Established in 1984.

I started as a coin collector in Kansas City. I started working at a coin shop when I was 12 and have bought and sold coins professionally since 1980. I opened the store in Morton Grove in 2007 and continue to do several coin shows a month. We specialize in Bullion, Gold Jewelry, Rare Coins, Diamonds and some specific antiques.

We are a family owned business. All of our employees are collectors as well as dealers. We are market makers and buyers for many coins. Each one of our staff specializes in a different aspect of our hobby. We have become the largest full service coin dealer in the area. We stock Coins, supplies, books, jewelry, Lladro, Lalique, Gold, Silver, Platinum, Palladium, investment quality coins as well as collector quality coins. We are always looking to buy and to grow our business.

I am a 3 palm Eagle Scout.

Supporter and collector center for local soup kitchen A Just Harvest. Past council and regional BBYO Presidents for KC council and Central States Regions. Attended several high adventure and survival training camps.

Moved to Chicago area in 1992 and started doing local coin shows each month in 1993.

Combined staff experience is over 120 years in collecting and dealing trading.

After cleaning out my parents safety deposit box, I found several old coins that I had no idea what, if anything they were worth. A trip to Morton Grove Coins etc. was worth more than figuring out their worth on line. Knowledgeable staff and very likable. Also took in several gold earrings whose mates never tuned up and to my surprise were worth a good deal. Again David, the owner, was professional and fun to work with. I believe this store is completely trustworthy. Recommend without hesitation.

Prices and selection are ok, but his use of foul language when I was trying to sell some Gold really didn’t sit well with me. I brought him a 1oz Engelhard Gold Bar, he made me an ok offer but seemed really annoyed and condescendin when explaining his offer. When I asked about the fact that it was an Engelhard bar he told me «Engelhard don’t mean sh*t.» Ok, Dave, but why do you have to be so rude about it?

I have been buying coins for just over a year now. My wife and I found Morton Grove coins & collectibles maybe around October last year. Dave has always been very helpful and very knowledgeable. He also has a fresh new selection of bullion and has assisted us when we we had questions (and we’ve had plenty). Highly recommended for newbies. Best customer service of all the shops my wife and I have been to.

I was very impressed with the way I was treated. They took the time to explain and educate me on the appraisal process of the coins I brought in. And even gave me their personal opinion as to what they felt was in my best interest to do. You cannot ask for anything more. I would definitely recommend this business to either sell or to buy.

I’ve been here a few times to purchase foreign currency that I use in my JA classes in schools. They’ve always been enthusiastic and helpful. They seem to have quite a large selection here as well.
I do tend to use another area coin store for certain transactions as I really respect the owners knowledge there. But I’m tempted to give this shop some of my biz as well — they seem to have their act together!

Great great shop. I sell buy and sell silver and these guys pay the most for scrap and I have even sold them a Tiffany Bowl and they paid me over spot value and more than anyone else offered me!
They weigh your matels right in front of you, tell you the spot price and calculate your total $$ and pay you cash, all in about 5 minutes.
