Scott’s Maze Adventures

We had fun here. We came toward the end of the season, so the corn wasn’t as high as I’d have expected. We were able to see other groups of people across the field. We got through the maze in about 40 minutes.
They also have smaller mazes and a few other things to do. There’s also a produce market. Unfortunately none of the produce we got (watermelon, tomatoes, oranges) was worth buying.
Not sure if we’d come back, but I’d recommend that you check it out at least once.

This is a annual tradition for our family. Over the years the crowds have grown and grown, which is starting to lessen the fun. Still, it’s a great place to take the kids and let them burn off some energy. Be prepared to be tired and filthy by the end of the day. Some tips: wear closed toes shoes, your own water and bring wipes!
To do: two nicely grown and kept corn mazes. There is a smaller one for those not wanting the long version. In the small maze you find stations with colored chalk which you mark with one finger on your hand. By the end each finger is a different color and when you leave you find your fortune based on the order of the colors. The large maze can potentially take HOURS. We have yet to complete it, but our kids are little. They also have a basic rock maze and in the very back some other, lesser kept mazes. Last year the maze in the back (they are some kind of large bush) had tons of giant spider webs throughout. We now call it the «spider maze» so be warned!
There are some very basic play sets, although unfortunately no swings for toddlers/​babies. Much of the equipment doesn’t have rails so you have to shadow little ones closely. They have some tires stacked in sand, a bounce pillow, zip line, wind tunnel, misty maze, 2 story tunnel slide and lots of photo opps. For an additional fee you can take a hayride or fish. Neither of these, in my opinion, are worth the upcharge.
We went late in the season this year (mid-​November) and the corn was almost completely out of season. What they did have was not fresh. Big bummer as that’s the main draw. They do have lots of friendly staff and a small country market.
Do not pay full price– they always offer Living Social deals for half off. Act quickly though, they’ll sell out. Get there right when they open for shortest line. Sundays hours are very limited (only 1−5pm) so Saturday gives you more bang for your buck. If the weather sucks you’ll be miserable. I’d rather be there in the cold than the heat though as there is little shelter and walking the maze is HOT. No flushing toilets (port o pots only), so go before you leave home and hold it.

Was really excited because of all the reviews. Very disappointed by the LONG line. Spent $ 40 after an hour wait (Came an hour after opening) for 3 people (maze and hay ride). Waited another hour for food (so now it is 3:12 and they close the maze at 4:15). We loose another 20 minutes waiting for the hay ride and then about 15 minutes on the ride then loose another 15 minutes waiting for and watching the safety video. So by the time we start actually going we only have 1 hour to do everything! I highly recommend buying tickets in advance but if you don’t have a way to print them make sure you you do it 6 hours in advance or they won’t have them. Very disappointing.

Our son loved leading us through the maze and the other activities they had for children especially the kids zip line. He had so much fun he talked about it all night.
Our favorite part was Santa he took time to talk to our son about his favorite movie, star wars, and about the love of Christmas. The time he took talking to him was very special and much appreciated. I would make a trip out there again just for Santa.

What a fantastic time we had recently on our first trip here. We had 2 Living Social Deals close to expiring so we made plans to check this maze out.
A lot of businesses need to take a cue from places like this. They were SO organized and ran like a well oiled machine! From the guy greeting people as they pulled up to park to the one ushering folks into the area to watch the mandatory video of the rules of the maze.
Thankfully we got here right around opening time so there was no line whatsoever. We got our wristbands and pencil and game booklet, watched the video then we were on our way through the maze.
The maze itself wasn’t overly complicated but still challenging and since it was closer to the end of the season, the husks were broken off and dry so we could easily see ahead of time. Some stalks were as tall as me (I’m short)!
My husband really got into the word search and finding clues so I let him have at it. The theme of the word searches was Second Harvest Food Bank which was cool since it helped educate those who may not know about their services and what they do.
There are some guys that are up on a high fixture overlooking the maze so you are never far from help if you do get lost. Plus they sell bottles of water if you suddenly get parched.
Overall, we had an excellent time and this just made us enjoy Florida even more when there are gems such as this locale in our own backyard.
Here are some tips:
1) Wear sneakers. No sense wearing any kind of heel. You will be walking constantly and need good support and comfort.
2) Wear sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses. That sun is brutal.
3)Try to visit the maze at the beginning of the season when the stalks are taller and green. The maze runs until Dec 15^th.
4) There are only portapotties so bring antibacterial gel.
5)Bring cash as some of the food and drink vendors don’t take cards.
6)Take some great photos from the several towers on property.
7)Take the time to check out the small market for produce and goodies like Apple butter and several types of dressing, to name a few.
8) Very kid friendly. There is a huge play area and then some!

Florida is a wonderful place, but we are seriously lacking Autumn. I try to explain this season to my kids, but they just don’t get it. So, in an effort to expose them to fall, we ventured out to Scott’s Maze Adventure.
What is amazing about this whole place is you really get the sense that people made everything here. They built everything. Maybe you could buy it on Amazon, but they didn’t. It’s pretty remarkable.
When you first enter you are corralled into a barn for a short video that goes over the maze rules. It’s short and useful. From there you enter an area with play equipment for the kids and a fishing pond.
Beyond that is the corn maze itself, which from the air looks like a complicated design, but from the ground looks like a corn field. Our group found the closest entrance to the maze and took off. The maze is supposed to take over an hour to complete. Somehow we found our way out in 20 minutes. The problem there is that there are multiple entrances and exits, and we really only walked through about a quarter of the maze before finding an exit. I kind of wanted to go back in and try to make it across the maze, but I was overruled.
Next we ventured into the tree maze. Unlike the corn maze, which is replanted every year, this is a permanent maze of bushy trees. This is where spiders enter my story. The kids dash ahead into the maze and then I start hearing blood-​curdling screams. Oh dear. Turns out spiders LOVE the tree maze. And they love to spin webs between 5 – 6 feet above the ground between the trees. I have never seen so many spiders in my life. Seriously. (They were the kind-​of-​cute crab-​shelled spiders that come in pretty colors, so less menacing than, say, any other spiders.)
The spider maze turned out to be the most fun we had all day. We were the only people in there (and judging by the number of webs not many had been through before us that day). We had fun dodging the webs and all the shrieking kept the kids excited. It was a blast.
So, I would go back for the spider maze. And I would love to try the corn maze again. Maybe with a map and a goal to go all the way across the field.

I bought three tickets for the corn maze on Living Social for $ 5 so that we could check it out (a savings of $ 6 per ticket). We went on a Sunday and it was packed! The maze opened at 1 pm and when I arrived at 1:05 pm the line to get tickets was REALLY long. Thankfully there was a separate line for folks that had purchased their tickets online, so I only had to wait a couple of minutes. For anyone going I would suggest purchasing your tickets online to avoid the long lines.
We enjoyed doing the maze and going down the Super slide! The maze was set up different colored «sections» so that you knew where you were headed. It wasn’t a super huge maze, but it was a lot of fun. We had lunch at the café there beforehand and it was pretty tasty. The sandwiches included fresh veggies from the farm and you could even get corn as a side. I had quite the corn filled lunch.
I felt it was money well spent and it would be a great place for families to spend the afternoon. Its a fun «fall» activity here in Orlando where we don’t have a lot of fall things to do.
Make sure to wear sneakers or other closed shoes as the path through the maze is all dirty. Also, bring sunglasses! There is no shade out in the maze or at the activities surrounding it.

This place is totally worth the $ 5.00 groupon I purchased. I went with a couple of friends and we took a three year old with us. Everyone had a blast. Lots of kids running around enjoying the corn mazes and additional activities that are offered for kids. It’s really a great way to spend quality time with family in the middle of the country.

Not impressed by any means. We’ve enjoyed other corn mazes across this country including several years at the Guinness record holder, Cool Patch Pumpkins in Dixon, CA with their maze of 52 acres. Now living back in Central FL we wanted to try out a corn maze here and after this visit hope we can find something better for next year.
Thought tickets were expensive for the little bit they offer. Everyone was very nice and it was cool to see all the teens involved in running the place and having a good time with it and why I gave two stars instead of one. After purchasing our wrist bands we were then corralled and lead to a barn for a forced rules briefing… really??? Never had that at any other location across the U.S. and it truly was wasted time having to wait our turn to hear their rules and the silly briefing. When you go to enter the corn maze they insist you carry a flag with you in case you get lost. Again, really?!? I can see the entire little bitty maze, everyone in it, and everything in the area as the corn is so low and everything is marked out any ways. You enter and the paths are outlined by tape on both sides of you. Come on, another thing we’ve never seen before at any maze. If you have some kids less than ten this might be interesting but otherwise it’s lame! I was surprised how many gave this place such a high rating for if they were to ever try a ‘real’ corn maze that is truly challenging they’d see how this is like those cheap carnivals that visits small towns once a year charging for everything. (If they say lack of rain kept the corn low, for what they charge fry watering it, it’s just the size of my Grandmother’s garden. The mid-​west got less rain and they watered it for some awesome mazes this year that don’t charge near this.)
So the pros — friendly folks.
Cons — cost, size, and time spent on silly things like the crazy briefing.
Recommendation — Search out something better, sure there are some nice ones close by like what we’ve enjoyed elsewhere across the U.S. We’ll be searching them out for next year.

It’s a good place to spend the day. The mazez are great but you’ll have to endure the safety brief before entering the maze area. The kids loved the mini-​maze and the finger color idea. The fishing wasn’t that good. Kids did not catch anything. I think the hooks were too big for the type of fish in the pond. The zucchini bread sold out quick so get that before you start the maze. The coffee cake ice is not good at all. Tasted a bit stale and dry. Do get the corn cake with honey tho! It was worth the Groupon deal but not sure if we would visit again.
