PotStop at Little Baja

Well, what can I say. A lot of selection but a sales rep just would not let us browse at all without being a bit too pushy. Just tagged us the whole time to a point we just had to leave and purchase elsewhere.

The amount of garden pottery available here is a little overwhelming. In a good way. If you need something pottery-​wise for your garden and can’t find it here, it might not exist.
They also have an alarming amount of Talavera pottery. I’m honestly not pottery-​savvy enough to know what the big deal is with Talavera, but I will say that I love Mexican pottery in general and walked out with some for my own yard when I visited Potstop.
Staff was nice and available, but not annoying/​hounding us while we wandered through the stacks of pots. Only complaint is that they seem a little bit on the pricey side – not crazy, but you can probably find a cheaper pot at Home Depot. You just won’t find it in 30 different colors/​shapes/​sizes/​decorations at Home Depot, and you will at Potstop.

LARGE selection of pricey pottery and garden statues and accents. There are some nice plant containers here, but you really have to dig for the ones that are a good deal. Many are mass produced, but are priced high for tourists like us driving to Monterey down Hwy 1.
I did however, find an ADORABLE statue that I was so happy to bring home with me. Seatbelted in, we brought Mr. Hippo back home with us. Along with that, found a good deal on some candle holders, but wouldn’t have expected to find them at a garden store.
Fun to poke around and shop, but overall pricing is a bit steep for what you’re buying.

Saw this place on the way back from Carmel and thought it’d be an interesting stop. There were a whole lot of pottery, fountains and ceramic trinkets. The prices were really high, like $ 49 for a small pot. It’s a bit incomprehensible since the wares were clearly mass-​produced and the location didn’t merit that type of upscale pricing. We were also followed by the owners who were eager to make a sale, which made us want to get out of there.

if you buy a fountain… tell him you don’t want it and get a nice new powerful pump at Home Depot for the same price!!!

Ran into this pottery while meandering in Moss Landing during a weekend. After watching the seals nearby, we decided to check this place out for some planters and home décor. They have an expansive collection of cute pots, outdoor wall décor, statues, etc. The people are very very friendly. While we were walking, our eyes fell on Buddha statue and we were pondering over whether we should buy it or not and the means of transporting the heavy stone statue. The people who work here, answered all our questions, doled out some cool garden décor ideas and showed other similar statues around.
Ultimately we didn’t end up making a purchase because we wanted to do some research before buying an expensive piece, but do plan to take a trip to Moss Landing if we decide to make a purchase.

I thought the prices were very high compared to many other stores. However it has a huge selection so maybe you can snag a hard to find or unique piece. As for me, taking my dollars to a better bargain.

Seas and seas of beautiful pottery, PotStop at Little Baja is immediately noticeable as you are drving along Highway 1 in the Moss Landing Area. There is a nearby lot, which is mainly filled with folks using the nearby boat launch area, but if you take a lap, you’ll find a spot.
We spent nearly an hour browsing the rows and rows of outdoor pottery, statues and small garden decorative items.
I’m not sure how prices compared on my visit to other Unilocalers visits, but I found their prices on pottery and garden décor to be reasonable and well priced. My best find of the day were several chunks or large glass «slag» in beautiful sapphire blue and emerald green that I use for decoration. I walked out of there spending about $ 94 but walked out with two large pieces of decorative glass, two flower pots and a glass garden owl decoration (picture attached.) All in all for the uniqueness of their wares, the super friendly customer service and the wide variety of selections, I would consider this a must-​stop if you’re in Monterey County and love to decorate your outdoor space. If nothing else, it’s simply fun to look around.
Finally, the staff was amazing-​they were spread out through the vast yard and were readily available for questions or suggestions. They carried my selected pieces and held them at the register and also offered up a 20% off discount based on the amount of items I planned on purchasing. Once my wallet recovers, I am definitely looking at another stop here during the summer months. Really amazing garden décor shop!

I gotta hand it to them, they have a MASSIVE selection of Talavera pottery and loads of pots! It took me almost an hour and I half to look through the whole place since I was searching for something cool for my kitchen. My Dad was teasing me about buying something Talavera from there considering I’m now residing in Albuquerque, NM… but I can honestly say that the Pot Stop has the most selection I’ve ever seen in one place. The staff members are super friendly while giving you your space to look around.
My only real gripe would be the prices. As another reviewer mentioned, the prices on some things are astronomical. I don’t understand how a small Talavera wall gecko is the same price as a very large bull skull… I’m talking about $ 100! Or a little sun & moon is the same price as a semi large wall bird. It’s basically the same price across the board regardless of the size and paint design. All in all, I got a very good price on the bull skull which I ended taking to Albuquerque. I’ve yet to find another like it out here, but I’ve found some that are drastically smaller and asking for a lot more money.
I’ll be invading the Pot Stop again the next time I’m in the area to visit family :) Prices aside, you find some really cool stuff there.

Great selection of everything you could ever think to use to decorate your garden or yard. Prices seem a bit high, though.

Ok seriously, the quality was good, beautiful work, but holy God in Heaven who is pricing this stuff??? Chris tells me some of the things i liked wholesales for a fifth of what is being charged here, so i bought nothing.

Get it together Pot Shop.

The Pot Stop has a huge selection of pots, but they also carry other things like statues, fountains, stone benches, ceramic decorative tile, welded metal artwork, and etc. They also carry pots that range from the small to very large in a variety of colors and shapes.
We stumbled upon this place while visiting the Monterey Bay Kayak Store in Moss Landing. If you are in the market for decorative items around your house or yard, you might want to check out this place. My fiancé and I will be back.

This place is planter heaven. HUGE selection and Great deals. I bought 4 pots for less than what I would pay for 1 anywhere else.

The names makes you giggle «Pot Stop» but it is literally a place that has pot upon pot in every crevice you can imagine. If you like what you see in Sunset Magazine etc. where they have all those cute pots in gardens of every size this is your playground! From small to something you could fit a small family in this has every size you could want. A small drive down the 1 south this place is conveniently located in a one stop shop area for good food, decent coffee, perhaps a kayak ride and then get some killer garden décor here. Although I need to wait until I get a bigger place I always love coming here and taking a look.

Little Baja Pot Stop is owned by the same people that own Pottery Planet in Santa Cruz (see my review). Everything that is great about Pottery Planet is also great about Little Baja Pot Stop, although the Pot Stop has a bigger selection and also features some HUGE pots that could probably be legally classified as swimming pools.
The only downsides are that it’s a bit of a drive and kind of in the middle of nowhere (no offense to Moss Landing natives) and it’s right next to Highway 1, so there is some traffic noise as you browse.
Just like with Pottery Planet, once you see these beautiful pots, everything else you see at other places will be boring or ugly by comparison.

They have a great selection of large and small planters, and everything you want to go with it. I found the perfectly sized planter I was looking for here. Prices are pretty reasonable, also, based on my comparison shopping.
Yeah, I still have not quite finished this project yet, as the planter is stilling empty in the living room. But it looks really good there, I think.
The drive there is nice too, you can stop at Santa Cruz on the way for, um, whatever you want to do in Santa Cruz.
