Battle City Airsoft Arena

TLDR Version: Great field. Refs weren’t doing their jobs. I wouldn’t let my kids play because the atmosphere isn’t safe. Not coming back.
Pros:
Field: The field is very nice. This location offers a unique experience due it the previous business at the location, a furniture store. This field has a mix of everything. There are tight rooms with well placed windows and doors mixed with a couple of long runs and hallways. Also one side is very low light. I never felt like the walls were in an odd position or unusable for cover. There are very few «funnel» areas for trapping.
Field Sound: The volume of the music is low. I could hear people call their hits, talk to my own team and even hear the other team to know what they were going to do.
Cons:
Refs: During our games the refs were either playing or on their phones. The guy giving the briefing was almost unintelligible. During one of the briefings another ref in the room took over to finish the briefing after multiple players could not understand what he was saying.
Rule Enforcement: I’ve been playing paintball/​airsoft since 1997 and this is the first time I didn’t feel safe at a location. This is a no barrel sock needed field. You don’t need to have a barrel sock in public areas like the waiting or briefing area rooms. Multiple times during the day someone would pull the trigger of their AEG and they would shoot a pellet onto the floor. A couple of people were repeat offenders. At one point a ref had to tell someone to keep his finger off the trigger and it was his third warning. THIRD WARNING?!?
There is not a clear goggles on/​goggles off point, at least as far as the refs and players are concerned. Even though the briefing room door is noted as goggles on few people would wear them. As soon as the game is over people on the field are removing their masks.
People using full auto in a semi only game is always a problem. It was reported to the ref, who at the time was playing so it was a lot of fun finding him. He witnessed the player and sent him to respawn. The ref started sending a lot of people to respawn for the same violation. He even found people violating the rule multiple times and commented on such.
Game Types: There are no pull flags for domination. There were a couple of interesting games that we played. A person selected his own team vs everyone else. ~40 players vs 9? It was too chaotic to be fun. Another game was started as FFA and then changed to squad game? We weren’t clear on the rules because we didn’t understand the ref.
Field Sound: The beginning and end game sounds were very low. If you were currently in a firefight you would not know the game was over until a break in the action. This added to the tendency of people to remove their masks could be a recipe for disaster.
Play Timing: I’m not sure if they were short on refs but they had a long lag between games. When there was a private party they would not enter the briefing room until our game was over for 5 minutes, then the briefing, and private group game. Ideally the private group should have been in the briefing room prior to the public group exiting the field. This delay added probably 15 minutes of downtime between rounds. SAS is a good example of how it should go: As soon as one group is off the field the next group is almost done with briefing ready to play.

As a first timer, I would never go here. The ref shows favoritism to the pro players. The website does not give enough information regarding protective gear. The website only recommends long sleeves. So when the pro players are shooting their guns (which the ref never tested), the beads were breaking skin because the power on their guns was too high. Getting hit from a 3-​round burst or auto from a pro player’s gun versus getting hit from the rental gun is very different. It was supposed to be fun, but the ‘game’ gets real when you are being attacked and feeling real pain. It’s real life call of duty if you are into that kind of thing. I’m never going back to this location.

I Go to this arena every week and its amazing the arena is just so fun to play in and the prices are a good deal i have been playing airsoft for a long time and i will tell u this is one of the best arenas out there

Very well put together for some solid cqb play. Tight corners but not unmanageable. Refs are on top of the game play and they definitely keep it interesting with game choice. Stopped by here for the first time Saturday (they’re open till 11 on Saturdays which is a HUGE plus) night and as the crowd boiled down the ref joined in. He was very skilled and it made for some good tactical play.
Would be five stars if they allowed fully automatic but I understand their reasons not to and most spot are a bit small for automatic fire anyway
Paid about $ 21 for unlimited play which is pretty good across the board for an indoor arena. Tons of prep tables and space to get your gear and load out together.
Ambient noise in the background is nice also wouldn’t suggest mesh goggles here. It’s a bit small so huge risk for injury and also it’s a bit too dark for them too.
Overall solid spot. You’ll enjoy yourself both recreational player and more serious players
