Moss Landing Marine Laboratories

We went to the open house today, which was free. We took our son, who is four years old. They really did a great job. The facilities are very modern. If you wanted to work as a marine biologist, I have to imagine this is where you would want to end up. They put a lot of effort into their open house. Nearly every room was full of great displays about ocean animals. There was a BBQ, and our son especially enjoyed the touch tank. He was so excited to see all the ocean animals and displays. This is the kind of place that can excite children and give them direction if this is what excites them. There was staff all over eager to help and answer questions. The place was swarming with people. One display that was interesting to me was of a sea turtle they had a video camera on and were monitoring. There was too much going on to adequately describe. We’ll be back at next year’s open house. Thank you to everyone who made this possible.
