Classes are good. Instructors do a good job of explaining poses. Studio is very cold. Make sure you dress warmly.(It’s in the basement). This doesn’t seem right for yoga where you need to stretch muscles and work on flexibility. Very limited offering of classed. Was looking forward to doing yoga every day on my two weeks off over Christmas only to discover that they didn’t offer day time classes. Last Saturday the 10:45 am instructor seemed bored and didn’t interact with us. Tried to go to class today. Nobody there, doors locked, no sign in the door. Noticed on heir website that somebody else complained of the same thing December 27. They also had a tough time processing my Groupon. First they sent me an email acknowledging my 20 classes(I had purchased 40). Then they sent me an email stating I had used up all my classes when I had only used 1! While they were friendly and quick to fix the errors it does make me wonder…

I decided to begin my yoga practice here by purchasing their $ 30 for one month unlimited.(For background and context purposes, I decided to add yoga to fairly my fitness regimen which includes 3 days of high intensity metabolic boot camp and running approximately 15 miles a week.) I found the instructors here to be very approachable and qualified, but the classes themselves were too slow for my taste. It was not a workout for me, although it did help me learn the poses. I also do not like that the weekend classes do not begin until after 9AM, which I think is much too late. In fact, in general, the schedule is very limited and many of the classes advertised on the website are not in fact offered on the schedule. Overall, I don’t regret taking some beginners here to get a foundation for moving forward, but I would not recommend this studio to someone who already has a strong practice, unless gentle yoga is your thing. I’m looking forward to moving on to a studio with more intense classes.

I was staying at the Hyatt and found The Lotus Circle through Unilocal.I was just in time for a walk in Vinyasa Flow practice with Charlene. TLC is a very nice studio within a short walk of the Hyatt. Charlene is a very good teacher and led an invigorating practice. She does everything I like with Yoga: a nicely paced flow, clear guidance, breath control, and a very zen studio.

Om Shanti Om! I’ve been meaning to go to this studio since it opened in January and I finally went yesterday! The Lotus Circle hosted a Vino and Vinyasa workshop, taught by Charlene, the owner, with the wine tasting provided by Pam and Mil of Bountiful Seasons. The Lotus Circle is located in the quaint downtown area of Morristown on South Street. It has a great location, near shops, restaurants, bars, and frozen yogurt shops. It’s in the same buidling as the DMC Athletics and Rehabilitation. They offer basic, open, express, and classes for athletes. There’s something for everyone! You walk down a flight of stairs and hang your coat and leave your shoes in the hallway before stepping into the yoga studio. As soon as you enter the studio, your stress and worries seem to be miles away. To your left is a small boutique. They sell Kleen Kanteens, yoga mats, yoga clothing, Coobie bras(magical bras, I’ve heard) and handmade jewelry. The boutique is very clean and zen-like. There are cubbies towards the right of the studio so you can put your personal items. They have blankets, straps, and blocks for you to use during your practice. There’s plenty of room in the studio. I’m sure 30 people/mats could fit for a lovely yoga practice! We had a lovely practice full of relaxing and energizing poses and breathing. There was a lot of good energy in the room. After the hour of Vinyasa, we had our wine tasting event! Pam and Mil were very knowledgeable and had a great selection of wine. We all learned a lot and enjoyed eating the cheeses and chocolate while trying new wines. This was a very unique event combining two of my favorite things: Yoga and wine! And they truly compliment each other! The drive from New Brunswick to Morristown is 50 minutes(!) But we felt happier and more calm and centered. The drive home didn’t seem so long. I will definitely return to The Lotus Circle for another workshop or class!
