They play music from an iPod that takes me to a special place every time I’m in there. It’s uncanny how perfectly timed the hits just keep on coming. Plus Jess the bartender is awesome.

Love the open doors. Very nice servers and a decent happy hour selection of wine, beer and mixed drinks

I will give it two stars because the waitress and bartender were really nice. The menu is nothing to talk about. Lousy frozen food thrown in a fryer type of stuff. We had the spinach dip and it nothing more than a blob of white stuff with some spinach floating in it. The chips with it came from some broad line distributor out a bag. You have a fryer, make your own corn chips, duh!!! Oh, Happy Hour should consist of better drink prices, right? Not this place. A $ 1 off a beer, big freaking deal. Here is some advice, Your menu is bland, out of touch, boring and mundane. You are located and surrounded by local farms and great local food vendors, use them. Make your so called Happy Hour stand out by adding local breweries and specialty bar menu items. A chef is willing step out of the box, try it, you will be better for it. Trust me.

A relaxed, friendly place. Extensive beer, liquor, and wine selection. A friendly staff, and a menu to please anyone. This is a great place to watch a ball game without being a sports bar. What I like most about Tashmoo is that they stay open late on weeknights. I found the place one night when everything else was closed, and I’m glad I did. Now I drop by regularly. Each time I do, I’m greeted warmly, and I invariably strike up a conversation with another guest at the bar. It’s just that kind of place.

This is the worst place to be in Morristown. Last night I had been there after a long day of work and put my head down because of a migraine just for a moment. After doing so I was told I have to leave right after my significant other had ordered a drinks and food. I was fine with leaving but it was all paid for already 36.70 and we didn’t even get our food to go. I was leaving with no argument just trying to walk out but a worker grabbed me viciously by the arm. I now have cuts and bruises as well does my girlfriend. This is the worst establishment I’ve ever dealt with. I would not recommend this to a single soul and the worker should be fired.

First of all, after a year of cruising around the Morristown area, I haven’t heard or seen of this place. I’m not too sure whether this is a good or bad thing. When I first came in, I was like ok, this is an average bar. Probably not as nice as the other ones down the street, but it’s ok. My boyfriend loves it here because they have different types of scotches. He recommends the Japanese scotch, not sure of the name. I had the Sangria, it didn’t taste bad, but it just wasn’t very strong, and the glass was so tiny. Maybe I’m being petty, but for $ 7.50 of sangria, if you’re going to give me a tiny glass, at least make it strong. However, if you want to come here and have the specials, then its pretty good. For example, when I was there on mid– day Saturday, it was $ 3.50 for bud lights and there was $ 2 off nachos. But a lot of bars in the area that are nicer have the same specials. The bartenders were really nice and friendly. They gave great service, but it may be because the place was empty. This bar is basically priced the same as all of the other bars in the area, but not as nice. I would come back here, but only have the specials, because I didn’t like to be overcharged there.

Had a pretty«meh» experience here. This place is nothing to brag about. A group of friends and I wandered into this place on a whim for his 30th birthday celebration. First of all, there was only about 4 people in this bar when we got there. This was around 11:30 on a Saturday night. We wanted one or two more beers to close off the night before we got a ride home. The bartenders were rude to us and begrudgingly helped us as if we were disturbing their night. As if they didn’t want customers in their establishment. One of the people I was with accidentally dropped a glass which caused it to shatter on the bartop. The bartender then refused to serve us drinks for the remainder of the night. They clearly did NOT want to serve us and jumped at the first chance they could to refuse service causing us to leave. As we were leaving, one of the staff members was literally PUSHING people out of the doorway. This place has a clean and first class appearance with a dive bar attitude. I’m hoping this was a freak/rare occurrence, and I’d love to give this place another chance. However, the events of this night leave me a little weary…

Tonight, January 9, 2014 an American veteran and his service dog were denied service in tashmoo. They were met at the door with complete disrespect from young boys who had no idea what this man had sacrificed for THEIR freedom!!! I would like to say this was just an awkward introduction at the door, but the disrespect continued and the veteran was forced to leave. Shame on those punks and shame on tashmoo for employing them!!!

My friend and I wandered into Tashmoo recently. It was dark and cozy and a little loud. We were pleasantly surprised at the interesting offerings of food and very pleased with what we ordered. We have recently gone there again for lunch.

Came here last night after the Corporate Challenge 5K that ended nearby, it was packed with runners from the event and despite the fact that the place was super crowded we still got really good service and were taken care of right away! I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly we received our food and drinks(again, because of how many people were there). This bar has a good number of beers on tap and a good selection of beers and a pretty standard bar food menu(food was okay not great but good enough to keep me happy when I was starving :)). They also had live music that made for a fun vibe.

This bar is a good bar is you want to catch up with someone. It’s quieter than most of the morristown bars. The staff have always been friendly. Last time I was there my mixed drinks were made right. They also just added angry orchard on tap. I had an alright experience. Nothing to rave about. I have one suggestion, the hand dryer in the women’s bathroom would be better in a different spot, it turns on when you make any movement in there. Scared me the first time I opened the door.

Very mediocre. Draft beers, all three, flat. Food was terrible. Will not go back here. Waitress was nice though.

It’s a bar they do nothing to separate themselves from any other bar in Morristown. The food is very greasy and hard to stomach. Drinks are normal nothing special. I’ve been here on night where they have bands and it’s a nice change but way too small and hard to move.

Okay bar. BAD food. The only thing I can say is that all of the food is frozen. We ordered cheese fries. Shoe string fries with cheese and onions. I thought the onions were a nice touch, but the fries were to thin and just turned to mush under the toppings. They also use a frozen breaded chicken wing. How hard is it to buy fresh wings. I over heard a few people talking about the mac and cheese bites and how good they were. They would be the same mac and cheese that are on the kids menu at two other places I know of. Again a frozen product made by macain. If I want to eat food of this quality I will go to a fast food place. The owners should wake up and realize that now a days even the local pub is stepping up their game.

I very much enjoyed myself at this bar. It’s a small bar with a good amount of people. Everyone here seemed fun and normal. I had a Stella on draft which tasted good, although not as cold as I would normally like. i also tried their Cosmo which was completely average tasting. I would come here again — maybe even try some food.

Good spot if you like loud college kids watching football on a Saturday afternoon. I loved my buffalo chicken in my salad. Service was ok but don’t expect to come here for a quiet meal. Nice day and it was great sitting near the front with the doors open

After helping a friend move Saturday 6÷29÷13, we decided to go out for a casual dinner and drinks. The four of us brought the total customer count to six. Initially I was impressed by the cleanliness and atmosphere of the place but this was ruined by the contemptuous staff. Unsure of what I felt like drinking, my boyfriend asked Joyce(the bartender) if they had a house menu. She looked at him like he had three heads and gave quite an attitude when he clarified that we would like a drink menu. Since we got the vibe that we were inconveniencing the bartender, I opted for my staple; a kettle and cranberry. We received the cold shoulder from that point on. Off to a great start. Not even halfway through my cocktail another employee,(brunette, server?) was extremely short and insulting as she poured a draft beer. In an attempt to hold a conversation one of the guys said that we weren’t from the area and she replied, «where are you from?» One friend said«currently in PA.» She snugly replied, «yeah, I can tell.» When asked to clarify what that was supposed to mean, her attitude increased. I said, «My boyfriend and I are from NY, he’s from NJ, and he’s also from NY but lives in PA; so what exactly can you tell?» This struck a nerve and she avoided the question. My boyfriend chimed in to press her for an answer but was told, «I can tell he’s from PA. God, you don’t have to be so annoying about it!» As a bartender for 12 years, my threshold for this behavior is higher than my boyfriend’s and his friend’s. Throughout the entire 15 minutes in this bar, I tried to diffuse the situation and get my boyfriend to remain calm, despite the blatant lack of customer service we had received. Until the server said we were being annoying. Of course we were shocked, insulted, and appalled by both employees behavior, and at this point my boyfriend stood up and raised his voice. «Are you kidding me?» This was when the server told us we can leave and never come back, Joyce said to pay the tab and leave or she was going to call the cops. As we settled the check, we sent two guys outside before things escalated any further. Other patrons asked us what happened, and were in agreement that the entire scene was uncalled for. While I won’t comment on the establishment itself because we were unable to finish a drink, let alone have food; I will say that the service was the absolute worst I have had anywhere! NY, NJ, PA, FL, Mexico, etc. I have served and been served and have never been so disappointed. Joyce, you and the nasty brunette should be ashamed of yourselves and regret not treating the millionaire from PA and his friends with respect and common courtesy that is expected from professionals in the food service industry! Management of Tashmoo, I sincerely hope these two do not represent your A-team, especially on a Saturday evening.

I have never eaten here but I’ve gone many times for a drink. I’ve found that this is a great bar for catching up with people, as it’s always quiet enough to hold a conversation amidst a group or even between just two people. The bar is very casual but not quite a dive, and the bartenders are always friendly and approachable. They have many beer options on tap. My favorite aspect of Tashmoo, though, is the homemade pineapple-infused vodka. It’s tasty enough to drink on the rocks!

I go to bars to catch up with the people I brought and during the week this one is good for catching up over a great beer. Weekends this place rocks with drinking children LOL so forget a conversation then. Great craft beers on tap here! For $ 5.50 a pint you can have a Dogfish Head, a Lagunitas or a Victory, just to drop a few names from the recent tap list. This is the best craft selection in Morristown right now, and they knock off a buck during happy hour, only $ 4.50 each. Tuesdays the happy hour continues well past 7pm too. Tashmoo is a long, narrow and dark place, but in a good way. Probably only seats two dozen people with another dozen at the bar. The seats can fill up, yet it still has lots of standing room for the big crowd days. Has several huge screen TVs but in my experience the volume is usually nearly all the way down. They do crank the music a bit in the evening but nothing like certain other local bars. Recently I brought a friend to Tashmoo for a bit of a birthday lunch. Very quiet that day and one woman was both bartender and waitress. Waitress was good about helping us quickly but not so good about explaining that Heineken was bottled not tap that day, grr. The menu is rather short, straight American bar food like burgers, sandwiches plus a few entrees. We ordered sandwich wraps which arrived with fresh lettuce and tomato on grilled chicken, the onion rings were fried crisp(almost too crispy if you can believe that) and shoestring fries were good. In the past I’ve brought the wife who really likes Tashmoo’s pulled pork sandwich, quite a bargain at about $ 8 including a side. Every week day there’s a meal special, go check out the pic I posted. Tashmoo opens up nearly the entire front of the restaurant(big doors) on nice evenings and DeHart is a side street so the traffic isn’t a problem, it’s very nice to be dining nearly outside that way. In short they are serving good bar food at quite reasonable prices and the low noise level suits me just fine, so I’ll give it four stars to say I’m a fan.

It’s just a bar, the smells — beery, the bartenders — angry. The best part about this bar is the fact that they have the Xlerator Hand Dryer, in the rarely seen black color, in the restroom. The most advanced hand drying device on the market. They seem to have a decent beer selection, didn’t try much. It’s definitely a popular place and everyone seemed pretty nice, no fights. I think you could get a better idea of how this place is by going for food and hanging out, we came here at 11:00pm for a beer, so it’s just a bar at that point.

Eh… This place is okay. It’s cute but there isn’t much seating and the few times I’ve been here, it’s smelled like feet(kind of like how bowling alleys or shoe stores have that popcorn-y leathery smell). They have typical bar food, nothing spectacular, and drink prices are reasonable.
