Great DiY coffee station with every milk/​cream/​sweetener combo you can dream of. It is constantly being refreshed by the dutiful workers.
Super fresh pastries, and a large selection of gluten free specialities that Celiacs like myself truly appreciate.
Awesome made to order omelets. Customizable and served quickly-​always with potatoes.
It’s a bustling place in an oddly satisfying way with a mix of small town charm and early morning business people.
I wish they did more with the atmosphere/​décor, but the food honestly sells itself.

We have been frequent customers for years. That said, this past year we have experienced a steady decline in product quality. We had four cakes in a row with either issues or were not up to our standards from previous purchases. We were told they have a new designer and it shows. Saddened to see the quality of design and taste decline to its current state. We will no longer spend our money here.
$ 300 for a three layer cake that looked like it was from Shop Rite— no thank you.

This place was overrun on a recent weekday around lunch time. Very busy. A nice spot to grab a bite though.
Reasonable prices. You’ll spend maybe $ 10 or $ 12 a dish. The chicken salad was great and came with a side of beans. The salads were a decent size. We filled up.
Fruit tarts were really good albeit expensive.

I am amazed I have not reviewed Swiss Chalet yet as I have been here many times. The service at Swiss Chalet is EXCELLENT and their baked goods are UNPARALLELED This is a first class business that I can’t find a single fault with. I ordered a custom Groom’s cake from Swiss Chalet and they did an amazing job. Both Antonia and Johnny are dreams to work with and the pasty chefs are artists. This is the best bakery there is! If there were a 6 star option I would give it to Swiss Chalet.

Big fan of the sandwiches here. Extra points for providing healthy sides instead of the usual french fries or chip options.

Most disappointing chicken and waffles ever. Just because you can pick up all your ingredients from restaurant depot doesn’t mean you should. This is high school cafetería level meal. You found a great way to turn a first time customer into a last

I would give this place 4 stars but since learning they no longer toast muffins or croissants because they were braking several toasters, I’ve downgraded this review. GET A BRAND OF TOASTER THAT WONT BRAKE! The service is quick, choices are good and portions are larger than one would suspect. Seating is pretty good if you get there after or before the breakfast & lunch crowd. I think the counter people don’t smile enough because they are so busy & overwhelmed by the amount of people they must encounter. (I always feel like I’m at a fast food joint when ordering) Over all, its the best bet in town, unless you prefer your muffin & croissant toasted! Guess the diner in town will have to do (for now).

I’m not the biggest fan of the cupcakes, but it makes no difference… There are tons of additional options. The breads are delicious, donuts are light and fresh (they don’t give me heartburn the way DD does), scones are good. The last time I popped in I bought a fresh fruit tart to bring to my aunt’s house. The tart was piled high with fruit and there was a nice surprise of chocolate on the bottom of the shortbread-​like crust.
The prices are reasonable and there is something for everyone.

This is a great bakery with a wide selection of treats. They also have breakfast and lunch options. The service is great and the cupcakes are my favorite from Swiss Chalet Bakery.

There is nothing Swiss in the Swiss Chalet other than the name. A recent uninspiring lunch gave new definition to the words cheap and cost cutting. With the exception of the bread my blt was the very definition of flavorless.
Served with a wholly inedible bean salad, uncooked beans supported by a mantle of past their prime red peppers in some kind of vinaigrette, suffer the person that works near the eater. Uncooked or partially cooked beans equals all bad things to the belly.
My BLT was punctuated by flavorless bacon, lettuce void of snap and tomatoes the shade of pink associated with winter. The mayo couldn’t have been any less inspiring.
The only saving grace was the bread, although one side of the sandwich was the heel of the bread. Cheap.
Will anyone notice? Nope.

Expensive, high end bakery. Seven morning pastries set me back nearly $ 30. And you know what? Totally worth it. Boston Creams were fresh, with ample cream and the chocolate icing was amazing. Chocolate croissants with mini chocolate chips and dark chocolate filling? Better than any I’ve had in Europe. Fruit Danish are huge. Two of my kids tried, and failed, to finish them. Open early, clean, friendly… Great place for a kick-​start to the day.

Great place for breakfast or lunch nice café atmosphere. Cakes are ok a bit on the pricy side. Would have given them 5 stars but I go there every Sunday for breakfast and 7 out of 10 times they screw up my order. Sorry guys I know the chef cares and tells me that’s how they are behind the counter.

A bakery with breakfast and lunch options is one of my favorite things around. Swiss Chalet has plenty of seating (and outlets!) for eating and working. The food is good, but the bakery is definitely better.
I’ve been here on two occasions now for working lunches. The Panera style of order and pay, then wait for your hand held buzzer to signal food ready to pick up is very expedient. Food is typical salads, paninis, wraps and soups. There are a list of breakfast omelette as well, but I haven’t tried them.
The Swiss Chalet wrap was a great option and hearty enough for even a non vegetarian. Eggplant was crispy but nit Kaiden with oil. It was also in friendly bite size pieces ending the awkward battle of biting through tough skin (which I’ve lost a few times ending in a mess on my shirt).
The lunch special soup and panini combo is a bargain, but they fill your panini to show your reduced price. Overall I liked the grilled chicken half panini I received, but I notoriously like understuffed sandwiches. Heed my warning — if you’re looking for a hearty portion, this isn’t it. If you’re looking for something satisfying with good (not great) flavor, this is good enough.
The cream of greens soup wasn’t super thick, but my conscience is at ease after enjoying only a modest caloric intake.
Great for camping out and working. The coffee selection is wide and fresh, and the bakery counter is beautiful. Come for the treats.

I have never seen so many cake and pastry in one store. It appears to be hundreds of options here. We also ordered brunch. I would give five star if the chief didn’t use bare hand grab my potato. He just use his hand, without glove, to transfer my food from one bowl to the plate. The plate is very greasy and foggy, with oil everywhere. It is cheerful to see some beautiful cupcakes (see my photo).

Swiss Chalet is like Panera… but better.
Their wide selection of pastries, sweets, salads, sandwiches and soups are sure to please.
My wife and I went here for a quick bite. We expected mediocre food. It definitely surprised us on how quality the food was.
I had the tuna wrap which wasn’t too mayo-​ee and came with a side of macaroni salad which again wasn’t too mayo-​ee. I also had a bowl of their corn chowder soup… which was very good.
We also added the key lime pie mini thing and it was Key West quality. Who knew that this place would be so good.
Could be a go to place for baked goods and a quick bite in Motown.
They offer breakfast and lunch with plenty of seating. You order at the counter and pick up the food when it’s ready. And their chicken in their salads is warm… winner in my book! ENJOY!

Stopped in for a quick breakfast while waiting for someone at the doctors. I saw a ham and cheese omelet special with home fries for $ 8.95 so I ordered it with a coffee. The food arrived quickly, was hot and served on a real plate (nice). The food was cooked so well, I stopped back to compliment the cook.
With tax, the bill was $ 11.08… I think that represented good value.
As for the atmosphere, the room is bright and airy with plenty of seats. The staff was friendly, the volume of noise in the room was low and the TV (tuned to CNN) was silent.
I will grab a few Danish next time and add that to my to do list.

Great assortment of pasteries/​cookies/​cakes that all are fresh. They also have bagels and a hot station for omelettes which is great.
Coffee and espressos weren’t too shabby either, but make sure to note the hours of operations, especially on Sunday as they close a bit earlier!

The freshest and best selection of pastry, cakes and cookies in Morristown are at Swiss Chalet. My wife’s favorite is the large circle of puff pastry with chopped pecans topped with sugar, some people call it an elephant ear but it’s called a UFO here! My teenager loves the chocolate cigar roll (check the picture). All sorts of fresh cakes are in their coolers too, or you can order custom a few days ahead. Lousy selection of fresh bread unfortunately.
The main downside of this bakery is that their prices are downright Swiss, which is to say notably high. Small cakes that serve about 8 quickly hit 25 bucks. A slice of crumb cake is pretty reasonable at 1.75 but that big UFO pastry? It’s $ 4.50. A fancy macaroon pastry with touches of apricot and chocolate was $ 4.80, that kinda got my attention.
Their new place (just moved in Feb 2013) has plenty of room to sit down and enjoy the goodies with a cup of coffee. Also plenty of parking in back! In fact the new place is so large that they started serving lunch, with soup, sandwiches and fresh pizza. I have not yet tried their lunch pizzas, that seems like it’s worth a visit.
