The location is about as good as it gets being a block away from the embarcadaro and one of the best beer drinking spots (40+ taps) in the region that also sits right over the water. Getting an ocean facing room gives you an unobstructed view out to the ocean and of course the massive rock. The room was clean, a good size, an easy to use fireplace (awesome) and we had a great balcony to look out from. The décor is a bit rustic, but has a charming feel to it more than being outdated. The staff was also very friendly throughout our stay. If the price is right I definitely recommend considering it as a place to stay.

I had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful hotel recently and I have to say they live up to their standards. The young lady that checked in was by the name of Caroline and she had to be the most friendly and most beautiful smile we had seen all day. When we got to our room we had 2 queen beds which was one bed more than we wanted, but it turns out we needed the extra bed because our friends were turned away from the hotel that they had reservations on. This hotel has an upstairs balcony where you can sit and watch the ocean and the stars smoke a cigar and watch Morro Rock, very beautiful. I highly recommend this hotel even though it can be a bit costly it is well worth the price we will stay there again thank you Caroline

The temperature control and controller were clearly not working — in fact, dangling from some wires. Despite that obvious problem, they rented this room to us. We have 2 small children, and the room was unbearably hot ! The fan provided was so loud no-​one could sleep. Very unhelpful front desk. Maintenance never showed up, even though we were told they would. The owner/​manager of the hotel was completely unsympathetic and gave us a pathetic discount. In fact, she had the gal to ask why we didn’t check out if we did not like the hotel — even though she knew it was labor day weekend and every other hotel was sold out !

We stayed here for one night on a college tour trip with our daughter. The hotel reception was friendly, parking was easy on site. The rooms are a bit outdated with lots of burgundy florals. A canopy hung over the bed but the bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately we didn’t know our room was not a double so our daughter had a sleepless night on a thin mattress sofa pull out. There is also a strange window in the bathroom. We had a balcony with a view of the rock. The breakfast was only so so. We didn’t eat much but grabbed a yogurt and a cup of coffee. We did go up on the roof at sunset for a few great photos. The hotel is close to everything so we would probably stay again. Not stand out but not bad.

We stayed here for a night at the beginning of the month, and overall I was pretty impressed. There were some cons to the stay, which I will mention later. The hotel had a very nice vibe, small but cozy. They have a great parking lot that had plenty of spaces when we arrived. We arrived pretty late in the evening, so I can imagine there would be plenty of space any other time. The beds were comfortable and the fireplace was great, but the place could use a bit of an update.
Cons:
–The shower might as well just be a bath. There must have been some gnarly clog in the drain because by the end of my «shower» I had water all the way to my calfs. It was very uncomfortable and not a pleasant experience.
–The front desk lady was a bit «brash». Sometimes people have a hard time spelling out our street address, so I always do people a solid and spell out my street address to make sure it gets down correctly. As I spelled it the lady snapped at me, «YEAH I KNOW HOW TO SPELL». O. o Whoa whoa whoa miss, I think its time to take it down a notch.
–The interior of the rooms felt very dated. There were these weird fabric things that hung over the bed that felt like they came straight out of the 70s. The wallpaper was extremely dated as well.
All in all, it was a pleasant experience. The hotel was very comfortable and we had a good night’s rest. I would stay here again, for sure.

Good location in Morro bay to walk to the embarcadero or Saturday farmers market. Great view of the rock from our room but we were in the Tudor suite. The room had a fireplace, jet tub, and balcony. The body wash smelled really yummy but the bed was too firm for our liking. The service was good and the breakfast was standard with some hot options but not much for gluten free needs. The place could use some freshening up. It was not necessarily worth what we paid for the room.

Would be 4 stars if they upgraded their linens. The staff was friendly and each of the rooms had a whirlpool tub and a gas fireplace. It’s a great location, close to the main strip. Ample parking and continental breakfast with waffles.

We spent 2 nights at Ascot Suites for our anniversary. The staff was very friendly and the room was cozy. We were on the third floor — our room had a nice gas fireplace and a whirlpool tub. The bed was also comfortable and everything was within a short walking distance. No complaints whatsoever. We’ll be staying here again

Decided to take a short road trip to the coast and we ended up here! Great place, love the staff! I want to say Linda or something like was at the front desk. She’s the best.
The reason why I’m not giving a 5 stars was because there was LONG black hairs in the shower.
Next time around I will stay here.

Floors and walls are dirty. Asked for a wine opener and she said they only had one in the building. Asked for a beer bottle opener and she said to bring it back. Place feels so dated and old.

It’s very old, dirty and outdated place. Fireplace in our room didn’t work. The bathroom was old and smelled funky. The sheets on the bed had holes in them. Not a great experience especially for the price they charge.

This place was fine, cute even. Not my cup of tea in the styling department and the walls were super thin so I could hear my neighbors arguing all night. But the price was good, the staff friendly, and the fireplace was a bonus since I visited in winter.

Biscuits and suspicious jelly were a final straw for breakfast being so bad we decided not to have it even if it’s free for the rest of our stay.
Promised coffee throughout the day in the lobby is old and cold by mid day.
4^th floor was labeled as Garden but you couldn’t even find mold growing there, just a few rusted chairs.
no seating on the balcony. like 2 $ 20 dollar plastic chairs would do even!
Seems like hotel has a fantastic potential but someone’s been cutting corners too much. this can be the best top hotel in Morro bay with higher rates if they can just kick it up a notch.
Believe me guys, people pay attention to these little things.
Would I come back to it? absolutely! But I hope you guys invest a little in your fantastic hotel! It will be oh so much more appealing to us and everyone else.

Make sure you do a thorough check of the beds before sleeping here. We brought our whole family and booked two rooms for a night. The pillow we slept on looked clean however literally smelled as if someone had vomited on it earlier. Our guess was that someone was sick on it in a previous visit and management only changed the pillowcase rather than the pillow. The morning after our daughter was sick with the stomach bug– we noted the front desk but apart from some scripted acknowledgments of the problem they seemed rather unempathetic. The front desk was rather defensive, saying that the cleaning service checked but found nothing suspect and that they are usually thorough. Sure okay, but why would anyone make something like this up?!

Pretty good accommodations. Luxurious feel, good condition, but they do pinch pennies in noticeable places.

Room had a serious flower motif (wallpaper, pillows, curtains). Big pull out couch and king bed in the room along with mini fridge. The large jetted tub was a bonus.
Breakfast was also included but not very good. It did have a few cereals, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, sausages, waffles and danishes.
They also offer evening wine (5:30−6:30) which was nice but wines are not that great. Seriously.
Covered parking available along with uncovered parking in case you have a van or a luggage rack.
Looking at what else they have in town it seemed like a good choice.

Walked in about 5:30 to check in and walked in on happy hour in the lobby. Whhhuuutttt??? Great way to kick off our stay.
The décor in the rooms looks like your great gramma’s house. Not just your gramma… your GREAT gramma. Real old lady sh**. AND I LOVED IT.
Our king room had a fireplace and a jacuzzi and it was DOPE.
Quiet hotel, nice people in the lobby and the front desk person was very nice and accommodating. Easy parking, free breakfast in the morning and like I mentioned before wine tasting happy hour.
I would def stay here again.

Wow! What a hotel!!! First off, I am absolutely in LOVE with the quaint little fishing village that is Morro Bay! It is honestly the cutest, sleepiest little town I have been to on the Central Coast and this hotel encompasses the atmo and vibe of this fantastic place!
The hotel is decorated like a B&B and I was a little nervous when I was first scoping it out on the Choice hotels website that it would be musty and dated, but to my happy surprise it was anything but! And for the price you would pay for much lesser hotels, the pricepoint for our room was less than we were expecting (though it is off-​season, so I am sure the rates will increase as it goes into shoulder and peak seasons).
They have ample garage and surface parking and an awning for two guest parking spaces so you can unload or load your luggage.
The check-​in was one of the nicest experiences I have had with a hotel. Colleen, the front desk clerk when we checked-​in was just so nice, gracious, and almost overly attentive! She was just the best! She even made us dinner reservations! We also got a welcome letter and «goody packet» for being Choice Platinum members, which not very many hotels do (though they are supposed to). I even made it just in time for the daily wine pour at 5:30pm, where their cozy lobby/​breakfast nook turns into a wine bar w/​a selection of Sonoma wines (Chard, White Zin, Merlot, and CabSauv) that you can sip to your heart’s content until 6:30pm. Be sure to bring a dollar or two as Colleen was also the barista and she was working hard for the money (and was generous with her pours!).
The room itself was beyond AWE-​some! We had room 303 and it was just spectacular! Real pinewood furniture, CANOPY BEDS!!!, A FIREPLACE?!, and a view of the town’s namesake Morro Rock from our window! Seriously, I felt like I was living my 9-​yr old little girl dream with the canopy bed alone! And speaking of, the beds were so comfy and the pillows adequate! I enjoyed all 3 nights sleep I had here! I especially enjoyed turning on the fireplace (it turned on with the flip of a switch!) and opening the window to let the cool bay air chill the room and fall asleep to the surprisingly lulling sounds of the harbor seals, fog horn, and local whitenoise.
So just when I thought it couldn’t get any better here, I had the breakfast! It is your typical eggs, sausage, waffle-​maker, yogurt, muffin and coffee variety (though it was actually pretty tasty), but what made it was being able to go up to the 4^th floor and eat it in the rooftop seating area with a full view of Morro Bay as the wind gently blew the sea air through my hair and the sun warmed my face. Literal paradise!
Needless to say, I can’t wait to find an excuse to return… ASAP!

My boyfriend and I stayed at this quaint bed and breakfast for two nights and we absolutely loved it! I found this gem from one of those Expedia deals where you book a 3-​star hotel in this area for a cheaper price but they don’t tell you what hotel it is until you buy. It ended up being and amazing deal.
The room came with a comfortable king size bed, a Jacuzzi, and our own fireplace. We had a room in one of the corners with a partial view of the ocean. The room was fairly decent size with a mini fridge and coffee maker. The decorations are not particularly my style per se — a lot of flowers everywhere, on wallpapers, the bed, the carpet etc — but it gave a very cute and homey feel to the place.
The place is only 2 blocks away from the ocean. There are plenty of restaurants nearby that you could walk to.
When I walk into the lobby, I love the fresh fruit pastry scent in the air. Not sure if it’s from their kitchen or they spray some type of perfume but it just makes me feel all warm and comfortable.
They have complementary breakfast but do not expect a feast. The breakfast is served from 7−10am and they clean up right at 10 so don’t wait until the last minute if you wanted to grab breakfast. The breakfast was decent. There were some eggs, sausage, assorted pastries, cereal, and toast. I did enjoy the waffles best. However, it was quite crowded and there were not enough seating in the little lobby area. They don’t have an actual restaurant so people just sit where they can.
They also mention complementary wine tasting from 5:30 — 6:30pm but when we walked by on our way out to dinner, we just saw a few open bottles of wine in the lobby and nobody there.
Overall, the staff was very friendly. The place was clean and comfortable. And of course, you just can’t beat having a Jacuzzi and a fireplace in the room.
