Four Points by Sheraton Raleigh Durham Airport

I’ve stayed here twice over the past two years for just under a week each time and I will probably stay here again. There is nothing fancy about this hotel but it is very functional. This is a great business traveler hotel if you want a clean, well-​run place to stay and don’t need any extras. The staff is pleasant and efficient. The rooms have many plugs and the hotel itself is new so everything is in good shape. Water temp is great and water pressure is impressive. You can definitely hear the planes late into the night and it starts up again in the early morning, but that also means it is super convenient to the airport. They even have a restaurant with a bar and room service. Parking is free and ample. The cost is reasonable for what it is and the only thing missing is a room fridge, but I imagine that would increase the cost and upkeep for the hotel, so it seems unlikely. And there is an ice machine and bucket so you can chill your water (ok, beer) if you need to.

Stayed here while in Raleigh for the bar exam. Excellent service, quiet (unless your neighbors are loud; mine were, but went to sleep around 9), and the breakfast omelettes via room service are
. It is right near the airport, so you can hear planes taking off around the clock. They’re not that loud though, and it actually makes great background noise.

Visited for a weekend recently for a family function. Arrived late night on Friday and had early check out on Sunday.
I was traveling with my father and young sister, and we had not booked anything prior to heading on the road. Once we were close, I looked up on Trivago to see what kinds of deals were near us; I decided on Four Points because 1) it was under $ 90 per night, and 2) I have stayed at Sheraton hotels before, and I have loved their beds. I had not experienced Four Points but I thought it was worth a shot.
We got to the hotel and I asked the front desk attendant if I could get the Trivago price, but she said it had to be booked online. I also inquired about military or AAA discount, and she said those, too, had to be booked online. She then pointed towards a computer station off the lobby where I was able to use a desktop unit rather than going through my phone. I figured it would shave a few minutes off the booking process.
I was right about the beds… they were definitely comfortable. We had a room with 2 queen beds, and we agreed that if we had the time, we would have all stayed in bed longer. Sadly, we did not.
Food-​wise, the breakfast was not included with the room price, but we did partake both mornings we were there. Continental breakfast: $ 6, and full breakfast: $ 9. Kids 6 – 12 were $ 6 regardless of their meal selection. (So maybe under age 6 was free???)
The difference between the two was a matter of sausage, bacon, and whatever was in a couple steam trays. One day it was scrambled eggs, sausage gravy & biscuits, and the next day was egg wraps and grits. It wasn’t a very big hotel, hence not a big breakfast selection, but they fit the bill for the basics, and that was good.
I thought it was a nice touch that the make-​your-​own-​Belgian-​waffle was included with the continental breakfast. And rather than have a bunch of cold items sitting on ice, there was a reach-​in mini-​fridge holding yogurt, milk, fruit cups, etc. It would have been nice to have the butter pats at room temp versus fridge cold, though, because spreading it would have been a lot easier.
I did not experience the restaurant (Spinners?), but my father and sister went down for chicken tenders and said they were good.
Bathroom was clean, towels were folded under the sink, and there were hooks on the wall for hanging them up rather than towel rods. Upon first walking in to the bathroom, I thought we would have to call down for the usual toiletries because I only saw soap and lotion. However, something told me to peek in the shower, and I noticed they have a dispensing unit installed there for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. One downside was that it took a long time to get hot water in the shower. The sink faucet was not quite as long. Patience is required unless you want a cold shower.

FREEZING water that «no one could do anything about.» We were told that they didn’t know why that was happening, so couldn’t really fix it. Offered to change us rooms around midnight, which didn’t help since we were already in bed. Waited for 15 minutes for service at the restaurant, which only had 3 other people in it, who had already been served. The group waiting before us ended up leaving. Once waited on, the staff took about 10 minutes to bring us our drinks. Overcharged for food, on average $ 3 more per plate than listed on the menu.

I find 4Points to be rather hit or miss; this is a definite hit! This is not a 5 star hotel, but in execution as a no frills hotel, it deserves 5 stars! Check-​in was quick (points stay); status was recognized, and I was placed on SPG floor. Fairly new hotel, bath was extremely modern (loved the toilet — ha!), room décor was stylish, and most important all was clean. Parking is well lit and plentiful. Outlets are convenient and in room coffee service is decent. Sleep was disturbed by loud next door neighbors (fellow SPG members should know better!) and a plane at 6AM — neither the hotels fault. (No planes at night, though.) I wish all 4Points were this superior, I would frequent them more often! There are 2 fast food restaurants within walking distance, also a Hooters, Cracker Barrel, and a chain steak house. Jordan Lake, a great state park, is within 20 minutes, as is (huge) Southpoint shopping area. The State Fairground (week end flea market) and (Raleigh) NC State Farmers Market are easy to access via interstate. I find rates in this area to be very low on weekends — a great place when looking for a base to explore the area… don’t think just ‘airport’ overnight! Excellent stay, we will return!

I stayed here for 2 nights. Nice hotel, clean, close to multiple malls and Restaurants. Bar tender at the bar was very nice and friendly.
My only 2 complaints are: 1. The pool was NOT heated. It was 45 degrees outside and the pool water was cold. The area around the pool was nice and warm but the water itself was not warm at all.
2. when housekeeping came to make the room in the morning she knocked one time before she stuck her key in the door to open it. She didn’t even give me a chance to take two steps to the door or to say that I don’t need any service. After she barged into my room I told her I don’t need anything. I leave and come back to my hotel a few hours later and somebody had been in my room. Ok, thanx for the fresh towels but I said I didn’t need service but someone still came in my room which made me look around and make sure all my belongings were still here.
I will stay here again and recommend it to anyone who needs a hotel that is less than 5 minutes from the airport.

Nice place, but very poor sound-​proofing. I saw quite a few flight crew members in the lobby and I’ve heard them leaving throughout the night. So close to the airport that you can hear planes taking off. I can hear the gentleman in the room next door almost as clearly as if he were in my room. When he’s using the bathroom, I can actually hear that more clearly than if he were using my bathroom. How delightful. No one else seems to have commented on this, so maybe I just got a terrible room.

Our experience at this Four Points by Sheraton was outstanding. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful and the facilities are great. Our trip to North Carolina was made even more special and pleasant because of the fantastic staff, the lovely hotel, and the quality of service provided.

I recently stayed one night — in and out for a wedding. The hotel looks fairly new, and it was VERY clean. My room was spacious and had everything I needed for a night. Comfortable bed, clean bathroom and REALLY nice pillows.
Check in was a breeze. The front desk people were very friendly. A small snack area with surprisingly good and inexpensive food is right there. A $ 5 chicken salad sandwich totally hit the spot!
Easy on & off the highway. I’d stay again — here or at another 4 Points. HUGE plus — totally smoke free hotel!

I’m in RDU area 1x/​month for work and stay at one of the Starwood Hotels. Great location for being by the airport, although i do miss the location by Southpoint Mall for ease of work dinners etc. Staff friendly and helpful if needed. Pricing seemed a little higher than should be for this time of year but could be do to march madness basketball games…

When my friend booked this hotel for a business trip I wasn’t happy. I like a hotel with a bit more frills and I also had an unfortunate experience at the Four Points in Sydney, AU. However, I kept the reservation.
It IS a no frills hotel but it is very functional. It really had everything we needed. The service at the front desk is exceptional — nice staff. They had a restaurant and a bar and room service. Really everything you needed. They also had a mini area to buy toiletries and snacks and even grab a beer if you want.
The rooms were spacious enough. Clean. The bonus was they had my favorite channel — Bravo — which I never find. I was thrilled. I also got a free shuttle to the airport with no hassle. All real easy. A/​C worked well. Plenty of plugs in the room. It was a great hotel and the rate was cheap!
I spent 6 nights last month at the Venetian hotel in Vegas and work paid a pretty penny for it and every night was a hassle. I would stay at the Four Points in a second over that hotel even given the lovely room.
Great service and all the basic amenities you need! Highly recommend it.

Have stayed here twice before early morning flights. Both have been a good stay and they have the amenities you would look for.

Stayed here in August 2013. Brand new property. Spacious, comfortable, and clean rooms. Ample parking. Great front desk staff that fixed a reservation mistake on my part. Very close to RDU airport. I used to travel heavily for work, and would judge this as a great hotel for the price point.

Had a great stay at this location. Room was clean, bed was nice. Bathroom had a large walk in shower. Enjoyed a burger from the restaurant, tasted good, was freshly made. Would recommend this hotel for future stays

Newer hotel, great rooms & comfortable beds. They do offer laundry facilities, a small fitness area and an indoor pool. The restaurant is ok; service is great and the prices are reasonable but I found the selection is lacking just a bit. I recommend this hotel to anyone that needs a room for a night near RDU airport.

My friends and I had an awesome stay at the Four Points.
We enjoyed free shuttle services to and from the airport. This was especially helpful to us, as we arrived in Raleigh on a Friday night at 11:30pm, right when Enterprise Rent-​A-​Car closed. We caught a shuttle going to hotel to sleep, and then we woke up bright and early to catch a shuttle back to the airport to rent our car for our trip. It was very convenient. The shuttle driver even dropped us off at Enterprise. That was super sweet of him.
The staff at the hotel were very friendly. We arrived at the hotel with the Southwest air crew, and while they took care of them first, we didn’t have to wait too long to be taken care of. They were also able to answer all of our questions regarding our stay.
The room we stayed in was very clean and nice. We didn’t have a nice view out the window of room #320, but we were there to explore the city so we didn’t mind it too much. Then at night, we couldn’t see anything outside anyway, so we were glad for the large TV, where we watched re-​run episodes of 30 Rock and How I Met Your Mother. There were lots of outlets for all of our electronic needs. My boyfriend was able to charge his camera battery, laptop computer, and all of our mobile phones.
When we first arrived, we had a funny moment where we thought the closet door wouldn’t open, and apparently many guests have had this experience too, as the guest service laughed and told me about her first experience as a worker at the hotel. The trick is to just pull the door handle out towards yourself. Don’t try to turn the handle.
As there were three of us staying in a hotel room, we were glad to see that there were three towel hooks in the bathroom. The shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel dispensers were also a nice (and eco-​friendly) change from using small sample bottles. I loved all these little signs of how the hotel’s going green.
My only complaint was that I had requested extra towels for the three of us, and at one point during our stay, we noticed that we were a bath towel short. Luckily, two of us are a couple so we shared a bath towel so it wasn’t too big of a deal.
I’d stay here if we were to visit Raleigh again. It’s very convenient, considering that Raleigh’s public transportation isn’t as good as Chicago, and you’d need to rent a car to get around the Research Triangle area anyway.

Stayed here one night and had no complaints. Staff and bartender were super friendly, rooms were clean.

I’ve spent many weeks in this place and can highly recommend it. For a multiple night stay this hotel will be 50% less than the Sheraton about a mile away.
Rooms are modern with all the amenities you would expect from a Sheraton. I think the beds are identical to the Sheraton’s. Big screen TVs in all the rooms.
The hotel is new so everything is in good shape. They do have a restaurant with a bar and its small. Same for the workout room. But they do have both! Its location is about 2 – 3 miles from the airport and if you are doing business in the RTP area its probably only a few miles from where you will end up. Lots of food choices near by as well.
It shares the parking lot with a Bojangles and a hooters so you can walk to get food/​entertainment!

My guest chose this location, especially since we were going to a couple of events at Hooters, which is next door.
I got to see his room, which featured a king size bed, hi-​def tv, plus work area and chair with ottoman. He raved on the shower, which he said was a great design. In fact he mentioned that if he ever designed a house he’s want to use that style in the bathroom.
Décor is contemporary and very traveler friendly. Lots of outlets for all of the accessories we bring these days.

Very nice hotel, located next to a few dining places and easy access to airport. I was able to tour the hotel for future business associates coming into town. Please check out pics.
