, June 9th I walked into Abruzzi’s craving a pastrami sandwich. They said they don’t have pastrami but they do have corn beef. Ok? I got a hot corn beef sandwich on toasted rye. It was very good, but very small. The menu price was $ 5.75 in store and I double checked online as well. So $ 5.75 +$ 1.09 bag of chips. My total came to $ 8.05? Hauh? I don’t spend money on lunch often so it was kind of a bummer to feel that I get ripped off even a $ 1 something. The guy taking my order didn’t smile too much however most of the itwalian owners of restaurants I go to, with great food, are not very personable so that wasn’t a shock to me but may bother other people.

This place is a hidden gem. I commonly order their antipasto salad and I just devoured it like I was in a competitive eating contest. Yes, I was starving but nevertheless their food is phenomenal. Don’t even get me started on the cannoli’s!

Their baked ziti is excellent! My entire family loved it at Thanksgiving! To make an entire Italian family happy, that says a lot about how great your food is! Thank you! :)

I got the Roast Pork with Provolone and Roasted Red Peppers and it’s fantastic; the only thing I will change next time is adding Broccoli Rabe. For being what appears to be a Mom & Pop place the food is outstanding. Friendly staff along with Authentic Italian products. Another plus is that the order was actually ready when the gentleman on the phone said; which is a huge plus when working on a ½ hour lunch. I will absolutely be going back.

Being from South Philly, it’s nice to have a little taste of home close by. Nice selection of items with decent quality. The people working there are another story. I have never been in this place without getting attitude from someone. Many times it feels like the staff are fighting and just stopped when you walked in. I have NEVER gotten a smile from anyone here. They act like they’re doing YOU a favor. Today I just stopped in to grab a loaf of Italian bread. There were people waiting in line for sandwiches. I grabbed a Stromboli since I was there and waited in line behind the woman being rung up. I was going to ask for Olive Salad too. When she left I put the Stromboli on the counter and the old lady working the counter looked right at me and said, who’s next? I asked if there was a line because everyone seemed to be helped already or wandering around. She ignored me and helped a woman who definitely walked in after me but was standing in front of the case. WHAT?! I have never been to this place without someone acting rudely. I put the Stromboli back and left. That’s the LAST time I go here. After all, nothing in here is all THAT great not anything I can’t get somewhere else. It’s a shame. I updated this review to be three stars. I was p****d off and gave it one. I still won’t go back because I’m not going to reward rudeness.

I am drooling while writing this review. It’s everything you could want in a sandwich — roasted peppers, broccoli rabe, roasted pork, garlic, and great bread. Took coworkers here since I am the«find us lunch» guy. I wanted to show off some good subs to one of my coworkers who only had heard about jersey food. This place rocks, that’s all there is to say. The only thing I found weird was each of us were asked to use cash instead of cc, which I can see because of the charges, but still. Don’t miss this place if you’re in the area and never tried it.

The hoagies are excellent. Not as big as Primos but the rolls and ingredients are as good as they come. Hot roast pork sandwich is great too. Great strombolis especially the prosciutto roasted peppers and cheese.

A friendly market with one of the best Italian hoagies I’ve ever gotten in South Jersey. Anybody who knows about hoagies knows that it’s not just having high-quality meats, but the bread is one of the most important parts of the sandwich and they get it right on both parts. While waiting for my order I was tempted by the selection of side dishes at the counter and ready to heat stromboli. They also have a nice selection of cheeses and other Italian delicacies. I just went in for a sandwich and left with a bag full. It really reminded me of a little slice of South Philly.

After hearing friends talk about this little specialty gourmet shop, I went since its across the street from me. I ordered a few hoagies and sandwiches and then some pastas/sauce. The hoagies were good and the service is great.

love this place their service is excellent they carry just the right amount of products . I like their meatballs their broccoli rabe super… there are sun dried peppers in oil are amazing. hoagies are really really good on excellent bread. homemade strombolis all very good as well as homemade marinara and tomato sauces. they handle Fiorelli sausage from South Philly which has been in business about a hundred twenty years. Tip: since they are located on 38 West I would use either side of Larchmont Boulevard to get there.

On the verge of starvation from not taking a lunch break, I pulled in to grab a lil sumtin from the Dunkin Donuts that is in the same building as A&G. I smelled garlic in the parking lot and knew I had to get a sandwich from this Italian market rather than a snack from their neighbor. It’s a quaint deli with all the usual suspects in the way of sandwiches, which, by the way, are made on Caccia’s bread. I ordered a hot roast beef with roasted red peppers. While they made that, I walked around. Plenty of pastas from which to choose to make at home along with different sauces, vinegars and packaged Italian sweets. There is also prepared trays of different things like lasagna and baked ziti that you can grab to heat up at home. The sandwich was good and I’d get it again even though it was a tad too salty. It was plentiful in terms of portion. The red peppers were pretty close to perfect and full of flavor. The service was friendly and they got me out of there quickly.

I have not been to the main deli for a couple of years, the prices for hoagies was getting expensive. This review is going to be about the Guinta’s Pizza in Lumberton and the Abbruzzi&Giunta’s café in the office building I work in. When i first learned that a pizza place owned by Guinta’s was opening I was excited, remembering all the fine foods i’ve had from the original location. Huge disappointment, pizza was bland, cheesesteak meat was overcooked and the two gentlemen working there had the personality of an avocado. Have not been back there since. On to the café, been working in this building about a month and on my second day I tried the angus steak and cheese soup…5 of us in the office got sick, 3 people were out for a couple of days. I toughed it out but spent more time running to the bathroom then at my desk. I did have an italian hoagie which reminded me of the old days going to the deli but for 5 bucks it was a small hoagie, can get bigger and better at Subway. The café is supposed to open at 730 but the owners daughter(who should really change tanning salons because she is tinted orange) usually shows up 15 – 20 minutes late and of course closes before the scheduled 130. Really wish they would get back to the days where thier reputation was solid and not being dragged down by the 2 locations outside the main deli.

It was a bit of a shock when I pulled into the lot and saw the gleaming, yet sterile new building that Abbruzzi’s now occupied. Half occupied, that is. What was once this ranch style deli, is now one part of a semi-detached business with a Dunkin’ Donut. Think Martin’s Liquors and DD just down the block Think of those ubiquitous Pizza Huts/Taco Bells. Usually, I think of those unholy unions as pairings in mediocrity. or convenience. This was clearly one of convenience. I’ve been going to Abbruzzi’s for many years since it took over the space from another mom-pop deli, Godfrey’s in the early 90s. Abbruzzi’s had a distinctly Italian leaning and made wonderful Italian hoagies with good imported and tasty cold cuts and nice sharp cheeses. But it was always their bread that put their sandwiches over the top: aromatic with a delicate crust and soft chewy dough inside. As cholesterol became more of an issue for me, I switched to the chicken salad hoagie: a brimming heavy weight torpedo with marvelously tender chucks of breast meat. More often, though, I sampled their luncheon platters when they catered office meetings. Their strombolis were decent(I still prefer Stuff Yer Face’s ‘bolis) although I appreciate the thin crust and flavorful cheeses. And their stuffed shells, as good comfort food should, were a food coma waiting to happen, sparked by a nice rich homemade sauce. But what my co-workers and I always vied for was a slice of their wonderful coconut cream pie, firm and richly decadent. And so, today was the first time in a while that I went to their deli and beheld their renovation and soul selling to the DD empire. Deciding to be good, I got their Hot Veggie on a roll. The roll was as good as I remembered. I was told that it came from Cacia’s Bakery, that old South Philly institution. The veggies: sauteed spinach, red peppers, mushrooms and onions were fresh, and tasty, but overcooked and bit too salty. Will stick to the chicken salad next time.
