The Crest At Elm Tree

The Crest is a premier apartment community in Lancaster region! My wife and I lived in the spacious one-​bedroom apartment. Modern appliances, personal washer/​dryer, and new carpets were a big plus and differential when looking at other apartment complexes in the area. The big windows, high ceiling, and open concept were among the most appealing characteristics.
The facilities beyond the apartment itself were top notch. The walking/​jogging path around the complex, outdoor pool, fitness center, business center, and clubhouse were always well-​maintained and better than other apartments we viewed before committing to the Crest.
Above all, the customer service was excellent all the way around. The staff (front office, maintenance, etc) were always friendly and responsive.

I loved living at the Crest! I was at my apt for one year. I moved out to move into a house. If I ever needed an apt again, I would immediately look at what’s available at the Crest. I did a lot of searching before putting my deposit in at the Creat — it was the best I found (by far).
The setting is lovely. I found it very tranquil/​relaxing. The grounds are well-​maintained. There is a pool (salt water I think), gym area, etc. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They do little extras like checking on pets. I had several minor maintenance requests, and they were always taken care of quickly. The apt itself was in excellent condition. I didn’t like the handles on the kitchen cabinets but all the other finishings were tasteful. I had tons of closet space! It was very quiet overnight and my neighbors were nice and polite.
The area is also very convenient with easy access to major roads. There are two groceries stores/​gas stations close by, Isaacs deli/​other food places, plus lots of shops in Mt. Joy.
They will charge you for carpet cleaning when you move out (but you know ahead of time — it’s in the lease), plus a deoderizing fee if you have pets (also in the lease). Other than that, I got my entire security deposit back. Everything was up front and fair.

I moved into the Crest at Elm Tree about 4 months ago and I absolutely love it here. I live in The Chestnut floor plan (1 bedroom). Everything is so gorgeous in the apartment– all brand new, very clean. I love the high ceilings, all the space, the huge closets and the porch! There are closets galore, it’s any woman’s dream. Also, I love my kitchen and bathroom– they are both so spacious!
The community is very nice and quiet and the grounds are always well kept. There is a path that encircles the community and i love to use it for jogging or walks– many people walk their dogs on it. The pool is so nice, very big and there are always plenty of lounge chairs and seating for relaxing on sunny days. I have used the business center a few times (before I set up my internet and whenever I need to print stuff) and it is very convenient– it has two computers and a printer. The gym is also very nice, especially since you can go 24 hours a day. They have some nice free weights, treadmills and ellipticals, etc and they provide fresh towels and sanitizing wipes, which is great. The welcome center also has free coffee and cookies during the day– which is a plus! The staff is always super helpful and very friendly. Also, anytime I’ve had to contact maintenance they have responded the same day (even once when i broke the ice machine). They also are very good about letting you know in advance if somebody is coming into your apartment (to change the filters or something) or even if they are going to be doing something outside (like power washing the building, etc).
I really lucked out with liking the apartment so much because I really chose it for the location. It is located right off of 283 so it is easy to hop on 283 east and get to Lancaster, or hop on 283 west and get to Elizabethtown and then up to Hershey. The actual town of Mount Joy has been fun to explore with lots of fun little pubs and restaurants (although I still need to explore more places). The Crest itself is located right near a Darrenkamps and a Giant, a few gas stations, a bunch of food places (including Isaacs, BK, Sonic, Dunkin Donuts, Subway, Ritas and then a few pizza places) and a great little country store. In the actual community there is always parking near your apartment for guests and you have your own parking space if you don’t have a unit with a garage. I almost forgot– the Crest also has a place to wash and vacuum your car, a great playground, a mini putting green and a gazebo with charcoal grills.
All in all I HIGHLY recommend living here. It really still feels like I’m staying at a really nice condo on vacation– everything is so nice. I’ve lived in a luxury apartment in Baltimore before and it was nice, but not this nice, and the staff was nowhere near as friendly/​helpful. Final tip– when I was deciding where to live I came and took a tour of the model unit and it was very helpful. Even though there are a variety of styles and sizes of floor plans, the décor is all the same so you can get an idea of the quality and atmosphere from the tour.
