Spa By The Bay

My boyfriend and I just had our first massage here and it was a wonderful experience. We both feel amazing and relaxed! We were treated so well, and we are already planning to return. I have issues with my back that I expressed before our massage and it was never a problem throughout the massage — great job ladies! Thank you!

My husband and I had a 75 minute couples massage with Mickey and Marsha yesterday and it was absolutely wonderful! Mickey gave me a deep tissue massage and I walked out of the spa feeling like a new person no longer in pain. My husband had a Swedish massage from Marsha and he too felt rejuvenated. We will definitely be repeat customers.

We drove down from Hanford, and when we arrived we were greeted by two wonderful ladies that gave us the BEST MASSAGE EVER! Comfortable, very clean, great experience. I have never been so relaxed in my life. I especially loved the hot stones. Absolutely fabulous! ‘Nuff said! Natalie and Marcia are the best! We will be going back for sure!

Mickey is by far the best massage you will ever get! I’m not from the area but every time I come to town I try and book with her. The spa is small, cute, and very clean. You will not regret it — she is the best!

I was going to Morro Bay for the weekend and wanted to treat myself. I’ll be honest — this was the first place that called me back. So, I went.
I had a massage with Shawna (sp?), and I was very pleased. I’ve had many many massages in my life, and Shawna was one of the better ones I’ve ever had. Good pressure, responsive to what my muscles were like (as opposed to just following a set pattern by rote), and friendly but not too much talking.
Offered a small bottle of water afterward.
The lady running the front of house (manager? Receptionist?) was courteous and professional, and it was overall a pleasant place to be, and a high quality massage.

This was the first time trying this day spa. Found it on Unilocal.Went to have a couples massage and we called last minute (the day before). Mickey, the owner earned 5 stars before we even went there by rearranging her schedule to accommodate us on short notice! Once we got there, Shawna and Mickey were our therapists and they were wonderful! We did a 90 min massage. They surprised both of us by using hot rocks! Their prices aren’t out this world and worth every penny! We have several spas here in SLO, but will drive to Morro Bay again for this treatment!

I wish I had 10 stars to give spa by the bay. Absolutely amazing!!! Mickey and Monet did a wonderful job doing a couples massage, the environment was cozy and inviting. Thank you both for the awesome massage.

I have to say scheduling a massage last minute was relatively easy here. The owner (nicky?) was very helpful. The parking was easy and simple and the spa itself was small yet cozy. I had Malaysia for a 1.5 hr massage. She asked if I had anything to share about my present state? I let her know I recently injured my right shoulder, but it seemed she didn’t hear me or maybe she was just preoccupied. The massage was fair at best although I think she gave it her best. She uses her arms mostly, which felt pretty good on my back. However, for some reason she spent about 15 – 20 minutes on my calves and provided a few strokes on my hamstrings. She did shake my glutes around a bit over the blanket after finishing my calves and then only spent about 5 minutes on my neck and shoulders (3 strokes each). She was pretty rough grabbing my shoulder until I reminded her that I needed just some easy soft glides. I’m sure her style works for some. Just wanted someone who could offer over all body work using long firm gliding, kneading techniques… Swedish with some passive joint release. Bummer. :-(

My BFF and I love coming here when we are in town (we are from Fresno) and they are always accommodating to our schedule! Nice atmosphere and EXCELLENT massage! Looking forward to our visit this weekend!

Booked a couples massage last minute and Mickey was so kind enough to get us in. The girls were awesome! It truly was one of the best massages we have had. I highly recommend for anyone stopping by at Morro Bay.

Another wonderful massage experience at Spa by the Bay! Natalie gave me the most relaxing prenatal massage. She is sweet, professional, and an excellent massage therapist. Highly recommend!

My wife and I booked a couples massage here while on vacation. This place is small, but has a wonderful atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and and fun to talk to. We went in the room, and had one amazing hour of relaxation. They really know what they are doing here. They worked us both from head to foot, and I feel so much better than I have in a Kong time. I even had recently developed a pain in my heel very recently, which was completely gone after our session.
One great aspect, besides how great it was, was the price. This place is very affordable for what you get. If you are feeling stressed out, tired, and are too tight, come here and they will take all of that away.

Great massage place in Morro Bay. Mickey is well-​rounded and great at trying to address your problem areas. I have been to many different massage parlors and this may be my new favorite. I will be back and would definitely recommend this place for anyone who hasn’t had a good massage recently.
I have chronic scoliosis and other injuries, and let me tell you massages are just as important as chiropractics if not more. I will never go more than 4 or 5 months without a massage ever again (waited a year and my body is a mess) and I’m glad I found this place! Already feeling better! I think it’s appointment only since it’s small, and they do couples massages as well. ⁵⁄₅

Ten minutes into my massage with Mickey I already started composing my Unilocal review in my head. It impressed me that much in that short amount of time. I frequently get massages and have tried a lot of places, everywhere from traveling masseuses, little hole in the wall places, and foofy fancy resorts. Pretty much every massage I’ve ever had has totally sucked in comparison to my experience at Spa By the Bay.
I usually skip full body massages and ask the therapist just to work on my back, hips and glutes because those are my problem areas (I have thoracic outlet syndrome, Scheuermann’s disease, piriformis syndrome, sacroiliac joint dysfunction, rotator cuff tendonitis and arthritis. I’m also a weight lifter and do BodyCombat three times a week. Yeah, and YOU thought you had a bad back!). And, I feel that with full body it ends up being that the therapist halfheartedly rubs oil over your arms and legs simply to eat up time. But when I go to someone for the first time I usually just let them do their thing so I can see what their technique is like. I’m pretty sure that Mickey has sold me back into full body. Every little muscle was given individual, detailed attention. She also incorporated stretching and hot stones which amplified the effect. Any other place I have gone to has charged an extra $ 10+ to add hot stone. Here, it was included.
When it came time for her to work on the disaster that is my back, I wanted to die. Of amazing happiness. I like a lot of deep work and she got up on the table and got her elbows into it. She made sure to pay attention to the troublesome areas I mentioned and it felt like those golf ball sized knots nestled by my vertebrae were gently annihilated.
Another thing worth mentioning, that many other Unilocalers have added: I got in here with very little notice on Memorial Day. My back had been killing me and I knew trying to get someone on a holiday would be a long shot. She got me in, no problem.
The spa is very clean with a relaxing ambiance. The parking is plentiful. They also use doTerra essential oils, which is like the Rolls Royce of essential oils. And, the price was a steal! I’ve paid twice as much for massages that weren’t 10% as good. Also, the table was very comfortable. I’m plus sized and every other place I’ve gone to has a little skinny stick figure table and I have to try really hard to keep my arms from rolling off the table. Doing so doesn’t let you fully relax. Here I could sprawl out and all my limbs were fully supported.
I’m totally coming back here. Not wasting my time with any other place. I’d give it a million stars if I could.

Amazing 90 minute couple’s massage over President’s Day Weekend. We both were in the same room, with dim lighting and relaxing music. I rarely fall asleep during massages, but this one really relaxed me to the point of Zzz’s. This will be our go to spot next time we are in Morro Bay.

A great big thank you to Mickey and Shawna for accommodating me on short notice (well, more like NO notice) for a massage! When I realized I was going to have 90 minutes of free time while visting Morro Bay this past Saturday, I decided I’d really like to spend it getting a massage. So, I googled massage places in Morro Bay and called Spa by the Bay. Mickey picked up and told me she’d try to find someone; called me back in two minutes to tell me she wouldn’t be able to find someone. Her promptness had already made me decide to call upon her next time I was in town, but when when she called me back in two more minutes to tell me she’d found someone, I knew I had stumbled upon someone special.
Spa by the Bay is located in town, in a little professional complex across from the post office. Very convenient to the Chase Bank, where I could hit up the ATM beforehand. Shawna was the massage therapist that came in on such short notice. She was so very pleasant and nice and made me feel instantly comfortable. The massage room I was in was very comfortable and classy. Boy, Shawna knows her stuff. After only a one minute description of what I liked and didn’t like, she hit on all of the right spots for the right amounts of time. I have no idea how she knew, but she did. She was truly a professional, great at what she does, and is downright awesome. The best part of the massage (after Shawna’s telepathic massage skills) were the hot stones. Oh my goodness, the hot stones feel like… hmmm… they feel like getting into a hot shower on a cold morning, but like 20 times better. I am so glad she was able to come in!
I highly recommend Spa by the Bay. It’s appropriately priced for a massage therapy establishment without all the bells and whistles of a day spa. I will definitely visit again.

Mickey was very accommodating when I booked my appointment.
We parked in the back of the building and met Becky and Natalie. The day spa is small and I believe it’s by appointment only. If I recall correctly Becky was the one who gave me a massage but it didn’t matter because my Aunt enjoyed her massage as well. They provide a little bit of hot stones and for $ 65 that was way, way worth it. I was pampered by Becky, or Natalie, (sorry I don’t remember) for an hour.
I didn’t know they have a Unilocal deal of $ 10 savings if you check in. Still worth it.

One of the activities I wanted to do in Morro Bay was get a massage as I’ve been long overdue for one.
So, my friend went online, found and booked us a slot for a 90 minute couple’s massage at Spay by the Bay.
This business is located directly across from the Post Office and I mention this because one wouldn’t know it without actually walking up to the building and looking around because it looks like an office complex. I didn’t see a parking lot but it’s because there was ample street parking even with streets being closed for the Farmer’s Market which was only a few blocks away.
Anyway, we walk in and both Annie and Mickie immediately greet us and they’re friendlier than the staff I’ve become accustomed to at the massage joints in Westminster and Garden Grove. They situate us in a dimly lit room which soft classical music playing and get down to business as soon as both my friend are I are ready.
My massage was wonderful. I was brought to such a relaxed state that I fell asleep and was snoring away halfway through. She used enough pressure to work out the surface tension and used heated stones in the process. There have been only a handful of therapists who have been able to relax my body to the point of sleep and this was one of them. As I sit here composing this review, I’m not sore like I usually am when I go in for a deep tissue or trigger point massage which is normally what I ask for to work out my physical tension.
My friend has mentioned that she wants to come back to visit Morro Bay again because there’s so much to do and see. Time permitting, I’ll be sure to book another session here at Spa at the Bay.
